I'll keep this review short and sweet (quite like many of the chapters).
In the beginning, Tonikaku Kawaii served as a simple, anti-cliche, - but most importantly - fun romance manga that required minimum investment. Characters were 2 dimensional but lovable. Plot was simple but fresh, often self-aware of its genre and poking fun at common plot arcs (although a much more complex overarching story was hinted at throughout). The artwork is nothing out of ordinary, though Kenjirou Hata's style made the overall enjoyment great. I gave the the manga a 8 - a lighthearted read that was unique and energising.

chapters, however, the series gets a 9.
It took a big risk with a specific arc (no spoilers) which had been foreshadowed throughout the story. Though the tonal shift (probably temporary) may upset some, it expanded upon its characters and its world building (?!??! did not expect that). It presented a realistic romantic conflict and a conclusion which felt satisfying. To me, this arc served as a critical moment which got me more emotional attached to the story and its characters, while opening up new possibilities for the future.
It's too soon to say what the series will end up becoming, but as of chapter 153, it looks very promising.
