I've read parts of the manga when it first came out and didn't get to follow thru with it. I was surprised to see the news about the adaptation.
Story: If you have no interest in slice of life, this anime may not be for you because it takes it time in many aspects. From the characters to its scenarios, it values each of them, giving us episodic moments, with different experiences/quirks. There's lots to love and there's also a lot of things that aren't to a certain degree, very interesting. It's good enough to hold one's interest but not so much as to care
...
for it very much.
Art: This anime is definitely the most cinematic and scenic I've seen from Cloverworks and I know that they've done a lovelier job with Wonder Egg Priority but I have yet to see it so. I love the colors and the backgrounds a whole lot. Everything seems rendered with plenty of care. I think the character designs are a hit or miss tho. I know it has to do with the character design from the manga but there's something a little disproportionate or unusual with the way some characters are drawn. Also their side angles are a little weird. Overall tho, when it tends to focus on a specific character, they do a good job of highlighting.
Character: I actually really like the character and dynamics here although in the beginning I failed to really see much of an appeal with Akebi-chan. She felt too good to be true but when Usagihara pointed out that Akebi seemed like a perfect person and surprised she had shortcomings too, that kind of brought her character into a much more realistic standard for me although i really have not met anyone like Akebi in my life and if I'm going with personal feelings about it, I'd say that I'd grow tired with that kind of bright energy lmao. She's good in certain doses but not every time that's why I like when other characters catch my attention. While the episodes tend to highlight specific characters and how they affect Akebi or how she affects them, I think I enjoyed the episodes that involve a bigger crew which is why I liked the school festival preparation a lot or when Akebi was interacting with her original lunch buddies or the cheer squad. While the perspective is wider, I don't think it diverts from it being interesting really. If anything, the episodes where she spends with only one character, bored me.
Enjoyment: speaking of boring, while I loved plenty of parts of this anime, I also found it a little underwhelming and I've had a fair share of love for many many slice of life anime. I think it's just the overall tone of it. Perhaps because other than Akebi, most of the characters actually feel like real people so unless they're put into amusing situations, they're just there really. I dunno if that made sense. Many people are comparing it to K-On because tonally, they do have the same frequencies and the moe standard is quite strong in this as well but what makes K-On to me a more enjoyable experience is that they put a lot of effort into making a dynamic between those 5 girls and circled others into the mix so you have plenty of things to riff off of and the situations they are put in in their daily lives still feel realistic but more comedic and fun to watch. Akebi-chan's whole mood relies heavily on making it more realistic I feel and I often enjoy my slice of life with a bit of unrealistic standards. I think that's why it's called slice and not the entire thing about life itself. While Akebi as a character feels like the unrealistic standard, it still feels to grounded in it. I suppose take Tamako Market and the existence of that bird. I love that anime so much but it had romance & slice of life. I think just one thing that feels like it can set it apart that's actually interesting makes a slice of life anime fun for me.
Overall: I still do think that if you want to unwind, it's a good anime to have on the background if you understand Japanese or if you just want to relax at the end of the day and not have much to think about but just cute girls with cute friendships. I don't want to dive into the conversation that I saw after I finished the anime because it seems to ne a whole lot of things that feel too unfortunate and honestly the while fetishizing aspect of it was the last thing in my mind when I was watching it but if you want to look into that conversation before watching it, you are all welcome to look into it.

I had no expectations for My Dress Up Darling at all. If anything, I didn't even have it in my to watch list but some friends were talking about it on Twitter and I thought that it was a good time to binge the anime since there's only 1 episode left for me to wait for.
Here are my thoughts:
Story: That was loads of fun! While sure the story heavily relied into the ecchi aspect of it, it's surprisingly warm and wholesome. Part of the reason why it's just 8 for me is while I don't think anything is wrong w/ the story overall, I thought
...
they could've adapted more for me to be as invested towards what it is trying to say. There's still plenty of holes in the story that need to be filled that a s2 can fix but i honestly wish that if they Cloverworks had the guts to do it, they could've gone and adapted it to 24. I think there's enough chapters to go that far at least?
Art: It's clear that Sono Bisque is probably one of the most aesthetically pleasing anime of 2022. It's vibrant, colorful, animated really well and doesn't have any distracting features about it. For some, the excess of it might be tho but for me personally, I couldn't see it any other way. Some of the renders didn't seem as polished but I still think that lent to the slice of life aspect of the show. Marin's character design and cosplay adventures are just so pretty to look at and im sure for those who are reading the manga, they mightve been happy to see these cosplays look as well done as I perceived them.
Sound: I liked the OP and ED but not really that much and i didn't really notice much of the OSTs itself so I have very little opinion on it.
Character: I love the characters individually and as an ensemble. Especially Marin and Gojou's relationship. They clearly have a dynamic that offers plenty of room to explore and I love how the characters aren't necessarily dense but have moments where their feelings just do not meet at the same extent like with Gojou not picking up on Marin's feelings even though she is quite obviously in love with him. But he's not necessarily unaware that Marin is beautiful or that she has a great personality and is actually attracted to her. Just happens that his focus is to provide acts of service as a friend. It gives us really funny moments without it being annoying. It teases us enough about them without it being too forward later on. A good sign of a decent ecchi in my book. I love the Inui sisters and what they serve to the story. There's no rivalry or mutual animosity or a love triangle though I can't really say anything yet since I haven't read the manga but they could be hinting about it lol. They were cute and fun and gave a purpose for growth for our main characters as they learn more about the cosplay industry.
Enjoyment: I said it on my Twitter that I really have nothing truly bad to say about the series because I enjoyed it so much and that the only reason why I couldn't give it a 10 is because the story felt unfinished and I really wish they could just continue adapting it to a certain point where it feels satisfying enough for me. The fear that I have is that S2 (if it happens) will not live up to the fun I experienced watching this adaptation.
Overall: I'm glad I followed the hype coz it truly is such a refreshing, fun little anime. It's naughty but it's not pervasive or disrespectful. The characters have very good personalities and just the overall vibe of something really enjoyable to watch.

I haven't left a review on an anime in a while and I feel so strongly to leave one for this series. I'll keep it very short.
Story & Enjoyment - There's a definite hook to the overall story of Ousama Ranking. I think part of the reason why I was able to enjoy it is that it does have a solid plotline and very interesting plot arcs in its 23 episode run. I would've given it a perfect score if it wasn't for moments that felt flimsy and or cheesy. It's your typical shounen fare, just done in a very decent manner. The last 5
...
episodes for me was sort of like a decline in my overall view of the story but otherwise I was still glued to the experience.
Art & Sound - appreciated the art style for sure. If you look at season per season of anime, there's an influx and even an ongoing array of kids TV shows and the art served not just nostalgia but a very fitting vibe to the whole historical fantasy setting. WIT didn't do anything crazy but I gave it an 8 because it is clean & it didn't distract me from anything I would've called it out for. It's not revolutionary in any way but it was refreshing nonetheless.
Character- the strongest aspect of Ousama Ranking for me is the characters. The story may have dipped in progression for me but my love for the characters and their development throughout was such an exciting thing to watch. Bojji may seem like the typical shounen archetype character and they just gave him a disability just so he wouldn't seem too OP but his disability proved to be one of the strongest aspects of his character & personality. I loved plenty more of the characters & i love how each of the relationships kept me on my toes. Bosse and Miranjo's relationship is twisted and complicated enough tho that felt unusual. Not in a weird way. But just that I wish that the depth of their relationship was explained more as the "affection" Bosse talks about for Miranjo didn't seem so well established as it presented more as guilt on his part. Either way, the complexities of it, made me engaged so I guess that's a win
Overall - I said I'd keep it short but lol. Anyway, there's things to laud about this series and the love and affection eveyone has for it is fair in many ways and I definitely feel the same way. It's only in the technicalities of it that caused me to criticize it and give it a lower score than I expected. I was really gunning for a 10 in the earlier episodes. Anyway, 8 is a perfectly good score. The series IS very good and I highly highly recommend it. Just, expect certain things in the end. Although perhaps my own preferences are diff from others so I can't say that the dip in story will affect everyone else's experience or that's just my observation.

finished hisomaso...
i really, really enjoyed the premise & the beginning of it & the humor did the show good & the chemistry between the pilot & it's dragon shows but my god what happened?
i think my biggest problem is how convenient the hurdles are overcome but i guess the fact that it's a single cour is to blame. the characters also ended up really getting on my nerves. MORRIS IS STILL BAE ALWAYS 💚 but the rest...
i liked kakiyasu's meltdown tho
hisomaso however still feels like a good character study. you find characters to despise, love and be in moral conflict with and the dragons
...
are just so damn adorable!
i guess i just had a lot of hope for this.

Prince of Stride may be the most appealing anime this 2016 and I actually fell bait for it. Initially I didn't want to watch it but I was kind of forced to and actually enjoyed the first episode but as I was going along with it, then, well, the every hole starts to pop out.
Story (6): Fair enough the story of Stride is pretty decent. It's your typical friendship through sports sort of show. Unfortunately, it's trying to show some sort of fanservice, with beautiful men and amazing legs. I dunno. The saving grace of the story would have to be its random bursts of
...
comedy and recurring gags. The friendships were cute too but it didn't make me burst to tears or wipe away any snot from my nose. Sports anime should be riveting through its story. This didn't make it happen.
Art (8): The art is definitely the reason why this show makes quite the impact. It's beautiful, colorful with hints of cool tones and how can you not like beautiful bishie boys. The stride animations, the running and the tricks were pretty solid and I think that they pushed to make it at least work in order for it to be appealing to sports fans.
Sound (6): If we're talking voice actors, this show is peppered with all of my favorite seiyuus... Well, I LOOOOVE ALL OF THEM! But it was the only thing that was memorable. I don't remember the background music. SFX didn't seem to be a huge deal and I'd skip the OP and ED, though the OP is kind of nice.
Character (7): The characters of this show are weird. Dedicated to their sport though and bloody entertaining, Ayumu and Kohinata. You know what? The reason I even finished this show was because of these two adorable cuties. If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have survived it. It's either I'll drop it or give it a really low score. But yeah. Like I said, there's so many seiyuus in this and so there are tooooons of characters because teams. you know. but they don't necessarily leave a mark. I'd be screaming when I hear a character speak because their seiyuus are my fave but other than that, I'd be disappointed by how little they actually got to do. They couldn't leave a proper impact.
Enjoyment (6): There were moments were I would enjoy the show and then skip to certain parts. It's such a waste of time to be honest, so just skip some of the parts. I only enjoyed the running parts and the Ayumu x Kohinata duo but more than that, I'd say, it's a pretty shallow show.
Overall (6): I think I've rated this pretty fairly. It was okay. Maybe you'd still like it. Personally, I didn't like it as a whole but there are bits and pieces that worked for me so I survived.

Boku dake ga Inai Machi or more popularly known as ERASED is one of the best anime to come out of the 2016 roster. And it's probably the only one that I invested my weeks to.
Story (9): I was actually scared to watch this show because the present situation of the character Satoru Fujinuma is something I kind of attach myself to. He's become detached to the world so forth and so forth. But then I watched it and I feel like I can't have ignored this anime at all. I'll probably won't be the same person. The tension is built up well. Situations
...
are intense whilst also providing a bit of comfort here and there. What's great about the story of ERASED is that you want to know more as it progresses. After every episode, you wish to know more and more.
Art (9): A-1 Pictures has done it again. One thing I love about A-1 is that they take the concept of the mangaka's art and further it, making it appealing. The colors, textures of each backdrop are beautiful to look at and it thoroughly feels like your in Japan. Animation-wise, there's not much action but the movements are fluid and easy and if there's a need to rush certain scenes, it's done with precision while maintaining the dignity of the art.
Sound (10): Building tension for such a suspensful anime can be quite the challenge and adding some background music or sounds amps up the scene, making it somehow haunting or in such cases, carefree. But I have to give credit for the amazing OP and ED of this show. Re:Re has actually been out since 2006 and it's such a fit to use it because the time of this anime is not necessarily set in 2016 but more in the early or late 2000s so it seemed appropriate. The ending is both adorable and sad which adds to the feel of the characters. The voice actors are amazing! I have to commend Mitsushima-san. He's not a seiyuu, and I guess that adds to the humanity of his character. Tsuchiya-san as the young Satoru, knowing that she isn't a seiyuu brought a simplicity to her performance and made everything seemed more understandable and reachable.
Character (9): There are many characters in this show but you have to take into consideration that there are only a few people involved at the whole thing in all honesty. I was so scared watching as bits and pieces started to fall into place and you somehow wish that it weren't true. Satoru is a flawed character trying to fix everything with his power. It also comes with a price yet he didn't give up and that's why I loved him. I felt like some of the characters that we came to love suddenly vanished and didn't become part of the story. I feel like the ending was rushed for any of the characters to be appreciated when they came back. That's just me though.
Enjoyment (9): It's not necessarily a show that will give you HAHA's because it's not that. It's a psychologically scarring show about how life can definitely be filled with twists and turns and we're lucky enough if we get the chance to do something about it. I enjoyed this anime very much and wished it was a few episodes longer.
Overall (9): Boku dake ga Inai Machi or ERASED is a show you have to see if you like thrilling anime. I suggest you don't read the manga or research it to get warped into the series.

Crazy as it might seem, I knew from the moment that Gintama came back last year, that I would be floored by the amazingness. Not just because I read the manga but because of the stunning way it was adapted. Here's a more detailed review.
Story (10): No matter how stupid or crazy or just plain random Gintama is, the story of each arc is a masterpiece. It's riveting, it's engaging, it's emotional. It's every indescribable feeling I had while I was watching each episode. I loved that the characters would make you laugh like you're gonna pop your head off then afterwards make you cry
...
your eyes out till it rolls on the floor then make you laugh again. It's polarizing...but in a good way. I dunno how Gori-sensei does it, but he should be crowned with a crown of bananas. What's also so masterful about the story of this particular Gintama comeback is that it hits into a lot of the core arcs in the manga and it gives more detail about the relationships of each character and their struggles. We are given more than just a peek into what's happening and that's why it's superb.
Art (10): Gintama is not like that lollipop-bubblegum cute anime that you all know and love. In terms of art itself, Gintama is not necessarily up there. But in my mind it is. I love how distinct and unique each character is and how bold some of them are. I love how they can play with each character and somehow make them seem like they have another personality and it's too funny I can't. But what I think truly brings my score for Gintama so high up is that the animation of the fight scenes, does not shy away from absolute perfection. It's raw, rugged yet fluid and they ain't afraid to show blood y'all.
Sound (10): There's a few recurring background music that you can hear if a scene is absolutely funny or wickedly sad. It's constant with Gintama, yet it just makes me cry all the fcking time. I'm sorry I just had to curse. Especially if it involves flashbacks. GDI. Then the amazing opening and ending themes for the whole span of Gintama. I love, adore and wanna marry every single one of the artists. They just brought everything together. I just hope SPYAIR made one for this season though but all in all, perfect!
Character (10): Do I need to go into detail with this? Every character in Gintama is just so lovable and hurts you like you've been stabbed a 1000 times yet they keep you alive just so that they can stab you more and more. The characters absolutely funny and out of it and you love them soooooo much! I can't get enough of them
Enjoyment (10): If you watch Gintama and not enjoy yourself, are you hollow inside? One aspect of Gintama is it ability to make people laugh (as well as cry) and even if you cry, you'll enjoy the show so much. It's the perfect binge watch show.
Overall (10): GINTAMA IS UTTER PERFECTION KBYE

I binged watched Dimension W for 2 days while waiting for episode 12 to air. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed Dimension W. Here are some of the reasons.
Story (8): What I loved about Dimension W is that it is engaging and leaves you wanting more and more. You want to know what happens in every twist and turn and in a way, you wish that it could go on and on. I did not like however that it felt entirely inconclusive and that the ending seemed lacking, at least for me.
Art (9): Bandai Visual is one of the best production houses, in
...
my opinion and the art for Dimension W was colorful, despite the darkness of its theme. The animation was also really stunning and the fight scenes are engaging. It's not overwhelming to look at and the characters, both protagonists, supporting characters and villains, seem distinct.
Sound (9): I really give much credit for the opening and ending themes for the score I'm giving this category because they are amazing. I loved the opening theme and of course animation. It definitely brought me back to my love of Gangsta. The ending was just adorable. The sound in the show itself wasn't necessarily up there but it blended in nicely with the plot.
Character (8): What's so great about the characters of Dimension W is that they don't beg to be liked, well maybe except for Mira, who you need to like because cmon that face. Anyway, the characters are not waiting for you to love them because they are stereotypically lovable. They aren't. You wouldn't love Kyouma if you're looking for a bishounen or someone who is nice and sweet. He isn't. He's a cold, badass and detached person yet why do I love him so much? It's because he is himself. This goes for the other characters like Loser, Mary and even Salva. They aren't the type of people you'd actually like but you like them anyway.
Although one thing I have to say is that some characters felt like fillers. Even Al felt like a filler character. A lot of them are and some of them seem senseless. All in all, character-wise, Dimension W was pretty solid.
Enjoyment (8): I left watching Dimension W thoroughly enjoyed. Although I didn't necessarily have those shouty feeling-feelings I usually have for an anime, I have to say that because of the action and the story, I definitely got hooked. There were more hits than misses but I think those holes could've been filled if it were a few more episodes longer.
Overall (8): If you're looking for an anime that can fill your action and angst needs, Dimension W is a pretty decent anime to go and watch.

I had to drop it because it got quite annoying. Though not entirely bad, I have to say that I just couldn't bear with it.
It was mostly annoying because the characters could've been a lot more enjoyable but they felt quite lagged and stereotypical. Mina became your casual tsundere type and I quite like her but I wish that she was more badass.
Akira is a character that made me quite wish I didn't even watch the show. He's a lot of work and I kinda felt bad for Mina in those 3 episodes that I've watched.
Now, I have to say that this show might
...
be for some people so I'm not gonna plummet it down to the ground because in a way, it was quite decent. It just really wasn't for me
