Touch is a very endearing story about growing up and love. As I searched for what to watch next, this came across my radar few times but passed it because it was about baseball - a sport which I had no idea about and still understand only basic aspects. Luckily, after watching Slam Dunk I decided I enjoyed sports anime and decided to give this a go. I'm so glad I did because this anime has a special place in my anime experience. Touch uses baseball to tell a bigger story about growing up and love. Synopsis is pretty accurate where Tatsuya takes a back

seat to his more accomplished twin brother Kasuya in life and love until that is he can no longer take the back seat and watch Kasuya go for the girl they both cherish since their childhood, Minami. Thus begins Tatsuya's development as an athlete and a person. The first season is absolutely brilliant. The series is long (4 seasons) and slowly develop the main characters. I guess this is part of the charm of this show but also felt like it dragged on for one season too long, maybe the 3rd season. Introduction of the irritating coach in the third season didn't help this and irritated me right until the end. Despite this I still think the whole show is a must watch for anyone who likes romance anime and don't mind old stuff which are bit rough around the edges due to the age. I love a good story with feeling and don't care about fancy art, animation, sound and visuals. This delivers on that and production is commendable for the time it was produced. It's an oldie but a goldie!
