I was first introduced to the series via YT Crunchyroll collection videos, which I deemed quite funny, so I decided to watch it
I wasn't disappointed. Mairimashita! Iruma-kun is an interesting blend of comedy, superpowers and school with lots of unusual situations thanks to school being located in Demon realm. Side characters are entertaining and have unique different personalities, main characters also grow through the season and not in strength alone - they develop as Iruma friends and supporters. Honestly, this anime was so addictive to watch that I hardly can stop watching (it is one of strengths of this anime). Every new episode was different,
...
and in a good way. It was never boring because main and side characters work so well to entertain viewer. And thanks to different personalities, characters sometimes interact in unusual ways that spice up the comedy.
Also, Iruma himself is a strong character, not in brute strength, but in heart. It's a rare sight in anime when 14 y.o. act mature and can splendidly overcome obstacles - and not thanks to being ridiculously OP like in some battle shonens, but thanks to sharp mind and determination. His convictions in firework arc were simply beautiful. He is, indeed, deserve praises of fellow demons.
I wish there were more Ameri, because she looks like a strong female lead and is gorgeous in terms of beauty and character. Hopefully, there will be more Ameri x Iruma interactions in latter seasons. Opera and Sullivan are also very amusing characters, looking forward to seeing them in future too.
P.S. Opening is a mess of syllables more than song, yet it is so catchy that I sang along sometimes. Probably looked very silly haha

What if you combine mahou shoujo anime and wedding theme with a lot of English named things? You will get Ai Tenshi Densetsu Wedding Peach!
If I had one word to describe this anime, it would be "Pure". It is basically a trio of high school girls/magical girls fighting evil while being dressed as brides. A lot of school life, first love, hardships, monsters, saving the world - all the normal school stuff, nothing new here. There are a lot of comparisons with Sailor Moon - and yes, it is indeed correct (it uses almost same formula for villains and monsters of the week), Ai Tenshi
...
resembles Sailor Moon a lot... and as you can guess it didn't work good for critical reception of this anime. Coming out in 1995, it were overshadowed by SM and in result not many people know about existence of Ai Tenshi. Me myself only found it while looking at old anime mag scans.
BUT! As I may say, Ai Tenshi is not worse than SM. In fact, it has own upsides. Wedding thematic is... well, novelty in mahou shoujo anime. Also, music is fantastic, OP/ED are really melodic and these songs as beautiful as heroines are. And watching this, you can really dive in 90s anime aesthetic. Characters develop strong bonds through story, and sometimes you wonder if they really could beat "the great big bad". And I would also like to praise monsters, uhh, I mean, demons designs - there are so many with various powers, appearances and even characters, that I wouldn't mind even them being one trick pony.
So overall it is good mahou shoujo anime. Would recommend if you like 90s and classic themes like humans vs. monsters, or angels vs. demons in this particular example. And if you are looking for more Sailor Moon like anime - this is a great one to watch!

Ah yes, anime with horribly chosen target audience. Almost everything go wrong because of this.
They chose Shinto as main base (rituals, prayers, symbolic, Mikos, etc.), but slapped Mechas on top of this. You can say sure, there are examples of that like Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon (to a lesser degree). But then you realize that plot revolves around girls love, and it can be indeed called Yuri because there are a lot of such relationships happen. And you think - Oh, how cool, at least Yuri fans can rejoice... yet then anime introduce male MC, and they form a love triangle. And boy, it is bad.
...
Let me summarize what we have so far:
Mechas - check, but there are better series with only Mecha setting;
Shinto and related to it stuff - this is one of the strongest points of anime because it makes unique setting;
Yuri - check, but it was slammed down by introducing male MC, so it's not pure Yuri, be wary of this;
Hetero romance (?) - but this one was unneeded and got rid of halfway through anime
So as you can see, there are mix of all things that interacted very poorly in practice. In the end, there is nothing in particular that turned out good. Maybe Shinto setting alone because it had some deep lore, but this alone is not enough to make viewers happy. Romance turned out quite bad, mecha fights were lackluster and there are anyway better options, yuri was ruined with male MC that somehow persisted to the end even when anime again turned to the yuri moments. In the end, it is hard to enjoy this mess of things.
Sure, art is beautiful, and character designs are diverse and gorgeous in some cases. But honestly, it is just good-looking (for 2004 anyway) candy, with nonsensical story and poor explanation. What I mean by poor explanation? Anime starts from a point where nothing explained, and you struggle to understand unraveling events. And this kind of persists through the whole anime. There are some explanation near the end, but overall it's just not enough to make the story solid. I would never recommend this to anyone, since it appeals to no one in particular, as I described above.
It looks like a bad anime experiment if you ask me. Failed one, as user rating shows.

So, Shield Hero S2 is out now, and I finally watched it, fully aware of low rating (somehow even hentai has better ratings). And I can understand now why.
Long story short - it just lacks. Everywhere. While it is not horrible, it is worse than S1 in many terms.
Spirit tortoise arc is disaster. I'm not going to try expert glasses and diss animation as others, but let me get it straight - whole 6 episodes can be explained in one sentence. "Shield hero and his party fights giant 3DCG tortoise... twice". This is pretty much it. There are however two new characters, but only
...
one of them matters for this arc and I guess it passes as story driving character. Other character is discovered mostly in second arc. As for 1st arc, what can I say - there is just a giant field of battle and one tortoise and that's it. Battles are lacking impact since they battle an enormous foe. There are no new stories or new unfolding relationships, except with only one story driving character - with Ost... but since she is there for only one arc it is rushed and cramped introduction. There are no travels, no new encounters, except for a new antagonist... and boy, he is worse than Malty (no spoilers, see for yourself). But since Kyo had very little amount of screen time there were almost no explanation of his actions, no motives, it's just "mad scientist" who cares of no one. I barely kept myself awake watching this arc - just shows how poorly it was made. Poorly and boring. 3/10 for this arc
Second arc is kind of better. New world like Japan, a lot of pretty clothes, eastern architecture, and finally some more new faces, who at least had some character development. But! It's kinda lame how Endless Labyrinth was depicted, this place should be a serious challenge to break out, but Naofumi got out almost instantly? Seriously? And this is when his companion was here for weeks/months? Makes little to no sense. Regardless, it was okay to watch. A lot of travels, new encounters, new faces, new stories and even funny moments - way better than 1st arc. The second arc had its own problems, like zero explanation of meaning of vassal katana (and why Larc was scared of it) or why in the world it appeared in Raphtalia hands... or where does it go after they all returned to the original world. And yeah, while Kyo was indeed a nasty bastard that somehow outshine even Malty atrocities, he is kinda one-dimensional character. "I despise you because I can and shower everyone with curses and bad words just to show how evil I am". IDK, it's kinda lame as villain. Yeah, it makes viewer hate this character as much as shield hero hates him, but can't they write Kyo better? Still, I give that arc 7/10
Ep13 is recap/filler with additional scenes. Also, cute Raphtalia. And oh god, Cast Away reference (2000 movie) Though, it's odd to watch it after S2 finale.
ED is good, while OP sucks - song don't go well with video, especially when rap suddenly breaks out. Also, choosing music genre fusion for this opening was a mistake.
All in all, S2 was mediocre. And so I gave it a mediocre 5/10. Worse than S1, and 1st arc was slow and dull, 2nd arc better and thrilling. But this is not the sequel that I was hoping for. Now I feel like S3 gonna be challenge for studio, since they had to reignite viewers interest and hope. Because alas, S2 didn't live to crowd expectations and its low rating is well deserved.

There is not much to say here - just one thing, this is a masterpiece indeed.
After watching over 400 anime, I could say that Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Ultra Romantic deserves 10/10. Both as romantic comedy and anime itself because it can compete with other genres and earned solid place in top of all anime ever made.
You know, romantic comedy is a tricky genre, you need to balance both romance and comedy so well, that equilibrium is maintained all the time: neither comedy nor romantic overshadow either. And S3 of Kaguya-sama is perfect example how impeccably it was done. The show is hilarious, even more funny
...
than S1 or S2, narrator and cut-ins are on point, everything serves well to make viewer laugh so much that they forget their own troubles. The faces, music, sound effects, visual effects - everything works perfect for comedy moments. There is so much diversity in funny moments that they are often unpredictable, which results in greater joy for us. Like, who ever thought there will be rap-episode but of course it's not just some lame jokes, it even had ED that was performed by Miyuki and Chika, and that was all noted in credits haha! And Romantic part is also greatly executed. In S3 a lot of couples were formed, and if not couples - there were big advances for almost everyone, even side characters like Kobachi got some love - which exactly makes whole season as name implies - Ultra Romantic. And Dual Confessions arc are way too great - idea of twisting few love stories into one great one heap where everything depends on other - is just genius.
About characters - basically all main characters get some development. Except maybe Chika(?) Almost all character grown up ever more than in S2, there were a lot of drastic changes and some characters finally revealed their true self - which brings joy to me tbh. As no spoiler review I wouldn't talk about what exactly happened, but whole anime advanced to new high, enriching characters story, both personal and public. Of course also major plot advances were made. All of this made S3 shine like a diamond in rays of light - because it was funny, interesting, sometimes dramatic, hilarious, unpredictable. There are not so many anime which moves you and touch your soul, making you flutter as much as characters in anime - this show actually makes you FEEL! This one thing alone could be reason for 10/10 I gave it, but it also exceeds in art/animation, sound, story, character development and so on
OP was not as cool as in S1 or S2 (still good melody, just not as intense as it was previously), but that's my personal opinion. ED however, was amusing, in both visual and audio aspects. The soundtrack was a blast for sure.
So yes, overall it is 10/10. S3 exceeded both S1 and S2, in terms of story, character development and enjoyment, and of course ending of season was icing on top. There were no dull moments at all, I hardly could stop watching. It is best romantic comedy I watched in long time (it's not like I'm expert in this genre, but w/e). It just have no competitors at this time, everything else pales in comparison.

Okay so, I don't hate this anime regardless of 1 overall I gave it. It just shows how bad it was for me, this is by no means a hate review, just pointing things out.
This anime is just a waste of time. In general, there is nothing going on in it. The story is bland, uninspired and dull. I'm not a fan of Isekai genre, because there is just too much bad anime, yet there are still a lot of gems. But among all anime I heard and watched, slime-300 gonna be the worst one I ever touched. And yeah, I watched Tsuujou Kougeki ga
...
Zentai Kougeki de Ni-kai Kougeki no Okaasan wa Suki Desu ka? and it still felt better, and I gave it better score than this one. You know, it could turn into interesting take on non-combat isekai where protagonist is just too smart and wise with good amount of adventures - in this way it would be watch-able, compared to what happened in reality. In reality, we have 12 episodes of total boredom, each episode telling us a little story, but... fails to make it interesting. It's just all clichéd, all stereotyped, I struggled to find at least some novelty in every episode but i just couldn't. You can say this is Slice of Life genre, but out of all SoL I watched slime-300 had worst pacing, lame jokes, one-dimensional characters and dialogues like they were written by neural network. I'm not exaggerating - you can try to watch it and find for yourself, but I advise against it.
So, like I said, characters are one-dimensional. Simply put, there are zero character development through whole season - except maybe for protagonist albeit its minor changes. The most change for MC was 1st episode, where she went from good for nothing rookie to max lvl character. And yeah, it stays for the rest of show like this. No power crisis, where MC encounters something she can't beat, no inner monologue about how with great power comes great responsibility, no reflections on her journey, on her friends, on what she had to do - she just exists and solve all problems easily, without second thought, sometimes with power of others. But you see, the biggest flaw in MC is that she is unstoppable, the world of this anime have no one to counter her, for crying loud - even the best warriors of the world couldn't compete with her and lose in their first battle. MC is just a tasteless Mary Sue, who wins warriors with hundreds years of battle experience. And you see, there is just one big mistake - if you train 300 years with slimes, you can easily know how to beat all slime types, that's for sure. But if you had 0 experience fighting dragons, demons, elves et cetera, you will lose, regardless of your power level, simply because you don't know strategy and weakness of these other races and types of enemies. And what happen in slime-300? Azusa mops the floor with them. And then they become friends, oh, family (which is even more ridiculous, because family is not something you can easily consider adding someone into, though this anime doesn't care at all, they are just like "let's play house"). Yeaaaaaah. Okay. Other characters in anime even less written - they are just common anime archetypes with no personality, or with personality that could be explained in 2-3 sentences.
Story is kind of, well, non-existent. Why so? Because it doesn't follow even basics of storytelling. There are no conflict, no reflections, no character development which shows progression, everything that happens is like fairy tale, but sadly executed, because even fairy tale requires actual actions and aftermath of them. Yet, Azusa and her family face no consequences of their actions - like everything is always okay. Out of all anime, there were just one time when things got rough - when one of "daughters" turned back to slime. Yet it still resolved as quickly as ever and nothing really changes. Even the battle between dragon clans (the biggest crisis in anime) felt predetermined - just because Azusa was here and viewer already knows that she can't lose, so yeah, no surprise here at all. You can say - It is SoL anime, what you expected? But even SoL have standards, either comedy SoL, or healing SoL(iyashikei), but slime-300 doesn't fit in either. Because it's realy devoid of novelty. It could fit into healing SoL sub-genre, but alas, there are better alternatives, which had characters with actual stories, temper, personality etc. Watch Aria, YKK, Amanchu, Non non biyori, Yuru camp or w/e else, it will be better, I promise you
Art is good, I could say very good, maybe not best, but character art and animation are great. A lot of cutesy and with somehow "family"-centered plot, it could be one of strong points of this anime. I am sure there are people who appreciate such setting, so here you go - it may be your piece of cake. Not mine, but you can enjoy for sure.
Sound is not so bad, not so good, something in between. I didn't like either OP or ED, the former is too hectic and chaotic to enjoy, while the latter is forgettable. But the soundtrack itself works fine for that anime, so it is a solid 5.
Overall this is the worst anime I watched, and I watched a lot of different genres/subgenres, works of different studios, and a lot of various plots and character types in them. But slime-300 was the most boring experience - I had to watch last 4 episodes at 4x speed to actually finish this anime because i didn't have stregth in myself to watch it at all. However, while for me it was worst experience, others may enjoy it - it is indeed cute isekai where nothing bad happens, there is good art and character design.

An unremarkable show.
I heard about this anime long ago, when it aired. But never watched it because I had enough fun with Nichijou and I didn't think any anime back then could beat it in comedy part. But after years I returned to school comedy/slapstick/comedy of absurd genre and started watching what I missed: Saiki Kusuo, Sakamoto, Handa-kun, Kaguya-sama and so on. I become quite a fan of this genre, or maybe I always was, because I watched it ongoing and gave it straight 10/10, which is kinda rare for me (only Saiki Kusuo and Gintama can stand next to Nichijou hilariousness). And so I
...
picked up this anime... and was disappointed.
What happened? Was it truly bad? Nope. It's just, as the review title says - unremarkable. It could pass as 5/10, and this is my overall rating. But don't expect anything from it. You see, it's supposed to be both Slice of Life and Comedy genres, but ultimately it fails at both. It fails slice of life because it lacks cornerstones of the genre, and it's too hectic and violent. And fails at comedy because out of all comedy anime I watched, it has the weakest jokes/punchlines and scenes/joke situations. Also, next problem with this anime is characters. I gave it 5/10, but honestly, not much can be said about either of them, they are plain janes - both male and female ones. They lack distinctive features - and yes, this is a major fail for any comedy - just compare characters from Danshi Koukousei to characters from Saiki Kusuo, Gintama, Sakamoto etc. and you will see that former ones are just... bleak? Unamusing? One-dimensional? They lack not only character development but also appearance traits. I mean, even anime itself points at it, saying sometimes "their names are unimportant" or something around these lines. It is self-irony but when you think about it, you will understand that there are really nothing great or interesting about either of them. Yes, it probably was intentional, but come on, can you imagine good comedy without hilariously written, extraordinary, odd or even crazy characters?
Let's talk about comedy situations in anime. In general, there are only three comedy plots: 1) boy-girl relationships and hardships 2) imaginary situations, mostly our boys role-playing in real life (DQ6 to be precise) 3) daily bickering between boys or boys vs girls. That's about it. There are no hilarious plots, no absurdity, no carefully unwrapped scenarios (yea, "girls that love books" could be like this, but... it was rather slow and uninspired). And major problem for anime is the way such comedy scenes end - almost 1/3 of situations if not more ends up not with punchline but with... punch to face or straight violence/beating. Yes, it was funny at first, but when I see for like the fifth time a group of girls attacking and humiliating one boy, it gets just depressing. No joy, no laugh and no delight - just a thought "Why?" Yes, there are good comedy scenes, namely with book loving girl or with student president rivalry between two schools, but all in all it doesn't cover this show weaknesses. So my rating for the story is just 3/10, sorry.
OP/ED are forgettable and music overall not so great. Art is okay, I guess.
Overall it's not worth to watch, it can be used to pass time, but that's about it. And for sure there are way better comedy+school life shows that shine like a diamonds (look at recommendations or what I mentioned) unlike Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou which is dim like fake jewel.
