The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess is an amusing surprise of an anime. I did not have high expectations starting this show, in fact, I was prepared to drop it within the first 3 episodes. However, I quickly realized that this typical trashy harem power fantasy show actually had some substance to it.
The Story: Our main protagonist in this show is a vampire princess, Terakomari Gandesblood, a teenage shut-in who refuses to drink blood like other vampires. As a result, she has found herself to be quite weak and, thus, is absolutely horrified by the idea of participating in society due to judgment.
...
Unlucky for her, she gets the news from her maid, Vill, that she's actually going to be a commander for the queen and fight, to the death, over and over. This obviously does not go over well, and throughout the show, this aspect becomes *very* repetitive. This is probably the worst part of the show. There is a general feeling of stillness. This show struggles with repeating the same issues over and over, all resolved not by Terakomari herself but by her harem. As viewers, there are very few times that there is any tension because of this, which is relatively uninteresting in the long run.
The Characters: While the aspect of repetitiveness does annoy me, I think the characters are what makes this show so enjoyable. Even though this is a yuri-bait harem show, all of our, I guess, 'leads' have backgrounds and a unique place within the story. Moreover, the characters here do show layers and promise of change. We get to see some characters totally evolve and show their strengths. Also, the designs are all super cool; even the side male characters are quite unique and fun to watch.
Art / Animation: Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous show. This show is seriously pretty. Honestly, the fights are super cool to watch, and the animation is fluid as hell. The comedy is also shown to be overexaggerated, and the expressions here are great. Many people have described this as Konosuba-like, and I'd definitely agree. You can see the similarities. The OP and ED also have cool animation!
Sound/ Music: Not much to say here. The OP and ED are good, especially the ED and I added it to my playlist. The voice acting is okay. There's not much to say, but they all did the job, and I liked that. Some were FAR better than others, and I kind of wish they noticed that because the difference in skill is blatant.
Overall, this show is pretty average. It's a good surprise but nothing extremely notable either. The yuri here is obviously bait, with little actual romance, and the action is okay. If you're looking for an easy watch, this is your show, but if you need something a little better, then watch something else.

I get the appeal.
Tomo-chan is a very sweet romcom anime about young love, that is very apparent. I think it started off quite strong, with good comedy and cute strong characters. I love the dynamics between Carol-chan and Misuzu, with them bickering at times but always having one another's back. Misuzu also is like definitely the best girl in the show. As for our main couple, I'm not really that interested in them? Even after watching I don't feel much sentimental value for them which is? Questionable. It just dragged a-lot with the whole romance aspect, it's a ROM-com, so I was expecting like
...
a little more romance, maybe a few more kiss scenes, like please? We did not really see Jun's perspective like that much at all, which also would've been interesting... I was just disappointed in that aspect, and the fact it it paid so much attention to the fact Tomo is a tomboy, I think it could've been better with like just embracing it? Sure, her being dressed up is adorable but I think their best scenes came from when they were being themselves and there was some cute tension in-between.
Comedy wise, I think this show does a good job, some of the jokes are hilarious, and they really make sure to bring them up at the best times. I do wish though we had more of a variety... but nothing to really complain about. Except for the fact it can get pretty boring, I kind of did just leave it on it the background at times while working forgetting it was on because it kind of did get repetitive with the 'Jun doesn't think of me as a girl omg...' scenes.
By the way, the voice actors did great on this series, if you do watch this... You'll notice the same.
Anyways, this series was fine I guess ,,,, it's not really anything special to me. It needed more work and more planning for me to enjoy it. If you do like slowburn and a good laugh than this show is probably for you.

I found The Abandoned Empress to be a massive waste of time.
It starts off with your stereotypical shoujo villainess synopsis, that our mc would get revenge and live a better life, that she could change her destiny. Likewise, this story does absolutely nothing to steer away from that, in fact, it actively chases that concept. Throughout this manhwa our mc worked very hard to grow strength and respect within high society, becoming a female knight at that, but what does our mc end up doing? She ends up with the very person who put her in this situation, the man who killed her, literally the
...
most boring, uninspired ML ever. In fact, he, himself, shows no ounce of character development throughout the story and still displays the behavior he once had in his past life, and the mc just coddles him as he is your typical traumatized ml who can't get over ANYTHINGGGG. Thus, what was even the point? I don't get it. Not worth the time.
And besides the god-awful story the art is painfully okay throughout the story-- it's not bad, but compared to other manhwa? It's not that good, and the character designs are boring. The only thing I really enjoyed seeing is some of the mc's dress designs.
So overall, it's a 3, I can't justify anything else.

WMMAP is a wonderful webtoon novel that has greatly impacted my journey with reading manhwa & Korean novels.
I will start off with the STORY: For me, it's quite easy to follow if you pay attention and leaves quite some room for reader interpretation. The story starts off with heart-wrenching writing, really connecting me with what I was reading. It has decent pacing and very unique traits that I hadn't seen in another.
10/10
ART: The art is phenomenal. It's memorable and captures the essence of the fantasy world gracefully. The artist has done a wonderful job also, with using their skill to draw out emotion.
10/10
CHARACTERS:
...
Our main character Athy, without spoilers, is a girl too who a female reader more-so can relate to. I think many people, may find her a bit annoying but realistically she's been through more than I'd ever imagine. She has decent development. With other characters, I won't comment, for the sake of wanting YOU to learn about them. I think though there's a lot of room for opinion, and most have changed throughout the story.
9/10
ENJOYMENT: Okay, I think because I've had to wait in between the schedules my experience has been different from others. For that, I'm giving it an 8/10. On its own, I love it, but there are some areas that I'm not fully interested in.
8/10
OVERALL: You should give it a try. Whether you like it or not, I would love to chat about it, and if anyone would like to message me on here or friend me I'd love to! Anyways, with that said I'd give it a 9/10. Which could change;...

"Villians Are Destined to Die" or "Death is the only ending for the villainess" is a very well-written Otome isekai manhwa. Based on the novel, it's very accurate and sticks to the original story magnificently.
STORY | 10 | The plot in this is pretty great. Easy to follow, with plenty of cliche moments that don't really bother me as a reader. Compared to other manhwa I've read, it's unique. It's very painful and heartwrenching, with many moments that push me to keep reading. Overall, my favorite thing about this plot though is the game aspect. It's interesting as hell watching Penelope's decisions, and the turns
...
it takes.
ART | 10 | I'm no artist, but this is stunning. It's colored beautifully and has great pannels. I also really enjoy the unique style, it's memorable.
Character | 9 | I really like Penelope as an MC. She's relatable, intelligent, and very self-aware. The only thing I dislike is some of the other characters. I feel that they can be developed a little more? The good thing though is as a reader I have the ability to hate her brothers just as much as her LOL.
Enjoyment | 9 | I enjoy it a-lot, clearly. The only thing though, is some chapters are skippable or sometimes a little boring.
Overall I'd give it a 9.5/10 !
EDIT: I've now finished the novel, and I will say. I hope it does not follow with the later chapters.
