As you know, this is a recap. It goes through what we have been through with a fine balance. I think the recap was pretty good, just like any other one I guess. There isn't much to say about this, I can say that they made the best out of the time they were given. The small details and not so good moments wasn't included, so I guess that could be noted down as a good thing.
Thanks for reading. I like to keep recap reviews short, sorry for any inconvenience.

Finally we get another Berserk anime adaption, we can't help but expect highly. Of course it's fine to expect high but for your own good, put those expectations away and listen to what I have to say.
This season of Berserk brings us a totally different animation, camera angles and sound effects. I will explain these 3 in detail below.
ANIMATION:
This time CG is used for the entire anime. Not like the movies, this is done in just CG with it's own unique style. This unique style isn't interesting to be honest, it's just how the characters were adapted by the studio. The character always have
...
faded lines on them. The reason why they put them there I don't know. In any case the CG can get very bad, this also makes it difficult for us to get into and actually concentrate.
CAMERA ANGLES:
This is important for any anime to succeed, having a great camera movement and positioning. Unfortunately this anime didn't have neither. It was very messy, this leaves the audience confused at times because the camera angles doesn't follow the rules. This is no doubt the biggest flaw.
SOUND:
op&ed - The opening is bait, it's very catchy but the anime doesn't live up to what the op shows us.
sound effects - Right now get two saucepans and clash them againts eachother and get used to the sound. That sound is a very similar to the sound effect of Guts sword. I personally like it so i'm not complaining but there is a lot of criticism about this. If's not metal then there isn't much to discuss.
sound tracks - Very good tracks that work well for this anime. Sometimes the tracks are used wrongly but overall the soundtracks play the most important part.
Those features in Berserk (2016) is what made it unsuccessful. ^
CONTENT:
Arcs skipped - 2
Filler amount - almost a whole episode
Story - interesting and fun at the same time. Not great progress but good development.
CONCLUSION:
It's disappointing, but you shouldn't lose hope in the modern Berserk. It improves but not enough to prevent users dropping it. It's your decision on what your going to do but remember that this might be the last Berserk series we going to get. You could always wait and wait for a doubtful better adaption.

So this summaries both Modern Berserk seasons. It has a quick pace and skips too much. Since this is a recap it, skipping scenes isn't a problem but for this it's ridiculous. It basically flies through everything we watched.
We go through the same disappointments and miss some important scenes, I don't think someone who just wants to add Berserk to their list by just watching a recap would understand it.
Going through this recap you notice a few things that you might of not entirely paid attention to before. It's possible you will see how crap some scenes actually were.
Thanks for reading. I kept it short
...
because no one wants to read a detailed recap review.

At first it looks fine and slightly interesting, but after episode 1 it starts to get boring. Since the series revolves around Kabuki, we all or at least some of us know it's a classic style of Japanese dance-drama crap that is shi... can be boring. The mc tries to make a Kabuki Club at school but this character is annoying AF sometimes. He basically shouts out these Kabuki lines in public... the anime is based on this weird shouts with make-up... sorry this is just my emotions. Anyway it's not the studio fault, it's just the plot. There might be people out there
...
who love it but for most of us it's just another anime about weird club activities, it's probably predictable too.
I give the green light to watch but don't go in this expecting a calm kabuki club in a school, shit will happen and Cringe will happen too. I'm personally not gonna enjoy watching the rest.
After I make preogress I will update.

Just another anime about a bunch of cute creatures living with a girl. You can skip the "SPOILER" paragraph, although it's only very minor spoiler.. anyway please enjoy.
The cute creatures this time are... basically what I just said. I can't explain any further than that, anyway they have their own reasons for being in the care of Yuuka-san. Yuuka-san is an ordinary girl who enjoys helping people out. In the first episode she helped someone in the first few minutes of appearing. You probably understand by now that she is a nice girl who would look after even creatures she wouldn't even think existed. Considering
...
what has happened so far you can assume that Yuuka-san and co. will hear out anyone in the need of help. It's more or less because of Yuuka-san personality, of course these cuties don't mind. So far one of the creatures, ................. (1). The other is from the depths of earth who can't go back down (I think it was all that candy he ate). In any case, they are happy with Yuuka-san and try to find their way back to their homes at their own pace.
The animation is similar to the other OLM anime, this way it's really cute and childish. I tell you this now, don't go into this anime if you think it's any better than the other cute OLM anime. It's not that interesting so don't say I didn't tell you so.

(1) An alien is stuck on earth due to her spaceship breaking down.

The setting is always set in a elementary school. In that school a classroom is run by a unintelligable teacher who isn't human. That classroom is where you will be witnessing the carefree life of Pascal-sensei.
In the first episode you get a glimpse of the young elementary students, not to forget the animation that shows the students young and innocent side. It really is interesting seeing such a colourful and cute design for the kids. The animation is childish and likable. It's easy to adapt to and shows no problems to point out at.
Throughout the episode there may be changes of scenes entirely, it might
...
look like the episode has finished but it actually just changes to something else different from what was previously displayed.
The opening is fine, nevertheless the ending is not good at all. The ending is not animated and features real people dancing. I tend to skip it. The music in the episodes are fine but nothing to get worked up over.
The comedy is usually finely balanced, although at times it can get overboard. It's possible that you will get a good laugh from it but the laugh for us and for younger people are most likely different. The comedy isn't bad, yet there is room for improvement.
The characters are very interesting, from the elementary schoolers to the teacher. The personalities of each character is unique. Pascal-sensei for example has a innocent yet carefree personality that makes him stand out and this is how we all see him. A newly introduced character had a self-centered personality, still he had his good sides and the moment where he looked like he mistook Pascal sensei.
Thats it for now, I will update this through out my watch. At the moment this is not so good but I will improve it.

I will say this in advance, if you judge the flaws too much your enjoyment will spoil. I highly suggest you rather go into this knowing that it's going to be the exact CG and features as last season or continue being a perfectionist and be very disappointed. It's the simple matter of knowing what to expect.
There's a "episodic" section and a "features & info" section. The () with numbers in them represents spoilers for the spoiler paragraph. If you want, check out the stats paragraph that goes through the current and previous stats.
**************************************************************
FEATURES & INFO
...
ANIMATION/ART/MOVEMENT:
So we know that it's CG, however there is more to it than you might think. The 2D, 3D, art, pace and movement is gonna be looked upon this season. The question is, has it changed for the better? Yes, but not entirely. The character details of random people can look very lazy in some cases. They don't get enough screen time so I understand, though you will notice it.
The characters look the same, but this time it's easier to take in.
The art can be beautiful, this includes the scenery and general use. The art isn't perfect so just keep that in mind.
The movement is very frustrating, especially in the background. The background characters comes to an absolute stop at several occasions and it just ruins the mood. Taking 4:33-4:38 from episode 8 for example, the movement of the characters that should be moving just stopped (7). In any case, it will become easier to handle the CG. Unless your allergic to CG.
CAMERA:
The angles are fine but sometime it can be over used. When the camera moves from showing the characters face to a position just behind them, viewing what the character sees... it can get a little old. This is only me though, I notice the camera movement much more for this anime compared to everything else I've watched. The camera angles and movement is much better than the prequel, I would rate it a 7/10. So far the anime doesn't have any filler, but that doesn't mean they don't skip minor details. Scenes get rushed every so often, of course it's to fit more material.
MUSIC/SOUND:
The music is important to anime and this anime was spot on in this area. The opening and ending is something to look forward to. The Sound effects are more or less the same but I like the sound of Guts sword in particular. The soundtracks are the same and good as ever. In episode 3 at 6:49-7:53 the soundtrack was perfect for the scenery and speech, even though this soundtrack has been used in the other Berserk anime it still was lovely. The voice actors/actresses work well with the characters, no flaws at all in the voices. There may be some characters that will grow on you due to the VA. Seeing Puck and ...... fighting with voices was much more enjoyable compared to the Manga (5). The sound is one of the best aspects of this anime, without the soundtracks and songs... It wouldn't be as great.
MY ENJOYMENT:
Seeing my favorite manga adapted is very very exciting, I have been waiting for this for a long time. As I stated I was disappointed, yet I enjoyed it so much that I can re-watch it anytime. I always get shivers down my spine from just watching the opening and a few moments during the episodes. For the opening I like the art and basically how it was made. Just seeing the animation and movements of the white and black still characters is satisfying enough for me. I admit the manga is better but I need music and voices, I don't care about these peoples criticism.
MY THOUGHTS:
"What can anime do that manga can't? What by definition is possible through the medium of animation that is not possible by a series of printed pictures on paper (manga)?". This here is what I think that keeps lot's of people going, the color, sound and movement. This is a good point about the anime, it has these things that the Manga doesn't have. Does it mean it's better than the Manga? No. Does it mean that we get to hear voices we only imagined in our heads? Yes. Anyway I'm just happy we have gotten this far in the anime.
The quote in the paragraph above was originally written by another user, I got his permission to add this to my review.
CONCLUSION:
This season looks better than the prequel, mostly the camera angles and music. It's definitely worth watching. It's possible that you will find this very entertaining like me. Remember it still has big flaws.
**************************************************************
EPISODIC
FIRST EPISODE:
The first 2 minutes of the first episode was perfectly done. From 00:07-2:07, the art was amazing and the 2D animation worked perfectly for it (Since I was using kissanime the time may vary. It's about a 6 second difference without KA). The characters had faded lines near their body parts just like the previous season but it was no doubt 2D. This was a perfect start to the anime and the opening after that scene made it even better, especially listening to another 9mm Parabellum Bullet song. Just as you finish watching the opening you will undoubtedly come upon the same CG animation as the prequel. To be frank, it was kind of disappointing. I knew what I was going into but I was unable to prevent thinking, "What would Berserk look like if it wasn't CG". The CG can get rather inadequate, yet it does grow on you. Look, I'm going to be straight forward with this... seeing the 3D characters talking and moving was very unsatisfying. It's possible that this episode will worry you for the upcoming episodes, but rest assured it does get better. During 09:07-15:50 there is a big fight. In that big fight at 10:17-10:19, 11:06-11:43, Guts and someone else clashes swords several of times (1). For this fight it was said to be swords clashing in repeated motions. I reduced the speed to 0.15 to confirm what a youtuber (Professor Anime) said, on the end he was half right. At 19:32-20:30 the scene had a mixture of 2D and 3D, specifically at 19:53-20:30 was just 2D. I couldn't ask for anything better for that bloody scene (when I said bloody I mean blood rushing out of a head and arrow shots). That short battle scene was much better than how the movies executed them. Another good animation scene was at 21:20-21:35, it was superior to all of the prequels moments. Presumably, by now you know that Berserk has it's fair share of 2D scenes, but this is very limited to just close up's and short scenes.
SECOND EPISODE:
At 3:44-4:30, a demon (call it what you want) appeared and I must say that the animation was crap. I just didn't buy it, it was like it was cut out straight out of the manga and just put in 3D without bothering putting in better details in it. At 6:02-16:15 it was a flashback of ****** past, for the whole 10 minutes it was 2D (2). The content in that 10 minutes was very important since it was clearing up that uncertainty about ****** that's been going on since the prequel. Making the flashback with the 2D was what made this episode successful. At 20:34-21:00 it was missing one thing... it was nipples. It's got nothing to do with my sexual desire, it's what I think would work for such a moment. I would like to see more mature scenes because this is Berserk after all.
THIRD EPISODE:
At 16:35-18:22 this was the area where I was most worried, but I was impressed. The soundtrack worked very well with the scene and the animation wasn't a burden to the content at all. At the scene there was a bunch of demons in a cave, it could of gone so wrong but it was saved by the 2D moments. To be honest everything was fine for me, it's other people I was worried about. Around 35 seconds out of the 1.48 minutes was 2D and I tell you this now, 17:02-17:30 was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. It was one of the best animation moments of the series since it looked professionally animated.
FIFTH EPISODE:
This episode here is very important. It contains a turning point that changes what we have been seeing for the whole series to something entirely new. We have been witnessing bloodbaths and demon slaying, now a new genre kicks in and brings us to a new interesting arc (3). This episode also had a change of pace. We got a break from the constant killing and can watch the characters enjoy the peaceful time. Another important feature was the 2D. The important scenes had 2D and I got to say that this was crucial. I would of loved it if the whole series was made like that, however this is one of the flaws we have to deal with. 14:46-19:00 was entirely 2D.
SIXTH EPISODE:
Another episode the studio couldn't mess up, they showed what we Berserk fans wanted. (6) This whole sentence can't possibly be put in non-spoiler form. Not big spoiler but things you don't know of yet. In this episode I realised how much Farenese-sama character has developed. A massive improvement and I consider her cute in 3D and 2D (waifu nearly). I had a laugh at a few scenes in this episode. Guts sword handling was better than earlier this season, I say it was the best of the modern Berserk. 3D didn't screw up anything for me for the past few weeks if I must say.
SEVENTH EPISODE:
The action in this episode beats everything so far. It can sometimes look like a PC game in some scenes, but the actual fighting and such is great. Of course it can't be perfect but I personally think that some of the camera angles didn't work out.
------------------------------------------------------------------
SPOILER (OPTIONAL):
(1) In this battle Guts faces Zodd one-on-one. The speed of this battle is crazy to the point that you don't know what's going on. The 3D in this didn't work out that well in my opinion.
(2) A flashback of Farnese-sama's past. Regarding her past, it was slightly rushed especially around the time when Serpico had the duel and a few other parts. To be honest this isn't worth mentioning because it's very minor.
(3) This episode brings the topic of the spirit realm and the talk of Astral beings. Not to mention the newly introduced spirits called Sylphs, air elementals. The sylph sword held by Serpico was brilliant. Also the introduction to Salamanders, fire elementals. Basically the fantasy side of Berserk.
(4) This episode introduces us to the Trolls. It would of been better if their body hair didn't look like it had gel in it. btw I wasn't making fun of it, I was simply pointing out it's flaw. You should know from last season anyway.
(5) In episode 5 during 5:46-6:58, Puck and Evarella fights for an acorn. It's possible to miss it because it happens during a important conversation.
(6) Serpico tries out his sylph sword against trolls, he was the best character in this episode. The animation of the magic was brilliant, the colors too.
(7) So a troll was raping a woman in a 2 second scene and after that, 7 or so Trolls was showed in the background raping with no movement... it was very disappointing.
------------------------------------------------------------------
STATS (OPTIONAL):
(+)(-) = is rating increase or decrease from the last edit.
The prequel Berserk (2016) has 46,610 users scored out of 110,842 members. That is a 64,232 users who didn't score.
Berserk (2017) on the other hand has 7,569 users scored out of 41,702 members. That means that 34,133 members who didn't score due to several reasons that you probably get an idea of. In the end 69,140 members from Berserk (2016) decided to not add the sequel to their lists. This is assuming that all users added (2016) to their list before (2017).
The prequel has a score of 6.77 and previously had a score of 6.13 when it was airing. Berserk (2017) however has the score of 7.39 (0.04-) and beats its prequels airing score by 1.26 with room for improvement. Anyone can see that there has been a improvement in the scores.
From when I first made this review, there was a big change.
For Berserk (2016), there was a 5,281 increase of users scored and a 4,830 increase of members.
For Berserk (2017), there was a 3,039 increase of users scored and a 6,610 increase of members.
I basically said everything I wanted to say, I leave the decision of watching it to you. I spent a lot of time on this review, I hope it helped. Just in case you liked the stats, the recordings are on my profile.

Here it is after waiting for years or months for those who recently watched S1 (lucky you didn't wait over 3 years). I think we all have great expectations for this second season, but knowing it only has 12 episodes, it is a let down (for me anyway). ok let's start the review.
From what I watched so far I can say one thing... BRILLIANT, absolutely brilliant. Very well made and didn't change too much. Seeing the same old voices and characters after a long time brought back memories from when I watched it years ago, it was emotional for me. The creators took the first
...
season in consideration so we can experience the same thrills for the Opening and soundtracks.
Straight off the bat, it's tense and keeps you at the edge of your seat. The one thing we are most likely happy about is that it's FINALLY telling us What the hell is going to happen. Not making any progress at a stage where we want to know more is annoying but we overcame that and now we can make progress in the plot. The events so far in this season is by far more interesting than anything that has happened so far in this series. It's not predictable and very entertaining. This just shows how much effort the studio put into this.
The sound is very similar to the first season, which is a very good thing. The opening and ending is too amazing for me to handle, I get shivers down my spine from watching them. The soundtracks make the fighting scenes so much better and it made me think, "this is just like the first season". The sound is one of the best aspects that beats the Manga to pulp 10x fold. I quit the Manga because I needed this.
The characters are the exactly the same. Seeing the same personalities after a long time is pure happiness. All the tension in the first few episodes brings out each characteristics, the emotions of fear and bravery that is. You get to see a new side to the characters, a side that you didn't know or could ever imagine. I was really shocked on episode 4, I didn't expect that character to be like that (don't want to spoil).
The art is beautiful, the scenery and the characters are all perfect (for me anyway). The art of the unexpected appearance of Titan/s is really good. They just come out of no where and you see a giant Titan face still. The animation of them parts are 10/10. The animation is 100% satisfying and can't be anymore perfect for a plot like this.
I enjoyed this to a 10/10 level, everything has got me interested and I have to watch it on a big screen in 1080p with high volume or I won't be satisfied. Waiting for the next episode is absolute torture for me, I honestly think that this is the best anime of the season. I'm going to stop this paragraph here before I get off topic, don't want to go on and on u know.
You should watch this now and experience this amazing anime first hand. I recommend you go to 9anime. to and watch this on a big screen with high volume just like I do, it might change your watching experience. Anyway thanks for reading my review and I will update it through out my watch.

Some say watch the movie before the series but didn't and I'm glad. Going into this series was really hard, the main reason is because it was always cringe for me from episode 1-12. The wake Up Girls try to get popular and work them selfs to the top. This is the part that annoyed me. Every time they go on stage or do something idol related, they always fail in some way leading to cringe. I feel the need to skip scenes all the time because of this. At the first stage performance of the anime, it was horrible and couldn't be anymore disapointed.
...
Especially when they used bikini's... it was not fan service or a good performance in my eyes, it was entirely cringe... just looking at them thinking they were doing good was even more cringe.
The flaw in this anime in my eyes is the lack of balance. The balance of going through bad and good times. That goes with success and failure too. Not going to name individual music anime but balancing that out could of improved my rating and thoughts of the anime. Honestly though, who would always want to see failures and depressed faces ( if u watched idol Jihen then u would know what I mean even more). Anyway this is the area that made me cringe every episode, no great moments on stage until the last few episodes and just absolutely embarrassing themselves. I mean this quite seriously, they were annoying AF.
Moving away from the bad sides of the anime, I will dedicate this paragraph to the good points (thank me). First, From only being local unknown idols they went through some god-like development to get into the finals in episode 12. They didn't get as much training as their opponents but that was without a doubt inevitable, you will understand when if you watch it. Improving after failures is supposedly a good point but there's also a point for how much a watcher can handle these fails. Moving fowards towards their dreams when they hit slumps and get into fights, that was probably difficult for them but they didn't ever give up ( looked like some nearly did though) so I give them credit for dedication and motivation.
The characters in this were sometimes just "no good", like for instance crap directors who look like they are just trying to show the idols bad sides. The art was nothing special but a few face designs made me think for a few moments thinking stuff like,"what's up with that chin outline but we all get that like for Occultic Nine. The sound was the best thing I enjoyed about the anime, the lives and the music in general is good.
With that all said, no anime can be perfect so if your going to watch this then prepare for the things I said. This is all my thoughts so it may differ with your views. Allow me to take some more of your time to give you a review based on how the anime is in general not based on my likes and what not.
Its not a garbage anime at all, if anything it has high potential. It improved and did a great job with making the watchers emotion go wild. Its definitely worth the watch but its not a steady ship with no waves, it's a rocky ship at night during a storm. Either way you end up at the destination of your desire. So we are going to take the route of hardships and watching over the troubled idols but it's still entertaining in the end.
I'm ending this review here, please keep my review in mind if your planning to watch it. Hope I helped.

May contain very minor spoilers that won't affect your watching experience. If by any chance you didn't like it then message me and I will edit it out.
First up the Story is more or less the same, about a 10 year old boy named Satoshi aiming to be a Pokemon Master. Usually Satoshi collects gym badges and enters the league, but this time it's different . Satoshi's new adventure is on a island with new pokemon and new friends. I'm not going to explain the plot anymore because I don't want to ruin anyones experience. The story improves significantly in time, but you have to
...
get used to the changes at your own pace. it look me 3 episodes to get used to for example.
The most noticeable change in Sun & Moon is the animation style. This change is the most criticized, after all Satoshi was starting to look much more mature in XYZ. Yes, he looks much more of a kid, but how old is he? 15? 16? No, he is 10. He's been 10 since 1997. This criticism is very annoying. Anyhow, the animation suits the setting very well and also makes it more funny.
The soundtracks suit the battling very well, not to mention the funny moments. The opening song is addicting and the ending song is amazing. For Pokemon you don't have to worry about the sound of the music or alike.
Every individual character has their own personality. Their personality is what makes the show entertaining. For example, Lillie is too afraid to touch Pokemon. The characters design works well with the plot and everything else.
I love Sun & Moon to bits. It's my life right now. #1 favourite anime at the moment and will stay that way. The reasons I love it is because of the comedy, animation, new pokemon and Z-Powers.
Satoshi going to school wasn't the anime fault, it's the game. If you don't like it then consult nintendo. A change is not always bad, in this case it is perfect. Seeing Satoshi Lose in the league again and again wasn't exactly the best anyway .
Thanks for reading and give Sun & Moon a try. I will prob edit in a few months. I haven't checked for errors.
