Renai Flops is the ultimate romantic comedy. Well, maybe the second best. But it's close.
Many romantic comedies get too caught up in the story, and forget that anime is supposed to be a form of entertainment. Renai Flops is a nonstop adrenaline rush of love, action, and humor, while still fulfilling it's intended goal of tugging at your heart strings.
What begins as seemingly a simple ecchi harem gag anime ends up becoming a full-fledged work of art, with a beautiful story that plays on cliches and tropes, deep, relatable characters, and a climax that will blow your mind.

Shuumatsu no Harem

There's nothing worse than a show with potential that fails to deliver.
...Or so I used to think. Shuumatsu no Harem, or World End's Harm, somehow managed to lower my standards. This show had potential. At first, it was actually delivering. The concept was new and interesting, the futuristic setting was beautiful, and the characters were unique. I was genuinely excited to watch for the first few episodes. That just made it even more embarrassing when it turned into a dumpster fire. That was around when things got rapey. The plot fell apart. Any hope of advancing Reito's character was thrashed by the sex freak ... Nov 7, 2021
Gamers! They're all otaku, right? Dumb, weak nerds, the lot of them.
After all, how could a pretty girl be a gamer? This show is bad, and for all the reasons it shouldn't be. It's not actually focused on games, gamers, or other otaku stuff at all. The main focus is some stupid love triangle or square or whatever. It could be solved by a middle schooler with half a brain, but a cast of 5 (6?) can't seem to figure it out. It's like a bad drama, except animated. Like "Days of Our Lives" if it had bits of "haha otaku gamer" references sprinkled about. Also, are we really supposed ... Sep 6, 2021

"I'll come back for you, babe, so wait for me" X 12.
That's it. That's the show. Why? What's the point? It doesn't fulfill the harem genre. There's no competition. It doesn't really fulfill the isekai genre either, because all magic and whatnot is just accepted at face value. No romance, no comedy. Just... kind of a tease. This had the potential of being a good anime if there was a plot or a focus on a girl or even GIRLS, but there's really just nothing. No long term goal. Great world, interesting concepts (granted they've all been seen before) all kind of just shot down the ... Sep 1, 2021
Peter Grill to Kenja no Jikan

add
I found this show after having read the first chapter of the manga, and I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised.
Peter Grill and the Philosopher's Time is a rare example of an anime who's dub completely outshines the original. The acting is phenomenal, with added jokes that don't take away from the original Japanese. There isn't much dissonance, since the story doesn't take place in Japan. Of course there is always going to be a joke or two that doesn't translate, but even in those cases they are handled very well. Overall, I give the show a 9/10. Very sexy. Mar 2, 2021
Dogeza de Tanondemita

I don't usually write reviews for things I don't like, but this was so awful I had to make an exception. The premise was simple and funny enough: get on your knees and beg for ass and tits. It could have been funny. It could have been interesting. It wasn't. "Dogeza de Tanondemita" starts off awfully on its third foot in first person, and the ENTIRE focus is on YOU (the viewer) begging for something you can find with a simple Google search. I have never felt this much second-hand embarrassment. To make matters worse, it's a short, so there's no real plot; it's just

This movie is life changing. You will walk out of the theater, living room, bedroom, or whatever you watched it in staring at the ceiling to make sure that you have something to stand on in the event that gravity were to suddenly invert. The concept on it's own is revolutionary. The CAMERA, oh my God, I haven't seen cinematography like this since Bakemonogatari. Watching the characters compensate for and interact with an upside down world while discovering the truth is thrilling. The amount of foreshadowing is insane, and only becomes apparent upon re-watching. The art is beautiful, with extremely detailed underground scenes and vibrant,

Toradora is completely and utterly the ultimate love story. The characters are all unique, each having their own concerns and interests. The plot is well written and easy to follow, yet it refrains from abusing cliches. You will be invested until the end. The art, while nothing particularly special, retains a charming feel. Toradora will make you cry, laugh, and cry again, but when all's said and done, you will be left with a smile on your face. I highly recommend this as an entry level show to new anime watchers as well as a masterpiece for experienced anime veterans to enjoy.
