*THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS*

First of all, let me start by saying that this anime is an evil incarnate which can rival Satan himself; when you have stuff like this on our planet we don't need anything bad. You might be asking, "Wow, another neckbearded sweaty obese toxic weaboo just trying to diss a well-received anime". But you'd be wrong. The score I've given is actually more than I'd like to give but I digress. So, to prove that I'm not just another furious hater I'd like to start off with the good/enjoyable/appreciable side of the anime and later on, discuss about its many problems.

THE GOOD: ... Darling in the FranXX is a rather uniquely made anime. In spite of being in the mecha genre at core, it aspires to be so much more than that. Although it has the tags of mecha, romance, action, drama and sci-fi, this anime has a slight touch of harem (arguable), ntr and slice of life. The main thing that was enjoyable, for me at least, was that it involved a somewhat realistic tone with the teenagers having sexual/romantic urges. Also the fact that the main characters (who were involved with the story) are different from the rest and try to go the old, natural way of human life. Their so-called parents who became more humane at the end was a treat as well. The complex relationship between Goro, Ichigo and Hiro (which was probably inspired by SAO: Alicization), between Mitsuru and Hiro, and the sexual orientation of Ikono were the parts of the anime where it really shone. But, Alas! As we all know, all good things must come to an end.

THE BAD: The bad part is mainly the childish and utter braindead story of this anime. And moreover, what really destroys DIF was the sudden change of the tone+environment. You see, in the start DIF was just a light-hearted mecha anime about a bunch of teenagers with the only purpose of piloting the FranXXs'. Well, then how were they born? What happens when they grow up/ can't pilot anymore? What do they do with their sexual urges/desires? But, no questions are answered and time was passing quick. Then, with a sudden revelation we get to know that humans discovered magma, produces stuff to become immortal and so, the number of human beings was increasing. But then, we get Klaxo-sapiens, who were an even more advanced civilization and the FranXXs' are just their dead bodies. Does that mean that our main antagonists are these species? Hell no. Turns out another EVEN more powerful and utterly immortal civilization exists out there in space called "Virm". They don't even have an innate/physical form. And these bad boys attack after all the groundwork has been laid out where it was told that the Klaxosaur queen was actually the main villain. But no, it was actually Virms who wanted to create a fucking Utopia by consuming every living organism there is. In the end, what happens is, the #1 Simp, Hiro travels to space to reunite with Zero Two cuz fuck you and your logic, Zero Two's "mind" is actually in space controlling Strelizia (name of the FranXX Hiro and 002 control). On the other hand, as Virm has destroyed everything on Earth, our main characters have to rediscover agriculture once more and start humanity afresh. Moreover, while all of this is going on, our sexy, shy but horny girl, Kokoro, has decided to get pregnant with Mitsuru. Leaving the fact that they actually were successful in one try, why would you make teenagers have children? Like, holy fucking shit. On the other hand, as Strelizia goes forward it just takes out everything that stands in its way and destroys Virm, I guess? I thought they didn't even have a physical form. In the end, by doing so Hiro and 002 die martyrs' deaths and are remembered forever by their friends back on Earth, who by the way have completely fixed everything cuz why not? I'm just tired after ranting this much but I hope I was able to get my point across. Kokoro, the shy girl turning into a fucking slut, Ichigo loving both Hiro and Goro, and Zorome and Miku just being male and female versions of each other just destroyed my outlook on this anime. What had much potential turned into sheer bullshit at the end, which is why it will probably be the biggest blow I've faced in my life.

CONCLUSION: I hope that whoever wrote this story and whoever approved of it and permitted it to be aired may die a slow and painful death, and be thrown into the deepest depths of the worst hell there is.
