they both piss me off and the art style is kinda similar. idiotic girls who love each other but screw up a lot.

hotd is pervy and btooom is more discreet about it and has a bit more respect. it pleasantly surprised me cause we know anime. now that that's out of the way, they are a bit different , yet have a similar feel. on one hand, a guy is mindlessly killing zombies, holding onto the fact that they are dead and it is justifiable to keep himself sane, while the other has a guy forced kill real live people and has actually lost his mind a few times. either way, there are deaths, gore, and boobs. hotd is less thought provoking (boo), but has more bloodshed (yay) and unnecessary fanservice (boo) so that's something. btooom has more food for thought (yay) and thankfully less pervy moments (yay), but when it does have them... it almost ruins the entire mood (BOO). but if those boo moments don't bother you (or you enjoy them), check the other out.

both involve characters originally naive and timid who grow mature and wise through the struggle of war. for them to become rulers seems a little far fetched. but with that innocence comes a kindness that their lands are unaccustomed to and that gains them loyal followers who fight with them to make their worlds a gentler place.

if you liked one, the other is definitely worth a shot. they're both centered on romance and fantasy. bittersweet, but not without some humor. romeo x juliet may be a little more dramatic, but i'm sure that's a given. they leave you feeling warm and satisfied.

they both possess something soft and mature about them. supernatural, fantasy, and adventure. they have a very smooth transgression, get you thinking, and have a bittersweet feel to them.
