“Pride is a very common failing... I am convinced that it is very common indeed; that human nature is particularly prone to it, and that there are very few of us who do not cherish a feeling of self-complacency on the score of some quality or other, real or imaginary.” - Mary Bennet
about me
"iti" is my name
"I love cats"
"I don't have much opinion about anime itself."
"I'm sure there must be anime for you and you deserve them"
"life is boring enough with drama that has no ending
that's why "perfect ending" always be needed"
I watch anime more for health, healing when tired. not because of passion or anything like that, but on the way I will find something extraordinary, which will make me like it even more.
don't count re-watching/reading... because... lazy but according to the score
10-8= a lot
7-6=sometimes
5-0= forgotten
i like music. here you can find AMV (Animated Music Video) that I have heard and like
10 : dreams
9-8 : great
7-6 : good
5 : normal
4 : not sure
3-0 : bad
That combination is rare because they belong to different genres, and two of these animes are pretty obscure.
Have you watched the more recent HxH anime adaptation?
Do you prefer dubbed or subbed version of Nozaki-kun?
Nah, don't feel sorry for opening up about your injury. That doesn't make me feel uncomfortable in a bit. I'm just surprised that you were comfortable enough to tell that to a total stranger, I guess. Hope you recovered well.
Wow! 1.5k AMVs! What a hard work it had to be to add them all to the Completed listed. As for me, I have around 40-50 favourite jpop songs, but most of them are from anime. Hearing about Sekai no Owari for the first time, tbh. Just listened to their top songs on Spotify. I like how different their songs are from each other, but they're not my cup of tea. Anyway, thanks for the recommendation to check them out.
1.5k animes watched since early age is still quite a lot. This makes you a veteran fan lol.
I watched Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, my first and second animes, when I was in my early teenage years, and I hadn't watched any animes for a long time after that because I mistakenly considered them boring and inferior to Western animation. However, it all changed when round 4.5-5 years ago I decided to watch AOT because of its fresh plot setup and insanely great action scenes and the. That's the point which I consider the starting point of my conscious anime journey. So it's not as long as yours XD.
Indeed, Rick and Morty does have an anime adaptation. I didn't watch because of its art style and low rating.
I'm also a big fan of Avatar and Pride and Prejudice (2005). Both are great in their own ways. Happy to find another fan.
Haven't watched Beastars yet. Is it worth watching?
Yeah, if I had watched Trigun after Pluto, I'd've probably had the same reaction as you did. Pluto is as great as Urasawa's another famous work, Monster. A big fan of both.
Hey, don't apologize for long messages. Give it all you have, type as many words as you want. I'd be happy to hear your thoughts about all sorts of stuff :-D.
The AMV you attached seems to be from The Boy and the Heron. Haven't watched the movie yet, so I'm not familiar with the song. Oh, it's by Kenshi Yonezu! Amazing artist! I love his Kickback and Kanden songs.
Hi! Wanna say the same about your collection as well! Huge respect for being a fan of OG HxH, Monthly Shoujo's Nozaki-kun, and Tatami Galaxy :-D. Didn't expect to find a person who liked all of them.
As for the blank profile, I'm just too lazy to fill it out lmao.
Forgive my English as it's my second language. Currently I'm into light-hearted animes with memorable settings and funny characters! I also love adult animated series like Aeon Flux, Arcane, and Rick and Morty. Ocassionally, I watch movies and kdramas.
What can I say about Trigun? I love both of the adaptations. Unlike the new adaptation, the original one was made while the manga was still in its early publication period. Hence, the huge amount of fillers and an original ending. However, the production team did a great job given the amount of source material they had. Naturally, the new anime is quite faithful to the manga, as it was released after the manga concluded publication. Aside from that, those animes differ a lot in tone. The older one is more upbeat and carefree. What are your thoughts on Trigun Stampede?
I see you've watched more 3k animes. That's an incredible! How did you even manage to do that?
I actually haven't seen that many super unknown things, most of the things I like are quite far from mainstream, but are still talked about somewhat in the anime community (like almost all of my favourites are in the top 1000 in terms of popularity).
With that said, I do know a few really obscure ones :
-A Tree Of Palme, which is one of my all-time favourite movies. It's a pretty high-budget movie of the early 2000's, directed by Takashi Nakamura (mostly known for being one of the animation directors of Akira and a key animator of Nausicaä) that got completely forgotten, despite having absolutely stunning visuals (especially the backgrounds) and music and having a super unique vibe and setting. It's not a movie for everyone, the story, while I like it, has issues, especially with it's pacing, because it tries to fit too many themes and sub-plots with too little time, and it's pretty bleak despite the character designs making it seem like a children's movie, but I think that if you do connect with it, it can resonates in a very special way, and it's worth watching purely for how unique it is.
-Fantastic Children, a show by the same director, which has also been completely forgotten. It doesn't look as good as A Tree Of Palme (which makes sense since it's a show) but it's story is even more unique and goes into directions that you would never expect, while also having way less issues as it is given the time to actually fully develop everything.
-Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, a lovely little two-episode OVA about a robot girl who runs a cafe in the japanese countryside after some kind of apocalypse happened and almost all humans are gone. It's very quiet and peaceful, but also melancholic, being set in a world slowly coming to it's end.
-Kaiba, a show that apparently is kind of talked about here on MAL but that I haven't ever seen mentioned anywhere else. It's a super creative 12-episodes sci-fi show where the protagonist one day wakes up having lost all of his memories and goes on to explore a world where memories are stored in chips that can be separated from the body. It really explores it's concept in every way imaginable and it's full of incredible animation.
-Machikado no Märchen (also known as Radio City Fantasy), probably the most obscure one I know. It's a 54-minutes 1984 OVA that I know purely because Yoshitaka Amano, my favourite illustrator, worked on it. It's basically about an artist who meets a mysterious girl, the two fall in love and share their dreams and fantasies in beautiful animation sequences. It's very charming and alternates between these very creative surrealist sequences and cute scences of the two characters hanging out in the city. I haven't managed to find it with subtitles though (which honestly is fine with this one, you can understand most of it through the visuals).
Aaaaand that's about it I think. There are a couple really super weird ones that I know, but they're really not for everyone and are hard to recommand. If you want precisions on things, links to watch any of these of more recomandations I'd be happy to give them !
Glad you liked it (:, I also wanted to recommend Baccano to you, but you said you didn't want to watch supernatural so I didn't, but I still think you would enjoy it.

Sorry for such a long message, btw.
