This season is the definition of how different a series can come out with a different director. The first season I can see why people liked it, but it was legit just shonen slop IMO. It wasn't the greatest, it had some points where it was better, but it was not good enough for me. This season felt like a switch flipped. You can tell that the same director of Chainsaw Man worked on this one because it has the same ambiance. It is such a unique approach on the series and it made it so much better. I think the content of the season
...
helps as well because it's more serious, but I think if it was directed the same as the first season, I would have definitely dropped the series within the first 3 episodes. But by the first episode, you could tell there was something different about this season compared to the first. Yes, they reduced the detail on everything, but I honestly do not see how that is an issue. I personally think animation means more to me than detail to a degree, but I think that the trade-off in this series was needed. The fights were amazingly animated and super hype. The direction in the fights was unlike anything seen before I can't lie. I would argue that this season has some of the best fights in all of anime animation-wise. I think the direction and the animation is what made the anime great for me. The only thing that sucks is that the staff were extremely pressed for time and overworked, so half of the things that were being worked on, especially on one major fight, was cut out. If you look it up, you can find the full fight. In that one major fight, it might have had some cuts in the original anime that were hard to follow, but with the full fight, all the cuts make sense (because you can see that the jump was literally a big scene cut out). I would recommend this if you watched the first season and were iffy about it or if you liked csm's direction in how they portrayed the show. This season is a 10 out of 10, and this season itself is part of my top 10 (but not the series as a whole).

I honestly liked it a lot, animations were excellent. The story was nice. My only thought is that it might be a bit of a weird watch for someone who hasn't seen the actual anime or read the manga. There is a lot more to the anime/manga and knowing how it got to that point makes it a bit more enjoyable because you see a lot of the buildup up to that point. And just how they got there as a team makes the game mean a lot more. Plus, if you're there for the gameplay, it's like 50 flashback and 50 gameplay. This game
...
has already happened in the manga/anime so people who have already consumed Slam Dunk won't mind the flashbacks and everything (including me), but again, if you're there to watch the game and not there for the flashbacks, I can see it being annoying. Some of the flashbacks also make more sense when you've seen Slam Dunk. But again, I think that it is really good on its own if you are there to just watch it, or there as a Slam Dunk fan. I enjoyed it a lot and seeing it from a different angle than the main, but again I think you'd enjoy it more if you have already watched Slam Dunk because it seems more targeted at the fans.

This contains minor spoilers, mainly from season 1.
Again. This anime would be good if Aqua was just the son of Ai, and not a reincarnated middle age doctor. The guy is dating and falling in love with high schoolers. I am not sure how people are just looking past that. Legit, this anime would be really good if he was just normal. Everything else besides that part is really good. But that's legit how they introduced the show. It is very weird and he has shown that he is still aware of his past. I had to drop after watching half of the newest episode.
...
The only reason it's not a one is bc of animators doing well and the fact that everything else is good so ig if you can look past that, then enjoy, but I think it's weird. A certain someone from a certain anime got a lot of shit for being thousands of years old and being cursed to fall in love with someone he has to watch grow up from a baby (and understandably so). This is literally no different except the guy is a middle-aged man in a kids body and falls in love with a person his age (in his reincarnated life).

SPOILERS!
I'm ngl, this anime would be really good if it weren't for the p*do undertones. But I guess this is anime so who cares am I right! The was they go about showing life as a popular idol/actor is cool. The animations are really good, the characters are okay. Like the story first starts off with an older guy being reincarnated into a kid of his number one idol and it's like okay cool. There's a whole revenge plotline bc she dies. I was very surprised by the twists that happened. It makes sense, but like once the twist happens, it kinda feels weird because
...
the revenge thing feels like such a side thing. Which is okay I guess, I think the main story was interesting, but like once they get into a dating acting thing. I thought he would definitely be more resistant of dating/kissing because he's a whole adult in a kid's body. But he does kiss and he does date and it's just weird how normalized it is. I watch this and I'm like, this legit could have just been her obsessive, loving kids, not just reincarnated ppl and everything would have been good. Not sure why an adult had to be reincarnated for this. The anime is good if you forget about the part with the older man being in a kid's body. But that's what it is, so for that, it tanks my score hard. I guess watch it if you're okay with that, but if you have better morals then don't.

SPOILER ALERT!!!
Yeah I'm sorry to say this but this series fell off so hard. I will explain all my gripes I had with the show but I'm not very descriptive so I won't go into too much detail. This is mainly about the second special so keep that in mind
1 and 2. Berdholts Titan comes out, grabs Reiner and bites his head off then throws his body into the ground. Reiner ends up being saved by Jean somehow, Jean holding him with one hand. Why is that? How is he not just dead after getting his whole head bit off? Connie is out because of
...
the throwing of the armored titan's body, Levi is about to fall to his death because he saves him, Connie wakes up and in .2 seconds saves him. Bro was just out and he's able to do that? Yeah he must be the goat.
3. OMG Mikasa has to make a decision! Let's see, does she choose Levi and Connie or Jean and Reiner? Falco to the rescue! Yeah he can fly now! Just after losing control of his Titan form and going berserk mode, he can fly. There was nothing important about him going berserk in the 4th season, he just went berserk one time. No character development for him getting better at using his Titan. Now, after going berserk, he's in full control and he can even fly! Not only that, this dude is the freaking US Navy Air Force the way he's flying. He dodges all arrows and even dives full speed, LITERALLY 0 hits.
4. Their mission is to save Pieck and Armin. Where's Pieck? Impaled on a Trident for 50 minutes. The Titan is just standing there, having her impaled like she's a dead fish and he's showing off his catch. And in the fight with her against multiple titans while Jean goes to save her, we figure out she can just eject and turn back into Titan form a lot because of her endurance, but she couldn't do it when she was impaled apparently. Only when the Titans manage to bite off her. She can just eject and re-titan. And again, somehow the Titans manage to miss her real body 3 times.
5. I kind of blame myself on this but I feel like if Armin is out cold he shouldn't be able to help the others not matter what. I'm not understanding on why he was just able to. I wish don't understand why killing Zeke stopped the rumbling when I thought Eren was controlling them all.
6. Reiner was able to survive an explosion despite his armor being broken. And after getting blown up, he's able to hold the worm back with the Titans grabbing and biting at him. I know he had help but literally they were just all grabbing at him, and he's all good except for some resistance.
7. Okay turning everyone into titans was like a damn, that felt a bit lazy but that sucks, all these ppl turned into titans, but at least some people die. Nope, after the whole fight, erens like "y'all aren't titans anymore." Cool. Literally no downside to the fact they turned into titans.
8. Mikasa kisses erens cut off head, is that not just weird? I know he loves her but still the mfkers head is cut off. I think it's just weird to decapitate someone and your first kiss with them is when they are dead.
9. NO ONE DIED THAT LAST EPISODE EXCEPT EREN AND HANGE IF YOU INCLUDE THE FIRST SPECIAL. They went to fight on a whole ass founding Titan, multiple titans marching under them and fighting the past Nine Titans on the back of Eren, with limited resources, families turned into titans. No one except eren and Zeke died that second special. No main characters, no side characters, no family. Only the ppl who died to the rumbling.
10. I'm sorry but erens reasoning made no sense. I killed 80 percent of all people so y'all can be heroes and be looked at positively. Killing 80 percent of all people is insane. Heartless character. And they just lived happily ever after. Such a basic "for the fans" ending. No one on the good side dies and they live happily ever after.
The animations and CGI were fine. Mappa definitely improved from the beginning but I much prefer wits presentation of everything. It felt like a whole different anime, but it felt more generic in mappas hands. The Levi Mikasa scene was super good, the Levi against Titans scene was pretty good the hange scene was good, but it's not enough for me to rate it well with all these things that happened in this final special. What a fall off. I had high hopes but they just let me down. I would say it was a 9 or 8 until the ending. Now it might even be a 3 for me. I can see why people like it but again, this ending is very "for the people" so people can feel happy about the outcome when it could have been so much more.
