If you are fine with works that end partway through and will never be finished, and you enjoy good yuri, this is worth reading. The characters are interesting, and the love story is compelling. The main characters actually marry in the first chapter due to an arranged marriage, and the rest of the story is about the two trying to learn to love each other (and for Nina to learn to accept her role in being forced to move away from home into a political marriage). To be honest, this is a case where I prefer the spin-off over the original. One of the largest complaints people have with TenSura is how overpowered the protagonist quickly gets. Trinity in Tempest, on the other hand, has protagonists that are only slightly above average, and it's all the better for it. Trinity is definitely a companion to TenSura - if you go into this without knowing what's going on in the main series, you'll probably be confused by some of the plot points or feel that things are glossed over.
But where this spin-off shines is giving a spotlight to the side characters ... |
