I need to move this show out of my head so here's a collection of words.
I started & dropped the show in October of 2023 after the first four episodes were dense & I wasn’t attached to the characters. I returned to watch it in January 2025 and found myself enjoying the human characters, density & drama to the point of completion although the initial episodes had higher quality than the later and felt significantly longer than their 20 minute allocation. I recommend this title to those in early adulthood or older as you may find similarities with the cast but keep in mind it
...
is far from perfect, lacks consistent pacing, is frustrating and the overall message changes as the episodes stack.
The first half of Sing Yesterday for Me was slow but dense with a focus on loss of purpose after school, personal growth and relationships. Everything including its characters felt human and the initial episodes were exceptional but at some point the show lost its magic and picked up pace by having significant time skips, introducing new characters/plots, grinding characters to a halt and losing that density.
While the characters feel very human & their depictions are great at showcasing it, they can overstay their welcome in regards to their state of emotions & mentality especially when longer time skips come into play. The first half of the season did a great job at managing this, but in the second half it reaches extremes with a swap of main character focus to Shinako. Shinako I found was the worst part of the show as she was the linchpin to anyone else’s progression and received a significant amount of focus & screen time that affected the show. When other characters understood their problems, grew, improved & stated their intentions, Shinako was stagnate, destructive and selfish without any interruption for a hefty duration. I reached a point where I was verbally reacting to her actions and their consequences each episode because it was so repetitive and irritating. These feelings were not limited to Shinako as her side character also had similar issues but they were purely amplified by Shinako’s lake of action & clarity.
Outside of Shinako, one off characters took the limelight for full episodes that affected the pacing and while they were great episodes in isolation, they ultimately added nothing to the story and that time could have been used to explore the significant time skips, character backstories/interests & emotional connections.
The final episodes while also having good scenes in isolation were an absolute mess and joke in the context of the show’s themes & character progression to the point it was a great disservice. The second half of the show was so jarring and frustrating that by its conclusion I wondered what the point of it all was and questioned the outcome.
Sing Yesterday for Me was very human but fuck it messed so much shit up with its presentation and it could have been so much better if it maintained the magic & density from early episodes and was maybe given more time to explore the time skipped periods to develop the events that resulted in the ending and the infatuations of the characters.
I think some will enjoy this title for the human like characters, period of time and drama especially those who have been through struggles of purpose, emotional & internal growth & relationship conflicts but keep in mind the show's handling of these themes degrade as the episodes stack.

Princess Jellyfish is a show about a secluded hyper fixated artist in an apartment building shared by those with their own hyper fixations & anxieties. Enter a fashionable crossdressing male that enjoys the company of the female lead & her Jellyfish fixation. Their interactions are genuine and reflective of an outgoing person interacting with an introverted individual and how one can improve their confidence through fashion & care. Its comedy, turned romance, turned drama and while the genre swapping results in jarring progression, lack of answers & exploration or evolution of its side cast, the two leads carry the show throughout the transition by being
...
entertaining, caring and genuine human characters that grow from their interactions and experiences. On top of that the fashion & character designs are beautiful & realistic given anime standards.
One of the human moments specifically is in regards to the internal dialogue & fixation on past events by the main leads which are emphasized with flashbacks throughout the season. These are great moments for both of them although while human & fitting for the characters, the flashbacks were overused to the point that I was wishing they spent that time to explore the male lead's crossdressing, fashion in greater detail or expanded the personalities of the side cast.
Most of the side cast are used for comedic effect and while it works in the first half of the season, the genre swap and progression from the main leads, results in these characters becoming frustrating, one note assholes that lacked care for those around them & serious moments. It’s not all of the side cast as some received development to make them more than their gags but the ones that didn’t were so blatant because they were prevalent throughout the show. Two specific side characters I found annoying due to their excessive movement and vocals that detracted from the later story & interactions across the season.
The genre swaps introduced serious plot points & character moments that were captivating but they never got resolved or further addressed with each new episode as different aspects continued to be added rather than addressed. Whether it was the Romance, internal conflict, emotional conflict, isolation, sexual experience, skills or interests, all of them were affected significantly. The final episode also did no favors to anything shown before it as it had fast pacing and a conclusion that is simply a copout.
On that note, there is a story that overstays its welcome relating to a different pair of side characters about sexual assault and emotional manipulation. It felt extremely disconnected from the main events, ruins a specific aspect of the show & much like other story beats received no solid conclusion and what was implied is disgusting even given the shows comedic tag.
Princess Jellyfish is interesting on so many levels and it's a shame that it couldn’t make a cohesive piece out of the genres and elements it used or provide answers & conclusions to its questions & events. I think those that enjoy human characters and fashion will love the show, although I felt like the anime only explored fashion with its visuals rather than dialogue & story. Those looking for romance or exploration beyond the surface of the topics outside of self-worth & confidence will be disappointed because while they exist, it never received the focus & care they deserved.

Murai in Love is a forbidden romance anime that focusses on comedy for a majority of the season. It features the forbidden romance of Teacher & student and while I’m not a fan of this specific age gap being portrayed (25 year old and a 17 year old) due to the problematic nature, predictability & one way infatuation needing to be reciprocated by the adult, the show did a decent job distracting me from that fact through its comedy & excellent side characters.
The show’s animation is close to nonexistent with Photoshop click and drag movement for anything beyond the face & mouth of characters. While
...
the animation style was used to the advantage of its jokes & gags, most of the episodes 20 minute runtime will be still images & looped footage rather than the movement or change in visuals seen in other productions. I found the character designs & art style refreshing for the genre outside of two characters who resemble the One Piece characters Nami & Nico Robin (to a distracting degree) and there was episode 7 which was probably the worst episode in the season especially regarding character design as a lot of characters ended up looking like each other or losing their identity.
I felt like the comedy was consistent yet unpredictable. I didn’t laugh at most of what the show offered as it wasn’t my cup of tea but I could see the appeal and unique nature of the gags that some may enjoy. The animation is borderline nonexistent but they used that fact to their advantage for a lot of the comedic pieces however they were the only thing to benefit from the animation style. The internal jokes were probably the weakest the show offered with the best being those about everyday life. My favorite joke was in episode 2 about normal people trying to understand the preferences of dating game characters.
The tone of the show swaps around episode 8 from comedy to drama with a focus on the internal feelings & problematic teacher student relationship. That being said the age gap remained off-putting and got worse with statements made by the teacher, specifically in episode 9 when she states that she fell in love with a 2D character because it reminded her of a child. While it gets addressed in some form, the ending and nature of the show basically disregards the weird attachment & lack of boundaries linked to said character. The final episode felt rushed and disjointed from the previous episodes and while I was not a fan of the relationship between the main duo given the backstories & scenes depicting something other than love, there was a decent conclusion. It was a shame that in the swap, most side characters were pushed aside or lacked exploration like the others.
Murai in Love ended up being another RomCom where you enjoy & root for side characters rather than the main duo who you hope grow rather than stick to their emotions. Most of the side characters are captivating and well fit with Murai’s friends specifically being a blast. It was refreshing to see genuine friendship and care from them rather than the usual tropes, cardboard cut-outs or jealous rats. While it’s consistent throughout the season, episode 3-4 really showed how great the side cast was with genuine interactions and appreciation for their friends love & emotion, followed by episode 8 onwards.
The introduction of a rival & Tanaka’s interactions with him late into the season was out of the blue and weirdly paced but regardless he became an interesting character who I personally found to be better than Murai and worthy of his own story although he had his own problems. The swap to drama felt natural given the characters and the eventual fallout from its premise and while the pacing was off, it remained entertaining and interesting to the point that I’m looking for a show that replicates & explores the adult relationship with similar characters from episode 8 onwards rather than the hybrid we received. The closest I can think of or find is 'Sing Yesterday for Me' but that has similar problems regarding age gaps.
I think those that want a forbidden romance with a focus on gag comedy will enjoy Murai although the lack of animation will be the decider on if you stick around.
P.S. if I have to see another long black hair character cut his hair to look like a generic chump I'm going to start a riot.

Temple is your standard guy moves into a location only to find a host of women (that become his family) harem anime but unlike Café Terrace & Amagami sisters of recent years, Temple goes full force into Comedy & Ecchi rather than intrique or drama & seemingly has a clear winner. It's over the top in all aspects and at times the comedy becomes repetitive or too loud but for the most part uses the premise to ground itself & provide an entertaining set of episodes.
The main character wishes for isolation & improvement over his desires as a result of family trauma & his
...
father's influence but his resolve is weak to non-existent, He is actively trying to find enlightenment by suppressing & understanding his desires which makes things interesting given the circumstances but his character & growth are undermined by the genre, comedy & focus on ecchi. There is development for the main character & a few of the cast although it’s very thin and borderline different to its introduction.
I found that it did the job of making the comedy, ecchi & parallels entertaining but it could have been significantly better if taken in another direction.

Tying the knot with an Amagami Sister is another harem anime where a rough on the outside, smart & focussed dude moves into a location only to find a cast of questionably aged women (15,17 & 20+) taking residence or employment but in this show’s case the main character has to marry one of them or all of them?. Alongside that are sporadic supernatural elements that string you along to possible romantic outcomes & a conclusion, although I found that they regressed character progression & interactions as the episodes continue, specifically after episode 9 when the format changes and things seemingly reset.
It’s not the
...
worst that the genre & this style offers because the interactions between the characters outside of the fan service & awkward age range was entertaining and at times interesting but it uses every trope & situation in the medium to the point that you could predict events each episode. Most of these tropes are done well enough however there are a few that were jarring & didn’t make sense for the characters & established backstory, most notably falling down/clumsiness (OVERUSED), misunderstandings and the girls being surrounded by a group of citizens that won’t listen to them.
While the characters are entertaining, their actions are also awkward & off-putting given the ages of each sister and their personalities. The youngest is 15 with a sexual tease mindset that wants to grow up, followed by the serious yet daft 17 year old and the 20 year old carefree jack of all trades goofball. These personalities are explored as the show continues with possibly touching episodes but it didn’t stop me from questioning why they weren’t swapped to be more appropriate to their ages and felt like they just wanted a 15 years old to draw & animate which is concerning.
I think if you are a fan of shows like Temple, Quintuplets or Café Terrace you will enjoy Amagami for the character interactions but if you want the mystery that Cafe Terrace has during its first season,, the anxiety that Quintuplets provides regarding the final choice or the comedy that Temple showcases, I don't think Amagami can provide that or maintain itself long enough for its serious & touching episodes to leave an impact, although it does attempt to.

365 days to the Wedding was entertaining as an adult zero fan service romance with seemingly neurodivergent adults but it wasn’t anything special & had numerous faults.
The weak premise wasn’t a deal breaker for me because I enjoyed the characters so much but it was blatantly questionable and later ignored. Why would these loner adults fake a marriage and stay with a company that can force them to relocate instead of finding employment elsewhere? Maybe quitting is a cultural difference that I don’t understand but the reasons given through the show make zero sense and are later contradicted by the comments and interests of our
...
main characters, some of which appear out of the blue. Regardless, it felt like the premise only existed to kick-start the romance & add a dramatic hook about someone knowing the truth that that adds nothing & goes nowhere.
Regarding the characters, I found that the female lead who is solitary, reserved, seemingly neurodivergent and emotionally sheltered to be the highlight of the show, her characterization, insight, faults and growth were entertaining to watch and listen to. It was a blast whether she was alone or with the male lead and relatable, although I can see how some found her frustrating, a nothing burger or someone they couldn’t relate to. On the other hand while showing growth, interest & forwardness (not seen in other romance protagonists) that made for great scenes, I found the male lead boring & severely lacking in comparison due to his lack of interests & interactions outside of his cat & female lead.
I felt as if a few episodes and more specifically the final episode had poor pacing & character rubber banding that made the couples emotional growth unearned and jarring. Some scenes were played for comedic effect (arguably at the wrong times) but it was obvious when they were serious which caused for awkward moments that regressed or progressed the couple’s romantic connection.
Regarding the romance, while their grouping was forced by the premise, the story of these two loners & neurodivergent goofballs interacting, growing, understanding & accepting each other’s interests, family & worlds was cute & entertaining. Their chemistry & love didn't exist at the start but as the episodes stack & the characters monologue to understand themselves & each other, the connection & those emotions blossom. Watching and listening to their growth was a sight for sore eyes.
Lastly, Side characters in 365 Days don’t receive much depth or offer anything to the show outside of being lessons for the main duo about marriage & relationships. After contributing these side characters all but cease to exist. One or two characters see more depth than the majority & in regards to one character specifically, they receive an AMAZING solo episode about the unexpected responsibilities that come with love, but even then they end up with no closure and irrelevancy as the final credits roll.
At the end of the day, I enjoyed what I watched and found it entertaining even if it has major & blatant flaws, based on other reviews and threads, I'd say your experience will vary and one of or all of the things listed above may help you reach a conclusion.

Mr Villain’s day off is a comfy & wholesome experience with beautiful art & character designs that match what we see of their personality & traits throughout the show. The music suits each episode perfectly and the show’s opening music & animation reflects itself in all aspects, that being said the ending featuring an upbeat song didn’t do the same which was only notable because of how great the opening was executed.
Each episode was a wholesome & cosy watch that focussed on separating oneself from work & enjoying the little things. Each episode showed us the aforementioned through the main characters fascination with Panda’s &
...
interactions with humanity, creatures & other side characters. There are a few episodes and scenes that get dramatic or emotional but they somehow maintained the established tone & vibes without feeling jarring. That being said there were massive time jumps during two episodes that weren’t reflected in others and I’m guessing that may be a result of the short story format but it was noticeable when every other episode felt linear.
I will say that I binged the show and while that might be the reason I picked up on its repetition & smaller issues, its comfy nature ended up helping me get some sleep. It might be better off not binging the show so that the aforementioned repetitive segments aren't noticeable however watching the main character establish a boundary, develop his appreciation for different aspects of the world & interact with the cast was addicting, so it might be difficult.
After completion I felt like the initial episodes were probably its weakest as it relied too much on the Panda fascination & the reminder that it’s his day off, to the point that it got repetitive & noticeable. The initial episodes don’t feature much of the wonderful side cast and that helped me reach such a conclusion as I personally found that his interactions & impact on them were the cream of the crop but sadly new introductions were sparse and limited to the second half of the season. While the show is about appreciating the little things in life and the aforementioned panda fascination is one of those things, I believe once the show found a balance between the aforementioned, new situations & added other interests it really picked up and highlighted that expression, the shows characters & stories more.
At the end of the day Mr Villain’s interests & personality were fun to watch but it really shined when it came to his interactions & reinforcement of the shows wonderful side characters & exploration of things outside of panda's. I think there are a few things regarding its world that you could be distracted by if you put some thought into it but thankfully the show does a great job at hiding & keeping you focussed on the wholesome & cosy setting.
If you want a fast or actionable Slice of life I don't think Mr Villains day off is for you but if you want a cosy experience with a surprising amount of depth, care & love, it's worth giving it a watch.
Without spoilers my favourite episode was about trees.

Overall, Loner Life in Another World is your generic Isekai that gives the protagonist “useless” skills and then stretches the meaning of those skills to the point that he can do anything, All the while surrounding them with a plethora of women who have an interest in him. That being said unlike its brothers & sisters in the genre, Loner in another world remained entertaining for me until the end simply due to the main character’s antics, morals & personality even though the show suffers from blatant problems & issues regarding its NUMEROUS side characters, world, gore, mechanics etc. .
The main character is debatably fun
...
to watch across the season but it was clear once the side characters were introduced that the show was better when focussing on the main character alone with a balanced level of interaction between the cast or that he needed a companion that he could bounce off. The second episode & final few episodes were a blast because of the balanced/new character interactions.
The first episode follows the loner premise & provides a decent introduction to the main character through monologues and exploration of his power however the second episode starts the derailment by abandoning the premise, overloading the cast with irrelevant characters & by introducing the Isekai staples that cause the aforementioned issues regarding its world, story, skills & characters, each of which continue to lose consistency, emotion, personality & intelligence as the episodes pile on.
While loners don't always want to be solitary, this show takes the piss out of that by making the main character the most important person to everyone in the show & integral to all student cliques, brain functions & actions, to the point that you question his initial loner status. While our MC socializing & engaging with his classmates improves the entertainment value, it comes at the cost of his intelligence, mentality & resolve during the middle of the season due to the overbearing, parenting & controlling nature of the side characters that berate him for not being “safe”. This usually comes after said characters have witnessed his display of power or ability to kill higher level creatures in prior scenes & episodes which makes such behaviour frustrating.
If I had to describe this show with a phrase it would be: tonal whiplash.
Rape, death etc. are major plot points and are discussed in episode one (with death shown as it progresses) yet outside of one instance, no one will mention, react or discuss what happened to fellow class mates & friends. On top of that the animation fails to depict it clearly. Everything feels & interacts like a slice of life, happy go lucky RPG fantasy comedy when it doesn't cut to the aforementioned scenes/conversations. It's depiction of wounds, death, knockouts etc. is all over the place, inconsistent and opposite of actual events leading to one questioning what actually took place, something you can notice if you check the discussion threads for specific episodes across different sites. On top of that if it is not the visuals, the dialogue has the same issues regarding the aforementioned events/actions with jarring tones & reactions.
note: if you do watch and are turned off by the cliff-hanger on I believe episode 3, I suggest watching the start of the follow up episode.
As stated earlier, Skill usage is the predictable stretching of what a term means, to the point that it can do & create anything with no limits or reasonable logic. There is literally a training sequence where the MC states that he merged his existing skills together to create a powerful attack without explanation or clarification. As the show continues he gains skills & abilities without levelling up and side characters have multiple starting skills that were unique to them without explanation. On top of that certain skills, combinations & abilities won’t return for obvious sequences in order to extend the current plotline.
At the end of the day, I managed to watch 12 episodes of this generic isekai with my brain on and enjoyed most of it thanks to the main character even though his character has major flaws but I obviously had issues with the show. I'm not sure if you will find it entertaining but do keep in mind that the first episode is not accurate to the whole show & if you want anything deeper than your generic isekai, Loner life in another world is not that.

The Dreaming Boy is a Realist had potential to explore the realization, reflection & improvement of a person who was consumed by infatuation and unrequited love to the point of obsessive & self-destructive stalker behaviour, as the initial episodes showcased & the title of the series implies. Instead it’s a series about how you can be rewarded for the aforementioned behaviour rather than the improvements and how after separating oneself from the situation (in this case no longer engaging with the love interest), realizing your faults and growing as a person, the target of the unrequited love who blatantly states NUMEROUS TIMES that they don't
...
share your feelings, will begin to care, reciprocate and engage.
'Stalk a girl until she says leave me alone & when you do just that, she'll fall for you'.
The Main character & love interest rarely interact across the 12 episodes and when they do it is frustrating & belittling to any realizations or improvements the protagonist had made. As a result the finale felt unearned, off-putting & sent a message that was opposite to that of the show’s title, main character & initial episodes.
Beyond the poor message, The Dreaming Boy is a Realist has sporadic pacing, poor focus (side characters received more focus than the main characters through multi episode arcs), lacking character designs & out of the blue character introductions.

Beyond the boundary is a beautiful anime to watch with stunning visuals and a fun, cute & entertaining duo of main characters that have a memorable catchphrase and interests but they do have inconsistencies with their actions & abilities. It's overall world & extended characters are either convoluted, unexplored or unaddressed, The aforementioned isn't much of an issue to begin with but once the ball gets rolling anything that is deeper than what was already explored & established in the first half of the season, separate to the main duo becomes a mess, especially in the final stretch of episodes.
The main take away I had
...
from the anime was the phrase "How unpleasant", That being said I cannot say the same for my opinions on the show although I can see how the ending & with the aforementioned world building issues, one might have that opinion or harsher.
