I really enjoyed the first season of this show, and the beginning of the second season was a pretty good continuation of that.

If you've already watched season one and are wondering if you should watch the next, this would be my advice to you: Start season 2 and then stop when you finish episode 6. It makes sense to stop there and it would be a really nice ending. The little bear even mentions how ep 6 feels like a last episode. I wish I did this, and because I didn't, this series now leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

If you're like super interested ... in the second couple: you could watch ep 8 only till 10:17, then ep 11 only till 16:07

It's not entirely uncommon for shows to try to shake things up in a last ep, and usually it doesn't bother me too much. Or if I don't like it, I manage to kind of delete it from my headcannon as to not ruin the series for myself. Here ep 12 feels like it comes from a completely different show in a different genre, not in a cool way, it feels like it's trying really hard to be something it's not. And it crumbled up so much of what I loved about the show. Finishing ep 12 is what made me understand for the first time how people feel when they say "the last episode/the ending ruined it for me".

Science obsessed nerds scientifically obsessing about love. It’s very cute. It's funny. A great, lighthearted watch.

Story:
While watching romance anime, sometimes it feels like the writers have the same outline of tropes and cliches that they want to hit, and then they try to conjure up a new way to somehow put the characters in those situations. This certainly isn’t always bad, but sometimes makes the romantic progression feel forced/unnatural/lacking warmth… almost like these writers are scientists forcing lab rats (characters) through countless mazes (stories/plots), that vary slightly but ultimately have the same checkpoints and objective (romantic milestones/tropes).

However, in Rikei ga Koi ni Ochita ... no de Shoumei shitemita, the characters themselves hold the role of the scientist. They’re doing the trope experiment on themselves. AND IT’S CUTE. The romance plot points that often feel so calculated to hit the formula of the genre, are literally being calculated by our main characters in their attempt to use formulas to define love.

The setup of a pair of scientists conducting extensive research to prove whether or not they love each other, provides many amusing moments. The show is plenty silly, but also legitimately educational sometimes. Although I must mention, you are bound to feel at least a little bit frustrated at one point or another while watching. It's obvious to everyone that the MCs are in love but they're being sooo dense about it. But in their defense, being in love for the first time is scary, especially when you're a nerdy adult with questionable social skills. They're just going about it in the only way they know how and that's just precious.

Characters:
The characters had an appropriate amount of depth for the tone and pacing of the show. It was fun to watch how this group of different nerdy individuals interacted and all of their antics. It was heartwarming to watch how they connect and grow closer to each other.

Music&Art:
Good music, I liked it. The art and animation are visually pleasing and engaging.
