When I initially saw the specials I didn't realize they were separate from the main story until about 5 minutes into each. I was extremely confused when I saw episode 25 especially after how conclusive episode 24 was. To be honest, I was not a huge fan of the extras. They were good as far as sound and art, they used the same soundtrack as all the other episodes. The story behind these specific episodes was lacking, but isn't always in extras? That's the goal with extras so I don't resent the show for that. They were enjoyable to watch but not all that important.
...
For me they are a must see though simply because I love the characters and I would watch anything with them in it. Amazing show, alright extras, I would recommend them for your free time. Overall the extras were fun but unnecessary.

I have seen my fair share of anime and I typically enjoy them; this was an occasion where I more than enjoyed the show. I originally saw a few episodes on television with English Dubs and I ended up watching it to completion in English. Then, because I liked it so much I watched it again with the subtitles. I think that for most people this is easily a very re-watchable show.
Story: The story was really good. It starts off with a plot that plays out and leads right into a new arc. Typically multiple arcs is uncommon in series as short as this one
...
but it was actually done really well with good transitions in between. The story ties up most of the conflict, but it does leave the audience with some questions at the end, as all good anime should.
Art: I found the art to be very well done. The specific scenes that come to mind when I think of the art are the aerial scenes of the city. The art does really well when it comes to making it seem like the viewer is in the city. There are times when the people are blurred, but that is an artistic choice that seems to work well because I enjoyed it. :)
Sound: The soundtrack easily makes it into my top 3 all time soundtracks. The intros and exiting songs were absolutely amazing. Usually I'll only watch them a few times, ie. the first ep and the last ep. But with Durarara!! I watched the intro every episode because it got me pumped and excited to watch the show lol. I ended up liking the songs so much I bought them on Itunes lol.
Character: The characters were the biggest draw of the show. Without ruining anything for you I'll say that the characters may seem to be your typical standard anime characters, but the show dives deeper into the character development. The main characters are given a lot of background and it allows them to be understood, which is good because the story is reliant on how the characters interact and perceive each other. All in all the characters are very well developed and enjoyable with a few exceptions. There are a few minor characters that I personally wish had bigger roles and were given more detail.
I found this show to be extremely good and very enjoyable. It has a high re-watchability and it entertaining to almost all crowds. It offers something to all types of otakus and is all the better because of the dichotomy in its audience. I personally would recommend this work to all who enjoy a good show and have a little bit of spare time....or those who are willing to make spare time....or give up sleep.... :D

Kaze no Stigma is exactly what you expect from a new age adventure anime.
Story: 7
The story itself is a little lacking, it starts off with a little randomness where each episode is its own small mission. The true story begins later in to the series. It's a satisfying plot and doesn't leave an overwhelming amount of unanswered questions and is well prepared for an encore season.
Art: 8
It's a recent production and it's obvious to see. There's solid detail that is shown especially well in the fight scenes. The fighting styles use natural elements which are well shown through the art.
Sound: 8
For me, the only way
...
to truly have a satisfying soundtrack is if I don't notice it all that much. That rule only applies to invideo music of course, the sound effects and transitions should be smooth enough that nothing is noticed. As for the themes, the opening theme is pretty good, it's enjoyable but doesn't exactly get you pumped for the episode. The Ending themes are actually really nice and the music fits perfectly with the art that is shown in the ending. The 3 songs also serve well to give closure on the episode.
Character: 9
I personally really enjoyed the characters. I thought that they were well developed, and showed some emotion. People will say that the characters were your average adventure folk but that really doesn't matter, obviously if you like the genre enough you will realize that all characters are basically the same. As predictable as it is, the characters are still enjoyable and worth following through their adventure.
Enjoyment: 9
The series is a very enjoyable set of episodes. It's a great representation of a classic adventure series. It's a must see for any adventure fan, and of course it includes its spa bath trip as any modern anime does. If that doesn't entertain you than I don't know what does.
Overall: 8
The series was well done and nicely put together. It's one that I got into and decided to watch quickly, I watched in with original subs and then re-watched a few eps with dubs, personally I recommend the subs. It's a solid series and I would recommend it to others.
Any feedback about the review is welcomed, also any other comments or questions you have I will openly field.

9 minutes. That was my initial thought when a friend told me about this piece of work. So obviously I had close to no expectations while watching it. Normally I would have thought it was a waste of time, but for 9 minutes? why not?
So I watched all 9 min and 5 seconds it had to offer and I was amazed with what it produced. It gave some nice insight in to the way people think and the values people have. In 9 minutes they introduce 6 characters and develop them just enough to keep it interesting. The art was an interesting style that was
...
appealing and essential at some key points. There was a nice smooth soundtrack to match the setting of a small relaxed coffee shop. It was highly enjoyable and I would encourage everyone to watch it, and for 9 minutes why not right?

Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu or The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzuyima is a classic slice of life anime. It follows the life of Suzumiya but is told from the perspective of a one of her male classmates, Kyon. Out of sheer boredom and some unknowing motivation from Kyon, Suzuyima creates the SOS Brigade in order to basically amuse her. The SOS Brigade has one goal and that is to find aliens, time-travlers, and espers, which coincidentally are the type of people that join the group.
story-5
The plot is minimal and just like all other slice of life animes. The one difference that actually sets this one
...
apart from others is that it wasn't shown in chronological order, the original broadcast order was jumbled, and it lead with an episode that could be either very appealing or completely turn you off from finishing the series. The actual chronological order of the episodes is 2, 3, 5, 10, 13, 14, 4, 7, 6, 8, 1, 12, 11, 9. The disarray of the series helps to keep it interesting but also serves to hide the fact that there is little plot.
Art-8
The actual quality of the art was as usual very good. I wouldn't exactly brag about it but Kyoto has done good work and maintained their reputation.
Sound-7
While watching, I didn't tend to notice the background sound which for me is a good thing. This meant is was fluid and went well with the episode without any problems standing out. The opening theme was good, nothing too special but matched the limited plot fairly well. The outro was a fun little dance, admittedly I enjoyed it. :)
character-7
The characters in my opinion were developed well in one season. There were strong relationships built between the characters that weren't exactly obviously seen. The downfall of the characters is the originality, it's the same type of characters that every anime has. You have your laid back main character, a high energy female counter role, an shy/embarrassed attractive girl, a silent character, and someone who is ridiculously nice and accommodating. While not original, I still enjoyed them, I like these sets of characters otherwise I wouldn't watch this genre of anime.
Enjoyment-9
As I've said before, I really did enjoy the season even with its major flaws. I like to watch the unrealistic interactions between people and you definitely get that in Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. It's quick paced and exciting, but if you don't enjoy random humor then this is not for you.
Overall-7
As far as Slice of life goes this is in the top 3 most popular series I've heard of. I liked it's almost random episodes even with the confusion on the plot. It does what it should and it does it well. A very enjoyable series with not much to complain about.
