this is not a good show by it's own merits. the story is alright, it has enough twists that you cant predict everything that's going to happen so it never runs into the problem with fairy where you will just keep skipping episodes. for the most part the art is quite pretty, it does lack in some areas and can occasionally take you out of the scene but generally their are lots of breath taking visuals and soothing backgrounds typical of this show. the sound and characters are, average at best some times, the characters tend to fluctuate from hilariously bad to pretty convincingly written, ... but overall i had a blast watching this show. i cant say its very good but i can say i enjoyed it so i will. i don't know what it is about this edgy hype train it has all the turn offs for someone who likes his shows to think a little deeper but i guess I've kinda fallen for the premise again. somewhere along the line i fell out of love with this series and couldn't get back into it when season 2 arrived, but their really is something special about this show, it's really fun to watch.

ok so I want to say this first if you don't like shounen you will hate this it is shounen threw and threw, so if you aint down for some spunky protagonist shouting about teammates don't bother but if you do enjoy this genre and its trappings you might want to give it a shot

Story: the story is solid it does a pretty decent job fleshing out its power system and adds a nice ting of politics that feels more at place in a seinen or dark fantasy but it doesn't get bogged down in its nihilistic setting allowing you to infer into the world ... and what injustices the lead may be overlooking (its kinda cool to think about it that way but I guess you could read it flat if your a stick in the mud :p). overall the story is solid with enough twists in an interesting world that it keeps you engrossed and does nothing to break suspension of disbelief or drive one to depression. 7/10

Art: the art is passible some character designs are pretty cool but definitely pretty standard for a jump manga 7/10

character: ok so this is where I think the manga is at its best overall I cant credence to the idea that the characters in Black Clover are in the slightest bit original like they basically checked of every archetype in the book even tsundere, but they are all so fun even though they fall into archetypes they are all rationalized and their interplay is truly a delight. I cant stress enough that this can not be enjoyed with a cynical perspective going in this story requires a lot of good will but if you go in wanting to like it you will each main character is very charming and theirs is a decent percentage of the time spent on them as characters that it doesn't just feel like they are just husks with powers that the main TRYHARD can utilize to achieve his goal of being king. ( I just want to add this in here where I am their have been some pretty interesting hints that the lead could become a pretty cool character but it might go no where ... eh heres hopeing) 8/10

enjoyment: that last part plays a big role in determining this next score Black clover constantly has me thinking of what will happen next its rife with clues and genre trappings that give a seasoned veteran plenty to work with but its not afraid to subvert expectations from time to time. its highly engrossing and realy good at making you want to read more I don't know if it will fall apart some day it might but as of now I can confidently say this is a very enjoyable read. 9/10

overall: its a solid shounen that will scratch that childish ich you have to watch some overpowered badiess get socked in the face :) 8/10

this show is at meh for a while but around the end of episode 5 their was this scene and it blew me away and I must say that is definitely the purpose of the show. It doesn't put a real emphasis on animation or even sound rather it waits for the right moment and sweeps you off your feet. honestly, I cant imagine this show being for everybody but I do recommend checking it out because I didn't think it was for me, and man if it is for you you really don't want to miss it!

so let me give you some warnings ... just incase their are some deal breakers. First, if you cant stand bodies that have been (slightly) exaggerated this show could be of putting the characters have long necks as is typical for dancers and they are a bit more angular than a softer looking show like haikyuu. Second the music in the dancing sections doesn't always watch the type of dance they are doing they seem to be going for a scene setting rather than what they are dancing to which was probably my biggest disappointment when watching this show. and Lastly, TEPPU IS NOT A FUCKING ANIME!!! which will probably haunt me till the day I die and how the fuck can they make an anime about competitive dancing when they haven't even made one on mma like seariosly WTF!!!

ok so the last point was just me ranting about my favorite manga but I left it in their because any chance I have to premote it I'm gonna take. overall if you can bear with a bit of mediocrity at times this show has some steller peaks that can blow you away

I just felt like writing down how this manga and I connected. it was like something out of a dream for me, the main character was the only character iv'e ever been able to totally empathize with. every thought she had I had every action she took I had taken reading this a year out of high school was like living threw high school again, and that alone was glorious. this manga got me back into manga and helped me find my self after having my life upended without this I probably would not be who I am today. I can truly say that Natsuo ... is me, or rather the me who I was in before life hit me it was a bitter sweet nostalgia of watch a young hyper talented athlete lose themselves to the boredom of being innately talented at everything. I can only lament that I don't get to see her come to the same conclusion I have and transcend the material and cast off ones talent and become a full self. never the less being able to get such a clear view of my own life was the flashpoint that set me forward to my current mental clarity, and for that I am truly grateful.

this is a very personal review but I just wanted to get it off my chest. it feels good to close this chapter in my life and its thanks too teppuu that I can.

pls don't prop up this piece of trash with anything like a 6 or 7 I swear the mal community Is too kind when it comes to this shit anything above a 3 is far too generous for this steaming load. this isn't really a review of this trash show their are enough people who have already shredded it apart, rather this is a review of the mal community and how people just doll out 5s and 6 too any crap that passes the eye test. trolls not included. it is really unbelievable that this has a higher mean score than shows that actually appear ... to have effort put in don't save the brutal scoring just for the hentai section people. its time that something is shit we need to call it on it before it can make a franchise profiting of the unaware and driving more anime fans out of the community its about artistic integrity that we as community must be harsh critics of that which was obviously made for purely the promotion of company income without the slightest intent to providing anything of actual value.
