Bias Review #001
What is life? One could describe it as a series of events that we take for granted. Nichijou (My Ordinary Life) displays just that. It shows the everyday things in life we take for granted and some of the first-world problems we have everyday, but in a overdramatized, comedic fashion. This anime has all the characteristics of a slice of life anime and a comedy. Sorry, I just woke up, too, so please excuse the blandness and errors of the review.
Story - 9/10
Nichijou's story is an interesting one because of the fact it has no linear story. Each episode will showcase one
...
or two events in a characters day. This makes for comedy gold due to some of the hilarious situations a character can get into, such as doodling a private picture in a notebook that they forgot to erase, and then letting a friend borrow it.
Art - 10/10
The art style of Nichijou is unique, and can't be described with any other word than awesome. The way things are illustrated makes the events that more dramatic.
Sound - 8/10
The Nichijou OST isn't the best, but it is good. Most likely, you won't hear a song that you'd download on your iPod and listen to (this excludes the OP and ED). The show has 2 kickass OPs, and the EDs are lighthearted and sound nice.
Characters - 10/10
Shit, I don't know why, but this is the one part of the review I'm seeming to struggle with. I'm finding it hard to conjure up the right words to describe the characters of Nichjjou because they are so damn unique. I'm sure many would disagree with me on that, but the fact that the characters can be so average seeming at one point, and then hyper as fuck is what makes it unique.
Overall - tenouttaten
Nichijou is a great anime and I definitely recommend it. It's one of my favorites (wow so bias) and it will most certainly be forever. If you have any criticism please tell me on my profile! Thanks!

"A good anime is classified by personal opinion. A masterpiece is indisputable" - Jesus Christ 2015
Rarely in the anime universe are there perfect animes. Cowboy Bebop had its flaws, Neon Genesis had a debatable ending, and Attack on Titan took too long for a second season. As far as we can see, and I speak for the whole of the MAL community, hell, everyone who watches anime knows that School Days and Mars of Destruction have been the farthest we've gotten to that perfect anime. Enter Nyoro-n Churuya-san. This anime is perfect in every shape and form. The characters are solid, the animation is nice,
...
sharp, and flows well. The voice acting sounds like they were voiced by angels themselves. The story, the fucking story. That's the main thing that makes Nyoro-n Churuya-san the perfect anime.
Churuya, the girl known as "that bright energetic (possible lesbo) girl". In this anime, we see not the energetic side of Churuya, but instead a darker side of her, as well as the darker side of the Haruhi universe and the characters in it. The story revolves around Churuya's tragic, heartbreaking struggle for survival, being starved by the SOS Brigade, and her only desire is for food. The only food at the evil club members disposal is smoked cheese, and they use said smoked cheese to taunt Churuya throughout the anime, prompting interesting and gruesome events. At the start, it seems cheerful, but watch on and you'll see how sickening the SOS Brigade really is. Churuya's struggle for survival will not only inspire you, but will wrench every last tear out of your tear ducts.
Nyoro-n Churuya-san is the perfect anime we've been looking for, and it definitely deserves its tenouttaten rating. Thank you.

Ah, Elfen Lied. An anime of much discussion, much of the discussion surrounding the shows dark themes and the many, many, MANY boobs shown. Hearing lots of praise for this show, I decided to give it a try, and was somewhat disappointed. That isn't to say I didn't like it, the show had many redeeming elements to it. Let's start off with its short comings, and then we can praise it to heaven and above.
No anime is perfect. Even your favorite anime has flaws. To begin, let's start off by analyzing the characters. My first issue with the characters is their piss-poor intelligence at some
...
points. To begin with, who in their right mind picks up a random naked girl without a second thought? It was an unrealistic reaction, one that somewhat takes one out of the emersion of the show. Here's another example, when Mayu finds the soldier on the ground, on the verge of death, her reaction was laughable. She was calm, and acted so 'stiff' about the situation. Again, it was unrealistic. The other issue I had with the show was the rushed feel at sometimes. I'm sure you are saying to yourself right now, "but euphoria it wus de onlee 13 episode! de have to rush it!". See, there lies the issue. It was thirteen episodes, damn long enough to get through everything without being rushed heavily. There, we got through the worst part. I didn't even complain about Lucy constantly saying "Nyuu!". Now we can praise it.
Elfen Lied had a story that was very good, and poses a question for the viewer, the question being, "What makes a human classified as a human?". In the show, you see the mutated humans being treated like animals, constantly being experimented on in brutal ways, all because they were born the way they were. They were 'unlucky' you could say. At a point, they are even refered to by certain characters as unhuman.
The music was great. The opening matched the theme of the show well, while mixing in the proper fanservice. That's a tenouttaten, in my book. The OST gave the show a certain ominous feel, and definitely worked well.
The art was good. The animators made sure to pay attention to detail enough just so they didn't overdo it. It was drawn well, and had no issues as far as I could see. Hell, I could be wrong about that. If you spotted an issue, feel free to tell me on my profile.
Elfen Lied was an enjoyable ride, and one I definitely recommend you partake in. If you have an issue with my review or have any advice or criticism, please feel free to visit my profile and drop a commento. I'd appreciate it.

"Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai", when compared to many other animes of the genre, it stands out from the crowd and pulls off something truly unique in a gruesome yet satisfying way. If you haven't seen "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni", do not watch Kai yet. With that being said, let's begin the review. This is my first review, so feedback is appreciated. This review is absolutely 100% spoiler free, so you can read it without being spooked. Also, this was written on my Wii U gamepad, so please excuse my mistakes.
Story - 10/10
The story of Higurashi is certainly a unique one
...
when compared to other anime. It is split into different scenarios, or arcs. There are the question arcs and the answer arcs. It takes place in Hinamizawa, a small village in Japan. It is June, 1987, and revolves around 6 (including Shion) schoolfriends, and their daily fun. At least, that is what the show wants the audience to believe. On first sight, one would believe that it is a peaceful town, and the 6 friends are just having lighthearted fun. That is not the case at all. The history of the town is soon learned by the protagonist, and each character is involved in it in some way. Every year, on the night of the cotton drifting festival, one person will die, and one goes missing. This cycle repeats forever, and usually involves many characters dying. This is the very basic plot of the first season. In Kai, it shows Rika Furuude's endless struggle of trying to defy fate and stop the endless June of terror.
Art - 8/10
The art and animation of the show is nothing special, it is average. Although, in Kai, it seems the animation was improved marginally from the first season, but again, it is still nothing special, and doesn't stand out that much from other animes of the genre.
Sound - 10/10
The fucking sound. Holy shit. The soundtrack has to be one of the best OSTs I personally have ever heard, each song fits the mood amazingly well. And then there's the OP. Jesus fucking christ on a stick is the OP of Kai phenomenal. It very easily and amazingly shows Rika's struggle, and puts you into a false sense of security at the beginning of the opening, demonstrating very well what the show is capable of. The ED is great, too.
Characters - 10/10
The characters are done very fucking well. One second Rena will be laughing with everyone, and the next second she will be slaughtering everyone without hesitation. This, again brings us back to the false sense of security I was talking about. The characters seem so out of place in the show upon first glance, but after watching the show, you can really realise how well they were executed. So noice.
Overall - tenouttaten
I'm sure many will disagree with me on this rating, but this show took me on a fucking swood journey that I never wanted to end. thx guise 4 tha review r8 5 stars also my dog has cancer so pls gif the spaghetti
