On the other hand, Kinji goes into h.s.s mode that makes him into a super cool genius, and Ryner just has natural talent with the help of his alpha stigma eyes

To be exact, there is only one similarity that I can think of. At first, both clubs had many members, but due to reasons, a lot of the club member left and both clubs had minimal members. - Bamboo Blade: a member was a sadist that scared all of the members away and the seniors were studying for their exams - Whistle!: Mizuno Tatsuya and Kazamatsuri Sho made a deal with the team captain that whoever won the match would be captain, but because the team captain loss and couldn't deal with Mizuno being captain, many members left Somehow, both clubs manages to maintain enough members to compete and are aiming for the nationals. They're different, but you get the same feeling of determination from both animes
