Plastic Memories
add

These two anime feature a main male character with dark hair, and a female main character with white hair. One of these two joins the main setting of the stories, the workplace, and the other is tasked with teaching them what to do. These anime are mainly about how the two characters grow closer together and change thanks to each other. There are also other female characters in both series that may or may not have feelings for the main male character. While Plastic Memories has more romance while Yuushibu is filled with fanservice, both are enjoyable watches.

Mirai Nikki (TV)
add

These two shows are similar because of their gore and dark themes, as well as romance and the yandere trope, specifically in Mirai Nikki. There is some nudity too, especially in Elfen Lied. There are good plot twists as well, and interesting casts in both. If you enjoyed one of them, you are quite likely going to enjoy the other as well.

Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni
add

These two movies happen during World War 2 in Japan. There are themes of family, hope and death, and both have the drama and historical genre. A sad and beautiful watch, really enjoyable with feels too. They have somewhat old art styles (especially Hotaru no Haka, since it is an old anime), and amazing music. In conclusion, if you enjoyed one, you're almost definitely going to love the other one too.

Inu x Boku SS
add

The main female leads, Victorique and Ririchiyo, both have similar personality traits, including how they are unwilling to acknowledge their true feelings. They are also short and often accompanied by the main male character, Kujo and Miketsukami respectively. They rely on the main male and become closer and closer to them. However, although both of them have romance, they do not have similar plotlines. Gosick is about solving mysteries in the Victorian era, while Inu x Boku SS is about youkai, leaning on the supernatural genre (though it mainly revolves around the romance and drama).

Shuumatsu no Izetta

Shuumatsu no Izetta and Owari no Seraph are interesting shows about two sides battling against each other. Shuumatsu no Izetta mainly uses magic and not everyone fights, while in Owari no Seraph they use weapons to fight. Both of the main characters were motivated by a friend who they deeply care about, and there are homosexual undertones in both series (yuri for Shuumatsu no Izetta and yaoi for Owari no Seraph). Both contain a bit of comedy as well despite not having the genre listed, so it won't be exceptionally boring.

Owari no Seraph and Akame ga Kill! are two shows featuring a colourful (literally, they have quite the hair colours) cast of characters and themes of tragedy and revenge can be found in their stories. There are two sides in each series that fight against each other, and the main character joined the 'good' side with great hatred for the other side (more for Owari no Seraph). Special types of weapons and skills are also involved in their fights.

Nanbaka and Hataraku Maou-sama! are both really comedic shows, however there are some serious times as well when it gets a bit tense because of the action going on (more so for Nanbaka). There is a colourful cast of characters for both shows and are quite entertaining. Although the plotlines are extremely different, people who enjoyed one of them are likely to enjoy the other too.

Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru
add

These two shows are both part of the magical girl genre, but are different from the typical magical girl anime, as they contain darker themes that aren't very cheerful. The somewhat small cast of characters have rather similar personalities and bonds too. Both also have good music and art, and of course, a well-structured and intriguing plotline. If either of them was enjoyable to you, then you should give the other a shot if you haven't already.

These two shows are about a group of teenagers suddenly being forced into a situation where they have to connect and become closer to each other. There are a few characters with similar personalities or in similar situations. Many of the characters also undergo character development, and their relationships with each other improve. They have sort of similar art style and great music. Both are sad, mainly AnoHana, and the drama genre really plays in for both of them. There are also some truths to be discovered. Positive emotions such as love also have to do with these two anime. Definitely recommended.
