I don't understand all the hate. it had real potential................til the ending.

WARNING: Small spoilers included for the ending of show and for ending of kong vs godzilla.

which is literally one of the worst endings I ever seen. A nobody wins, everyone loses ending. hell even the new Kong vs Godzilla movie ending was better, atleast there was a clear victor if it wasn't for Robozilla interfering and then they all of sudden become buddy buddy. Literally no winner when the entire damn show was around a war.


so in the end if you don't mind disappointing endings, its a decent show.........til he end................... then its just ... awful. like 1 point score bad

If you like to read the manga/light novel and watch anime. DO NOT READ before watching the anime. otherwise you most likely will hate the adaption. just a fair warning.

That being said, the novel is a masterpiece and is by far my current favorite light novel. The author adds so much detail, each volume could easily be its own season and that's with cutting detail out. which is why I suggest watching the anime first, because they cut out so much detail that, if you read then watch, you will hate the adaption. 4 volumes in 1 season. its sickening at how much detail was ... gutted.

however, i must also make clear, it is defiantly a little pervy, i mean it is a harem Isekai, so if you don't like the genre don't read it.

also another warning is if you are buying the light novel/manga know the author is writing another series that is the prequel and it shares the exact same title except for the word ZERO. so don't get the wrong book by accident. (guilty of doing this myself)

Most people will agree that the Aincrad portion of season one is rushed and that Aincrad and and fairy dance should be separate seasons. However this is NOT the case of "the adaption cutting out detail", the adaption actually did a wonderful job and cant really help that it is rushed.

the reason the first part of season 1 is rushed is because it is not an adaption of a light novel/manga but of a entry in a story contest. That's how SAO started. A little short story contest entry. so the author himself didn't provide the detail need to give Aincrad its own season. ... after becoming a surprise hit, the author continued the story with fairy dance, phantom bullet, mother's rosary, Alicization, moon cradle, and unital ring. But good news is Aincrad season will be redone. After becoming a hit the author is rewriting Aincrad and is going floor by floor, (The Progressive version), and the adaption producers already gave it the green light once they allow the author to write enough ahead of them. but considering the anime was working with a small contest entry piece, it truly is a masterpiece. however once progressive gets adapted, this will look like complete garbage.

If you look at my ratings you wonder how all 10s end up getting a overall score of 8?

First time watching it i thought it was a master piece, it was so good that I bought the light novel, which is when my opinion of it changed. the light novel and manga is a 10 and in a comparison between the 2 the anime is actually a 5 if not lower. in fact the reason the average score is a 6. something is because people also read the book.

so I recommend watching the anime then read the book, otherwise you will most likely hate ... the anime.

The difference is detail. the adaption does 4 volumes in one season and while its common for details to be cut in adaptions, this adaption removed an extremely excessive amount. each volume has so much detail that they could easily make a season on their own and they would still need to cut some detail to fit it all in.

so while I hope season 2 happens, I also want it re-done completely.

one of those slow starter anime. Honestly almost dumped it .but if you hang in through a few episodes it gets at least a little entertaining.

And while we know what the characters mission is, we don't ever get told why except for the very vague "past is causing problem in the present" but we never find out those problems are or why the mission is so important. but that aside the rest of the plot is fairly decent.

highly doubt it'll get a 2nd season

this is more of a you "got nothing else to watch so might as well give it a shot" anime.
