Rage of Bahamut started off feeling like it would be this really epic but lighthearted swashbuckling adventure in a pretty cool fantasy world...but then from about half way through, it tries (and fails imo) to be serious. It loses a bit of its cool, its charm, and fun.
The main character Favaro is essentially a younger, more energetic version of Jack Sparrow- except he's a bounty hunter, not a pirate. He's cool, witty, pretty skilled in combat, and especially good at escaping just about any bad situation. But the rest of the characters are okay at best- Amira's fluffy, childish personality could be quite charming,
...
but the animation doesn't really fit that personality. Kaisar is a bit boring. And Rita, the zombie-raising witch, is pretty cool-kind of (slightly) reminds me of Toph from Avatar, but imo she doesn't get enough time to be as cool as she could be.
But the problem is that the characters and the setting and the music, and especially the first few episodes, make it feel like this is going to be an adventure. Amira's goal is to get to Helheim, and she hopes that Favaro will take her there, since she's convinced that he knows how to get there (and of course, he doesn't). That gave the impression, at least to me, like they would be going to different towns on a quest to get to Helheim, with Favaro getting into and out of trouble everywhere they go, with Kaisar following them and trying to catch Favaro.
But then demons and dragons and a war from long ago comes up and it turns into a generic action adventure where the 'chosen hero', Favaro has to save the world...and tbh, I would have rather not had that. Of course, it's more fun and charming than most animes with this type of story- mostly due to Favaro himself, as well as the music and setting that give it a more adventurous tone. But I don't like the direction it went, especially since they end up staying in one city for the slower second half. But if I had to give some credit to the second half....(spoiler alert for the very bottom of this review)
But I must say, the show does leave on a note that gives me hope that if they ever make a second season, that we might actually get that adventure that I craved in the first half.
AGAIN, SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
Normally in a show, movie, etc. like this, they'll make Amira turn evil, and then everyone keeps telling the main hero that there's nothing he can do but to kill her, but at the last moment the hero manages to save everyone AND keep her alive. While I do sometimes like that not everyone has to die, there are few shows that I've seen that can do it in a way that doesn't feel too forced, out of the blue, and same-old same-old.
But in Bahamut, Favaro actually does sacrifice Amira (or at least it seems that way) to save the world. I must say I'm impressed by the fact that it broke that cliche. It actually was a pretty sad scene.

For many, the Gargantia series was a hit or miss. Personally, I really liked it, but it wasn't as good toward the end as it was at the beginning. I thought they could have done with a few more episodes, since it was the pacing that killed the end for most people. And now that we have 2 more episodes- both depicting backstories of characters who do kind of need development, so how are they?
Ep 14: I thought this was a pretty okay episode, but kind of forgettable. It showed the backstory of Rigit, the captain of Gargantia. It was a bit sad but far

from tearjerking, and it didn't really do much to flesh out her character. But it had a few funny moments and of course we get to see more of that gorgeous animation that I think everyone can agree is always a positive part of this anime. 7/10
Ep 15: I really liked this one. It gave more backstory to the main antagonists and you see how he goes from a pretty good guy to the dickbag you see in the main series. And there is quite a bit of darkness and emotion in this one. I'd give it a 9/10

If there was one word to describe this anime, it would be: ADORABLE!!! This is a kind of slice-of-life anime, but with some harmless action (however weird that sounds) and harem.
Story: There isn't much of an overarching story, just people living their lives in this beautiful and (for the most part) always peaceful world. There is a bit of an underlying plot where one character has to do things that they don't want to, for the sake of another person. But other than that there's nothing much to it.
But I think that's what makes it so enjoyable-you get to enjoy the world
...
of Biscotti, with its cute characters and amazingly beautiful world. However, I do think they could have focused more on the world- maybe the main character could have gone on quests throughout the world so we could see different parts of the world, but as it is, I guess we can ope season 3 has more of the world.
Sound: I enjoy the music quite a bit- especially the openings.
Art: The world is gorgeous, and the characters are adorable
Character: I guess a lot of people would argue that none of the characters go through any real struggles, and therefore they come off as not having characters in the first place. And while there is one character who does go through some change, and there are characters affected y that, for the most part those people are right that there is no change. But in this show, there doesn't need to be- all the characters are innocent and adorable, and the world is peaceful for that. I feel like having this kind of perfect world shows that we don't NEED to have wars and fighting and death- it is POSSIBLE for people to live in peace.

I was very interested in this anime at first- it was a fantasy ecchi harem, and I have enjoyed shows like that in the past.
Story: At the beginning it looked promising. But then the story got so convoluted and over-complicated, and it kept tripping and falling all the way till the end.
The art: Wasn't the worst, but I have seen much better.
Sound: The opening theme is awesome, the dubbed voices are pretty good. I usually didn't watch the ending theme, so I cannot comment on that
Character: There was literally only 1 character I liked throughout, and that was Kena- I liked her fluffy

personality, and it created a nice foil for the trying-to-be-really-dark story. Other than that, they were your typical harem bunch: the tsundere (and I normally don't mind tsundere characters, but this one was just...idk- all I know is I didn't care for her), the android-girl-with-no-emotion, etc. Even the main character Akuto Sai who starts off a pretty okay character (mildly curious, and a good-guy-who-is-thought-to-be-bad-by-everyone-but-is-actually-good) just gets boring after a while.

Personally, this anime is amazing. It is hilarious most of the time and yet it also has some really serious and really emotional moments. Yes, there is a LOT of fanservice and it does go overboard with that, but that adds to the humor. And with the main premise being about the biggest pervert of all time getting, essentially, a Fairly Odd-Parent to do whatever he wants, you kind of expect these kinds of wacky and hilarious situations. But then the darker parts, with the people in the New World being the worst people in existence, really get to me- it makes for a really

good contrast between the comedy and the seriousness. And while I might've wanted a bit more of the serious scenes, I still love this show.
