Neon Genesis Evangelion
Director: Hideaki Anno
Music by: Shiro Sagisu

Hugely experimental and outstandingly different, Neon Genesis Evangelion is an absolute masterpiece.

Story (10/10): It is the year 2015, fifteen years after a worldwide catastrpohic event ( the Third Impact) in the city New Tokyo-3. The main character is Shinji Ikari, a fifteen year old boy who was recruited by his father to the organization NERV to pilot a giant bio-machine mecha called an "Evangelion" and fight against alien beings called "Angels". The series explores the events of Shinji and the other characters and how they continue to live on in life and how they ...

Trigun (Anime) add
Trigun
Director: Satoshi Nishimura
Music by: Tsuneo Imahori
Original Creator: Yasuhiro Nightow

26 episodes of a masterpiece anime that mixed drama and comedy immaculately. Trigun found great popularity in the U.S., due to its run on Adult Swim's Toonami back in the day (2000's). It very excellently combined religion and pacifism in a morality story.

Story (10/10): The first half of the series (Episodes 1-11) are very light-hearted and comedic in tone and nature and introduce the characters. You may be uninterested or turned off by its sillyness, but if all of Trigun was a ultra dark show with over-the-top mayhem (like Berserk), the characters ...

Naruto Shippuuden: The Movie
Directed by: Hajime Kamegaki
Written by: Junki Takegami
Original Creator: Masashi Kishimoto

Naruto Shippuuden: The Movie is the fourth Naruto film overall and the first in the Shippuuden series which is based off of Part II of the Naruto manga written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. The film is directed by Hajime Kamegaki.

Story (7/10): A good story, but extremely predictable for a Naruto film. Naruto & company have to be bodyguards for a preistess and Naruto learns that he may die through a vision. However, everyone knows he keeps the preistess safe because this is Naruto, and that Naruto doesn't ...

Shingeki no Kyojin (Season 2)
Directors: Tetsurou Araki, Masashi Koizuka
Written by: Yasuko Kobayashi
Music by: Hiroyuki Sawano
Based on: Manga (Volumes 9-12)
Creator: Hajime Isayama

Story (8/10): I talked a lot about the story for my review of season 1 of Attack on Titan. My thoughts for the second season are exactly the same. Shingeki no Kyojin uses a cliche plot concept and makes it anything but cliche.

Art (9/10): The art is fantastic and is one of the main reasons why I prefer the anime of Attack on Titan over its original manga. WIT Studio did a fantastic job.

Shingeki no Kyojin
Director: Tetsurou Araki
Written by: Yasuko Kobayashi
Music by: Hiroyuki Sawano
Based on: Manga (Volumes 1-8)
Creator: Hajime Isayama

Story (8/10): From the very beginning, Attack on Titan has a very cliche and overused plot of "something and/or somewhat is invading humanity and we must defend the Earth at all costs"type of thing. The difference between Attack on Titan and all othe other shows that use this is that Attack on Titan uses unique plot points and gut wrenching pot twists that you would have never expected in a million years making Attack on Titan anything but cliche or unoriginal.

Art (9/10): The ...

Aggressive Retsuko manages to be very funny with just over 1 minute per episode.

Story (8/10): The story is very simple. It is about a red panda girl named Retsuko who has an office job. She deals with way too realistic and relatable
real world problems and when she can't take them anymore, she sings death metal and her reactions are priceless.

Art (8/10): The art is very good but nothing to die for.

Sound (8/10): The music while only being 2-3 songs, is fine considering the length of each and every episode.

Character (8/10): Retsuko is a great character and the side characters are ...

Mixed Feelings
FLCL Progressive
Directed by: Katsuyuki Motohiro

Story (4/10): The story is that there is no story really byt there are decent things that happen. There is this girl named Hidomi who has weird dreams and has giant robots come out of her head. She is what Naota was in the original FLCL. However, the story is somewhat better than the original FLCL while still being weird and incoherent.

Art (6/10): The art is good but lacks a lot from the original FLCL due to the fact that GAINAX dropped out from the project.

Sound (9/10): The Pillows returned to do the music for FLCL Progressive and ...
