This series lacks consistency. I started reading the LN after the release of episode 4 of the anime. So far, the anime is doing well, the story has been well adapted. I could say the same for the first book of this title. However, the 2nd book left so much to be desired. When reading vol. 2 of the series, there are a lot sudden additions to the story that just made no sense.
The book starts off with Lugh as genius boy with a realist personality. As the story progresses, however, Lugh's personality gradually changes. It is to be expected, however, since the plot
...
focuses on him developing as a character. BUT! The story begins to meander a bit and Lugh is now portrayed as the "hero", clearly contradicting his job as an assassin both in his previous life and as Lugh. This is fiction, and I am aware of the trend of the fantasy genre in the anime community. But, this only proves the lack of a proper pacing this series has.
Adding to the already terrible pacing is the author's poor decision making. This is a trend I noticed throughout the story, the author would purposely start a scene and add something that was not previously mentioned when said scene began. I find it difficult to understand the author's intention with the story's progression. Same can be said during the introduction of Maha to the story. She was added to the main story as is, only then was her background revealed in an interlude chapter. To me, reading this series feels like reading a 4-koma manga, with new episodes each time you enter a new chapter, instead of it just being a continuation of the last. While this does not apply to all the chapters in the story, it does hinder consistent reading when such events does happen.
I am a bit disappointed with the terrible pacing the story has. IMO, this is a rare instance where the anime adaptation is leagues ahead of the LN. The anime is able to pace the story well, while the LN tries to include everything into 1 book, resulting in a terrible explosion of the plot.

All I can say about this manga is...there is a lot of yelling throughout the story...every little bit of information, no matter how minute and irrelevant...it just had to be yelled out to get the point across.
Story (5) - There's nothing much to comment on the story, in my opinion it's fine the way it is, most people would get turned off by seeing a pretty low rating, but honestly it's not all that bad. The whole time it feels like I'm reading a 4-koma manga instead of a proper manga. What makes Kanojo mo Kanojo appealing isn't about how complex the story is or
...
how amazing the visuals are, it's appealing because of ridiculous the plot is, bruh, there isn't one if imma be honest. The whole time, I'm just laughing my ass off, that's how ridiculous and entertaining it is. What I find unamusing was the manga's concept as a whole entity. Mind you, this was also written by the same author of Aho Girl (and the anime about a mangaka assitant that I can't seem to recall), and this shares some similarities (characters, jokes, plot) with one another. So if you've watched or read Aho Girl, then this title isn't much different from the former.
Art (6) - Same as what I said earlier, same author/artist, same style. Nothing new, nothing mind blowing. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The art is decent, that's it.
Characters (7) - I had fun following the characters, the author seemed to get the gap moe concept down and it made the characters all the more interesting. Naoya, Saki and Nagisa, all had really contrasting personalities from one another, and they also had contradicting personalities. You just can't seem to expect when a character will shed it's true skin and unleash hell to the readers. It's chaotic but very entertaining. Though I don't seem to understand why authors feel the need to make really "dense but somehow lucky with the girls" type of guy, it's a cliche that's been plaguing other manga's as well. Given the circumstance, this time Naoya's personality seemed to fit the gap moe trend of the other characters, however at times, it gets pretty annoying, completely ruining the initial fun factor.
Enjoyment (9) - This is just a personal take on the manga. You don't have to like this manga or even read it. I had a great time reading through Kanojo mo Kanojo. The jokes aren't boring and it doesn't seem to end just there, each chapter and volume just seems to bring out something new from the character and their daily shenanigans.
Overall, I gave this manga a solid 6/10. A decent work and perfect for relieving some that pent up stress.

Having multiple slime based title animes in one season sure is something. Not to ruin the hype on the other slime based title, this slime killing witch surely is not to be missed.
For once, the main character is not a guy, and died because not from getting hit by Truck-kun or having god smite her with lightning. From the start of the anime, we are are treated to some basic isekai anime protocol. Character dies, holds a conversation with god or some form of deity, gets to choose what they want to do when they get reincarnated and so on. However, what is unique is
...
the fact that the lead is a female and also the fact that she does not lead a harem or an adventurers life of combat and romance. Like most isekai titles, Azusa did a complete 180 transformation, both in her appearance and her lifestyle. Gone are the days of being a corporate slave, working 24/7, and sleepless nights. From just being another Japanese salary woman, she becomes a loving mother, a caring teacher as well as your neighborhood doctor. Honestly, it is quite a mistake labeling this title as a fantasy genre, the term slice of life suits this title better, in fact it suits the title so much due to how relaxing and easy going it is and I am a sucker for all things slice of life.
This title is certainly an enjoyable one, the story is clear, it follows the usual literary storyline, the characters are all likable, and no nonsense whatsoever. It is almost too perfect in fact, too perfect to the point that you might as well call it a text-book example. Yup, as enjoyable as it is, it is hard to deny the fact that this title is plain as vanilla. But just like vanilla, plain and simple is sometimes the best way to go, but also like vanilla, it is easily forgettable. This title does not have a wow factor to it other than the things mentioned before. Another title in mind would be kuma-kuma-kuma bear. Just like the former, both have female leads and both did not die at the hands of god or truck-kun. So slime taoshite, as much praise as it deserves, it lacks in any form of wow factor to make it stand out amongst its adversaries. Having Azusa lead a life of a witch instead of an adventurer is not what can be considered a unique selling point, also the title is a mouthful, both Japanese and English.
There is not much to say about this title given that by the time this review is submitted, the anime is still airing. It is certainly regrettable to say that this is just another seasonal installment of a fantasy anime, a list that continues to grow every season.

I won't bother with a long review on this one. I honestly thought it was gonna be decent title, given it had a overall rating of 5.13, I know it's pretty much common knowledge that any series with a rating lower than a 6 is complete trash in this platform, but i've had my fair share of unexpected enjoyment from other titles and even went as far as reading their original stories be it a manga or LN.
However, this time, oh boy...I cannot express how irritating it was watching all 12 episodes of this anime, the concept was there and it had potential. Nevertheless, from
...
all 12 episodes, all i got from the story was toxic righteousness. I have never agreed more with the antagonists of this series than the protagonists, being that they're supposed to be the show's spotlight.
In conclusion, this is solid skip, though the part where the protagonists "friend" died moved me, only for that particular scene. I haven't read the LN and manga for this title, so I can't really touch the story too much however. This is a common problem with most isekai animes i've watched and read, trying to compress a long original story into 12 24 minute episodes can really ruin a decent if not good story line. It's not just isekai animes, but other LN or manga based animes as well.
I applaud you all for sitting and watching all 12 episodes of this cultural content, but not all series are created equal, but I think it's time for animation studios to step up their game and produce more quality content, especially in an era where entertainment is most needed.
