Although comedy is not my favorite genre, this is a rare exception. Even with a large part of the show being action related, the comedy of it shines through.
If you have seen the show, you know that the story is about a man who is suddenly gifted a strange baby. What follows is a story involving his close friends, a "maid", and the students at various high schools.
The interesting part of this show is how some characters bounce off of each other, and the fact that the characters are very self aware.
This show is not meant to be taken seriously, but it
...
does have some lighthearted and charming moments. Overall it is a very good watch, but it does have some detractions.
The show becomes unfocused and more action oriented as it progresses, and shifts the focus from demons, which is the funniest part of the show. The "antagonist", or demon lord, is quite a show stealer.
The premise and its execution are quite different, but it is well worth a watch.

Although it seems like the story is quite tranquil and mundane at the beginning, it transcends this level as the story progresses.
The first ten or twelve episodes create a sort of buildup and introduction to quite funny and unique characters. This buildups includes the infamous headless rider, who is quite well humanized. As these different characters and motivations occur the story starts to build up.
The pacing of this show is built undo the non-linear style, which is quite unique. This allows some events to be shown out of order and can create confusion.
The story itself has quite a few fun twists and
...
turns which allow the watcher to enjoy the ride. And that is what it is, a story that moves at a mile a minute and weaves many different plotlines, although this is not perfect.
Even with the incredible work put into the individual stories, some of the movements are hard to believe. The ending is quite satisfying, but some moments seem unbelievable. There are also some cliche moments.
Overall though, the story manages to weave a large amounts of plot points almost seamlessly and indulges in cliches, drama, development, and comedy.
The art is also good, and the background grey characters are well needed. This allows more focus on other characters, and shows their effort to not be the forgettable grey background of an ever changing city.
It is definitely worth a watch. Just like a rollercoaster ride, durarara has a slow buildup and a thrilling ending that you don't want to end.

Although this is a sequel or addition to fate zero, it is not very similar in tone.
Sadly, the route taken was similar to a typical anime show. Although I have not read the Fate Novel series, this series falls flat.
Although the art is beautiful, it is just skin deep.
The story is also quite slow and has no real motivation or build. This stems from the fact that the characters are teenage and are being slightly manipulated.
The main struggle shown throughout this season and the second is shirou emiya and his ideals, specifically a hero of justice.
Spoiler/ He has no zero
...
character development and does not change his ways after seeing the flaws in his thinking, and this arc becomes pointless/Spoiler
The sound is good and allows for an intense sequence, but the fighting sequences do not have as much weight and there is not a real sense of danger. The masters and servants seem to change places every episode so the possible attachment to each is very lacking.
The character are also rather two dimensional and easy to figure out. I wish that more time was dedicated to Rin, and that archer's arc actually produced some change.
Overall, this show was severely lacking compared to its predecessor fate zero. The lighter tone, younger age, and less changed subject matter may be factors in this lower quality. As beautiful as the show appears, it is not much more than eye-candy.

This is one of the only anime I have watched that allowed the viewer to totally immerse themselves in the story. Even classics such as death note, FMA:Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, NGE, or even Trigun allowed me to become so immersed in a story.
The three main arcs of the story allow a wide range of characters, sides, and emotions to be shown.
The first ten episodes of the show are probably the most well constructed and interesting episodes ever constructed for an anime. This is probably the only anime couple in a sense that feels organic and not forced. The character development, motivation, and pacing
...
is on point.
The 11-15 episodes allows groundwork to be built for the rest of the series. Although it allows a great stage to be set, there are some parts of the story that feel lacking in comparison to the first 10 episodes.
Episodes 16-20 reinforce the character development, tie up a lot of lose ends, and bring the story full circle.
The last arc allows the true ramifications of the previous actions to be set in effect, and allow a truly perfect yet bittersweet ending.
There are a lot of clever references to romeo and juliet in this work. I have not scene the play phantom in the opera, but it seems that it could draw from this work also.
Unfortunately, the series seems very short. Some events could have been more flushed out. Despite this, the series is one that really invests the audience and plays its cards at the right time.
It is a must watch for viewers of black lagoon, darker than black, or similar titles. It does not have a lot of fanservice, but it feels appropriate when it occurs. This grace uplifts the show.
Some of the weaker points are some inconsistent pacing, and a rather weak or cliche villain. The head of the organization also does not receive his proper development, but this is because he appears more as a figure than as a real person.
