I hate writing bad reviews. It makes me think about the animators and voice actors that put hours of their time into producing this show. Even if that show turned out to be the most middling, insignificant piece of fiction that I have consumed in my entire life up to this point. I've seen good shows, I've seen bad shows, I've seen forgettable, but if a game show host came to me right now (about two minutes after I've finished the final episode) and asked me to recite the names of more than the two main characters, and maybe more than a single plot detail,
...
promising ten million dollars, I would go to sleep as broke as I was when I woke up this morning.
The character designs were good, yeah. The voice acting was fine, the animation was even good. The plot was just...imagine trying to fit five pieces of candy into one wrapper. To do that, you'd have to crush it down. Some of it wouldn't end up in the wrapper anyway. That's my go to metaphor for this show. Too much turned into too little and done in a way that makes it so horrendously bland. I tried, god, I tried, to use this show as something more than background noise, but even with my full attention on it, I captured nothing. Spare yourself the 4.5 hours it would take you to watch this show and take a nice nap.

Pon no Michi, a typical CGDCT 1 cour show. Being someone who doesn't normally watch this genre, I found myself wholeheartedly enjoying it more than some of the bigger titles this season.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, or even close to it, but at the same time, it's lighthearted and enjoyable. There have been some reviews complaining about how most of the girls have similar personalities, but it's a 1 cour show (12 episodes), and that doesn't leave much time for background or much development. The characters are likable despite their lack of development (besides them all becoming friends),
...
and the designs are honestly, great. While the CGI is a bit uncanny, the animation itself is great.
A good show to watch in the background, or even to focus on completely whether you're new to the CGDCT genre or you've seen many related shows before. This show's been my gateway into that genre, and now I'm thinking about watching other CGDCT shows. Once again, it's not everyone's thing, as the plot is well...slice of life worthy, and somewhat slow, though excellent if you want to zone out. Definitely give the first few episodes a try and see how you feel.

Fluffy Paradise: another one of the many isekai-type shows that come out each season, with a slight twist. Instead of focusing on the usual 'becoming the strongest' trope, the main character's goal is to pet as many cute animals as possible, which eventually transitions into saving as many cute monsters and animals as she can manage. Quite light-hearted and fun, good to focus on or as background noise, but by no means a masterpiece or one of the best of the Winter 2024 season. Although, some parts of the later episodes do hit quite hard, and I found myself tearing
...
up twice during the final episode. (Though this probably won't be a problem for most people, I'm really sensitive to emotional scenes.)
The cast of characters is relatively good, though some characters aren't focused on quite as much as I would like, with that screen time given to irrelevant side characters who change almost nothing about the plot, but isn't that almost every show? The voice acting is good, the animation is up to standard, and the art style is very cute. The story, while slow to pick up and somewhat inconsistent, with 'New Cute Animal of The Week' episodes for the first half, and then a random episode about embezzlement and tax fraud or something before the final arc, is however simple and easy to follow. It's not a show that you have to focus completely on to enjoy.
My final problem with the show is the main character's mental age. It's never explained how exactly her reincarnation worked, seeing as she acts and thinks like a child, even though she technically has the mind of an adult, but it's not something that's really distracting from the show. All in all, definitely a solid choice to watch for the Winter 2024 season, because we all need that dose of a cute character doing cute things.

Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for season 2 after the first few episodes. The time skip stuff has always been very confusing for me as a viewer, and it definitely took some time to pick up, but it got to a good place in the end. Not all of the supporting main characters are very likable, as they don't have much time to develop, but there was one character in particular who carried the supporting cast for most of the series: Bon.
Although what made him such a
...
unique character just...seemed to vanish in the last few episodes, his arc was wonderful to follow. It was clear that the arcs of some of the other characters fell short, like Eko, who never really had a proper conclusion, and the minute or two of summary for Fushi's friends in the last episode also could have been done better. Also, the romance arc was a bit cringey to watch. Despite these short-comings, it was pretty good overall.
