With plot taking place during a war, both series show the hardships of kids trying to survive these nightmarish times. Both series are brutal and depressing, but also trying to show some positive moments in their reality.

Chi. Chikyuu no Undou ni Tsuite

The themes of both series are pretty much the same: it's all about science, knowledge and human potential. Chi: Chikyuu is a more mature take on the topic than Dr. Stone, but both stories manage to convey the message very well.

Patalliro! and Level E's protagonists feel basically the same: both shows tell a story of intelligent princes/kings who love pulling pranks on others and use their genius to annoy everyone around, especially their closest guardian.

Both manga have a main character with a lot of problems, depression being among them. The root of plenty of their issues is the family, on which the series focuse significantly. The characters have their highs and lows, but at the same time they gradually go down deeper and deeper: having more problems as the time goes on, starting complicated relationships and getting into an even worse state. Artwork is amazing in both KazeKi and Punpun, being extremely detailed and original.

A lot of extremely dark humor, indifferent to harm protagonists, total abstraction, unique art styles - I mean, these two series are like long-lost twins which are guiding you through an acid trip

Fighting against monsters, which the series uses to allow itself to show the ugly side of human nature - if this sole theme and dark climate is what you're interested in, then the other title surely has plenty of these!

Creativy, metaphors, surrealism and originality are what both these series are all about! These are short anime about completely abstract and mind-blowing adventures, in which you have to focus on every second not to miss that surreal beauty, and to understand at least anything. In Genius Party half of the episodes are made in that manner, and Nekojiru-sou is a short film which doesn't wander off its weirdness even for a moment. What's more, one of the directors of GP, Masaaki Yuasa, is also a screenwriter and animation director for Nekojiru-sou!

Similar theme, a bunch of students doing idiotic things after and during classes. Also, both are focused on friendship and just having fun in life. Even some jokes are almost the same

The theme in these two series feels really similar: they are both dark, hedonistic stories about people who gradually become unable to hold back their sexual desire. Thus, if you're more interested in the theme than the plot itself, you might really like the other title. The main difference is that Warau Kyuuketsuki is extremely violent and graphic, while Takato Yamamoto keeps his one-shot pretty subtle and very aesthetic.
