Sorry I just need to get this out of the way because there are so many good reviews. Now I love my fairy tails I really do. Except if I'm going to be honest the story plot isn't really that good, Simplified it's basically just a boy who ends up finding a girl and realising about her not being able to have control over her body and so he befriends her and helps her through gaining control of her life again especially with her family. If you like how the sounds good for you. Honestly the premise is good but it's execution is plain and
...
pretty lacking. I admit though the characters especially the one who likes to exercise are actually pretty good I liked getting to know them. I read this when I was bored and with no idea what the score on this manga was, now that I finished it I don't regret reading it but it definitely doesn't deserve review scores of 8,9 and 10s. I found this story to be just okay with a unique premise though it wasn't done well. Maybe around 7s at best for those who really enjoyed it.

I love the prequal so I was really happy when I realised that it finally had an conclusion to end it. But once I watched it I was left very unsatisfied. There are spoilers but I don't think it should matter much since it's just an ova.
There are good and bad things about this ova let's start with the good.
Koto is still a good guy at heart and I loved how he decided to use his last wish. The "tea date" he had with Rurumo was adorable and going shopping for Rurumo's last day was really sweet. I specifically loved the ending part
...
when Kota said "she used to be my sister" and man using the same ending song kicks back the nostalgia, with all the same voices I loved and missed. Getting to see Rurumo always a plus.
The first episode was really great so what went wrong I wonder? Ep 2 was a complete disaster i'll tell you that. Ep 1 is a solid 6. Ep 2 deserves a 4 for how badly written it was.
First up is how the fact humans were used for magic was simply only glossed over (though it now makes sense why his wishes would make him die) but human lives should not be something used in a show like this, But the very worst thing was the overdramatic court scene. If you don't like unreasonable coincidence for plot convenience then you definitely won't like the cliche fairy queen rescue. Didn't she spend enough time on earth to know not to cross a street like that especially with a car so close. Plus Kota met her twice (how often do you run into a person so much and on the same day). But no the coincidence doesn't end there. How convenient the person he saved was the queen and how convenient that fairy queen even kept his body. It doesn't even end with just the queen. What are coincidence they found out where Kota's soul crystal was kept and that one specifically.
(yes i'm aware some of what I said occurred in ep 1 but until ep 2 I did not realize how bad these small coincidence would ruin ep 2)
Not to even mention how ridiculous and dumb the plan even is
They knew the soul crystal itself couldn't speak or hear itself yet steal stole it making the whole thing pointless if it wasn't for Mimi who "coincidently" had a body for him
Rurumo was prepared to go back to being a trainer witch again which would have made Kota's entire sacrifice worthless. Not to mention she would need to end another person's life to become a witch again
Kota's excuse on how he came back to life I'm not sure weather I should find it funny or dumb.
Little other things I need to add in.
- I think the art was worst then before might just be my imagination though
- Why wasn't there another way to stop the car. Using ice was way too abnormal and weird did no passable realise the car was stopped by ice??
- They tried to fit too much stuff into two episodes

You can just skip to the end if you want to.
Characters (I don't hate the heroine)
If you're like me the thing that's making you hesitate are the characters. You read this in the other reviews before "the main characters are so annoying and I hate them". I can see where their coming from but guess what. I don't actually hate the heroine. Feel free to double check that you read it correctly. I was very reluctant to give this manga a try because I heard such bad things about her but honestly I found her to be an interesting character. It's refreshing to
...
see such a selfish character in a manga and I really liked her dynamic with Adachi (The girlfriend of the guy she likes). Interesting and ironic when your telling your rival your trying to steal her guy so stand up and fight back otherwise you will take him away. If there is anyone you should hate it is with no doubt Rita. I swear he repeatedly he keeps leading the girls on, cheating, and is so indecisive. I hate him more then I hate Makato (school days). Because at least school days know that their character is trash and he's meant to be. But Rita nooooo what are you talking about he was always a good guy. No he wasn't. And I hate this manga for even making him seem like that in the end. Like he can do no wrong and just plays hero. I don't blame the heroine when Rita is giving her such mixed signals and playing with her.
All in all the answers to your question
"is this worth a read ?"
My answer is if you like drama or feeling frustration. Yeah knock yourself out. A good well plot romance?? stay away. Far away.
It's worth a read if you want to see an interesting dynamic between the two rival girls and how they deal with each other. It's not sugar coated. It's not meant for sweet lovey dovey stuff. And that's why I liked it cuz it was a refreshing change from the shoujo I read. The characters don't have the whole "misunderstanding" nope the drama is meant to happen. created from the characters themselves. purposely. and their well aware of that.
"I still don't know if I should read it "
Read a couple chapters if you hate the characters that much you'll finish soon. If your still okay you might survive till the end.
I'm gonna say here the only regrets I have of reading this manga is the end. Probably the worst ending I ever read tbh. I would have actually not much to complain about and so would other people if the ending was different. And yes I did find the manga alright. And there were things I enjoyed. Otherwise I would not have let myself sit through torture reading it all. I hoped my review helped you.

Can't believe I just realised no one has wrote a review for this. Would do a proper one now except it's past 3 am and my brain isn't working. But in any case it is a short read and it is a good read. Even if you might end up not liking it it's only four chapters you don't have much to lose. Personally I found it super enjoyable and in a matter of four chapter it has captured not only my attention but my heart. The characters are great. Story is great. Lately I've been getting sick of shoujo but compare to others this
...
is so much more refreshing and impactful.
Okay update my brain is working now yes but I have decided to just keep it like this. I really don't have anything more I would like to add or change.

Hey folks looking for a recent review? here's one for 2020
First of all it has aged really well. For something that was made back in 1990 it looks pretty good. No complaints with art or animation.
As for the soundtrack the opening I like, the endings fine but I wouldn't want to listen to it too often. Music within the show I would say was was done pretty well nothing to be surprised about though.
The characters are well written and their personalities shine through. The way the characters think and act are very precise to the time they are in, as least to my
...
belief. And as much as I might want to hate a character especially Julia I can't say they ever did something that was too out of character for them. Honestly there are times I get frustrated with the characters but I can appreciate that they have very realistic flaws that make them human.
The story itself well as for this "mysterious benefactor" I don't think anything has been easier to guess. I's not bad but just wasn't expecting it to be "that" easy.
I guess occasionally there is a little sexist comment about "being more ladylike" but it's understandable from that time.
Now this is the part I hated most of all. I can't believe on one has said this yet but Judys romance is the absolute worst and if anyone actually thinks about it it is seriously messed up on so many levels. If you want to know more read all of it.
SPOILERS JUST SKIP TO NEXT PARAGRAPH (it's really important though)
I'm going to ignore the big age crush Julia has and instead go on about Judys. Now at the start I didn't hate it so much because he wasn't making any moves on the girl and it was just a simple one side crush Judy had because she didn't know. But he knew and never told her, even worst he even made moves on Judy. Dude you should know better. Not even considering the age gap he knew he was a dad figure to her in the letters she wrote. Ordering her to not be allowed to hang out with her finds to the point where she now considers the letters to be a sad obligation and wants to get rid of you to the point she feels she has no control over her life and wants to be fully independent. Yet he still shows up not telling her a thing instead still trying to get her to fall you knowing she doesn't know you are the person in the letters. He is full on manipulative. With letters he's marrying someone he knew and was financially supporting when she was 12. Without letter he's marrying someone who is young enough to be his daughter. Daughter or could have been daughter you tell me what's worst both are incredibly bad.
If I had to pick something I really didn't like from the story it would be the part where Judy says "finally became a normal girl" and expresses how much she hates to go back to the orphanage. Now I get she isn't exactly proud of being an orphan but really during her time there you telling me there wasn't anyone she wanted to see, no bonds she made with anybody?? it just makes the first episode where they show how tough it was her to leave and how much she cared about the other children seemed useless. For good parts Judy letters do feel genuine and something I actually look forward to reading.
If there is anything that I like about this show is that you see how the characters grow up from children to adults. When they are young and basically everything before ep 25 the show is kind of lighthearted and focus on relationships with friends and ordinary student life. As they start to grow up you can start to see (literally) the characters mature and interactions with others and their how topic of conversations start to change. It really feels as if you grown alongside with them.
The show is enjoyable enough though (completely ignoring existence of the romance thing) and I do plan to finish all of it. If you can sit through 10 episodes that's basically the tone throughout the whole series.

I never made reviews for manga yet alone yaoi manga but this sure deserves one. If this is too long for you please just skip to the end. Although the premise might sound like a typical one and to be honest I was actually a bit put of by at the start and actually found a bit ridiculous and still do not gonna lie. But this manga has so much to offer that by the end I completely had my mind change. The hesitance in how the relationship started feels very real for the characters and I love that this manga did not go the
...
usual route of turning this into a annoying thing where even when the problem is solved it needs to be solved again. Even the problem with a girl suddenly in the house was solved immediately and very simply whereas other manga would make them way more complicated then necessary
It surprised me because where as I thought the whole story would revolve around the guy insecurities and how that he isn't loved anymore because he no longer looks feminine I get something much better then that. It instead shows a very loving a healthy relationship dealing with a change in their relationship In that now his partner wants to be the top. They way the couple communicate and expressing desires in sex is something you don't get often in yaoi manga. Where this manga shines is truly in the relationship and how much these two people care for and understand each other. I appreciate how much the guy puts effort into trying to be a bottom because he knows it would make him happy even though he isn't used to it and didn't go for men in the beginning. And I also like how his partner understand the difficulties, recognises his efforts and understands if its to hard to do. You can really feel how both parties are very loved and care for each other. I like how in the end it doesn't matter who does top or bottom. Relationships don't always have have one person stuck to one position (top or bottom). if one day they want to swap or swap back they can.
it is a very pleasing story with no rape scenes at all. Instead it was so consensual. Even if you aren't that much into yaoi or just want to give it a go try this one. And for those who read a lot yaoi, it really feels very refreshing and different. Just because there's sex doesn't mean there has to be force. Or that people can become a versatile couple. This is the thing you all been asking for yaoi people.
All in all I'm probably making this story sound beautiful. I mean what I said is true but it isn't a story that will make you cry or feel so much emotion or anything like that. Just read it for fun you don't have to think to hard or read into it as much as I did. The first time I read it I didn't know I found a rare gem or that it was anything special. It's not a deep story just one that warms your heart.

I mean if there was one thing I learnt from myanimelist is to prepare yourself to see what the worst comments said. And frankly I have to agree with most that was said, a lot of these parings were bad or ridiculous, even when going in with the low expectations. And I'll start by explaining all the love parings this show has. Though I might end up spoiling who gets together I won't actually spoil too much of the show so you can enjoy it yourselves if you want to. Overall I find this show bad but there were some parts to it that made
...
it worth watching. So this should actuality be a 4.6 show for me.
Ayumi/Zatsu/Misao (the two boys are brothers)
Aihara, I don't have much to say about this girl just that she spent an awfully long time to think of a reply to a confession. Besides her actually calling Misao a monster she's alright, don't hate her don't like her.
Zatsu, I would not be surprised at all if the writer just created him so they have another guy, but wait, what can I do to make the girl like him?? I know a scene with princess carrying and just gives him a dream of helping people and that's practically his whole character. He is awfully bland. Only other thing I need to mention is that he is part of a conflict because he likes another girl called Misaki
Misao is just simply a terrifying appearance with the purest heart that's why I like him but dude you need to stop acting like a stalker and following her even though you were worried about her, but at least his heart was in a good place unlike some other character.
Ennomoto (Girl) and Kusadai (Guy)
At first she was okay and I actually liked her..... before she started liking the guy and turned out to be a tsundere. Now that itself isn't bad but now imagine one of the worst tsundere ever possible that's her. it is full on annoying how she keeps going about looks and full on disses on the guy she likes even. It took the guy to be so annoyed with it all for her actually confess. I argue that most of the fights were her fault and I don't think she would have given chocolates to him at all if he didn't say to her "I wouldn't mind getting some chocolate from anyone". Even when receiving the Christmas gloves instead of saying thanks she goes " it looks good on me doesn't it"
The guy on the other hand I really loved his joke about the movie with animals but all that went out the bag once he diberately put a girl to sleep using bad puns so that he could advise his friend to "abandon logic" like just no, There are several scenes where his pervert tendencies just goes overboard but I'm just gonna stop it there. He full on is just creepy for those who hate Mineta (MHA) I argue that he's just as bad if not worst. But I guess the writers realised this mistake and went oh no we need to give him a good quality, Thanks to that he went from absolute trash to can be decent person at times and I'm so happy they reduced his level of creepiness and after he became much more bearable, I could even like him maybe if he was like that at the very start. Now I don't really care how perveted he is but there is a line, a clear one that shouldn't be crossed. it's the Mineta line and if your character is as bad as him you are doing something very wrong.
The relationship itself is actually one that has quite a lot of time dedicated to it so try to give it a chance for your own sake. As much as I didn't like the characters I could still enjoy their story even though there were bad and good bits to it. One scene I did like were when they were wearing each others presents in class.
Watase and Takei
its a pretty plain and simple story, one people consider to be the weaker of the show unfortunately. I can see why people didn't like it so much but I found it durable enough like the part where she becomes a manager. Why I don't enjoy it much is that the comedy wasn't used much but hey if you want big boobs it's here. As boring as the story might be I like it better then others just because the pair were actually decent people and didn't have as much drama as the others. It kept things simple and did a good job of it. If you feel like it try giving it a shot, okay if you don't like it though
Girl who's self conscious about her big boobs and her first love dude who sees her for more then a pair of boobs all of this combined with swimming. it's a pretty sweet paring. Unfortunately I don't really know how to describe them as they're both pretty ordinary, forgive me for leaving this one out okay.
Dobashi (Girl) and Terai (Boy)
This is one of the best ones in my opinion, When you first see the characters it can sort of be assumed these two would get together. what I love though is that once someone found out what was happening these two were already dating. It has none of those messy love plots where they had to go through a lot of stuff to be together and it's a first for each of them to the dating world.
When first meeting Dobashi it's shown she is very respected for her talent in sport however we can also see how the boys around her saying how none of them would want to date her as I guess she would wear the "pants" in a relationship (she was the one that suggested to date after all). She has a strong personality but is normally closed off, though makes an effort to open her heart more often.
Terai on the other hand is bad at sports as has a pretty weak personality. I love him though and he is one of my favourite male characters. He is a bit of a nervous wreck and he feels actually developed as he tries his very best to summon the courage to be a proper boyfriend. His internal struggles are made quite clear and they have a very natural romance
Misaki/Zaitsu/Yoshihiko
Now here is the ridiculous part of the story if it isn't ridiculous enough yet. Misaki is the love interest of these two boys. Zaitsu who is her friends brother and they all known each other for a long being neighbours and Yoshihiko who is a fellow school classmate. Yet another love triangle but this ones worst cuz it is way bigger then any triangle, maybe try polygon. Was the writer testing how many possible people he could get involved in this relationship problem or what. I feel as if this would get too complicated ad I don't want to spoil to much of the show so i'll stop here but in other words this is the biggest conflict of the show and I don't think it's a good one in my opinion. I don't like how it started but I do like how straightforward it was resolved.
Misaki and Yuuji
Now wait a second this is the same person but with a different guy?? why don't you just include him on top. There are very simple reasons for one is it will make it even more complicated and I feel as if it will be easier to understand starting with this guy because there is so about this ship I want to talk about.
Misaki gets confessed to a lot but turns them all down this is because she does not like anyone but beyond that she has never ever had a crush on anyone before so she doesn't get what it feels like. Yet one day this person who gave her a lollipop as a joke yes she falls for him. At least in the Valentine episode Misaki herself questions this love so the whole ridiculousness isn't just played of for laughs which is something I think I'm happy about. Sad thing is he has a huge sister complex and considers her his most important person. That sister is Arihara. (the one with the brother love triangle). But I think everyone can all agree that this paring was one with the least time given to it. I want to say more about this but I don't want to give to much information for those who actually want to watch so I'll put the rest below.
SPOILERS JUST SKIP TO NEXT PARAGRAPH
I do appreciate that she didn't have to choose between the two boys that liked her but that ending where they got together was pretty terrible and kinda rushed when Arihara barely shown any signs at all that he liked her. Or also the fact the was barely any time on these two it felt very rushed at least to me.
And now I regret writing so much about a show I don't even like that much. If someone has actually read any of this or if it has actually provided any help at all then thank you at least it wasn't a total waste I guess.. Feel free to disagree to anything I say as long as it's respectful.

PLEASE NOTE THIS REVIEW IS WRITTEN WHEN I WAS IN A RANT MOOD SO IT CAN BE PRETTY HARSH. NOR HAVE I WATCHED THAT MANY EPISODES. I will edit it eventuality when I start watching it again. And to be honest despite how much the characters may annoy me the show itself is actually pretty good. I suggest giving it a go. The overall rating that I gave this show is just for now.
Story 6/10 maybe?? (better then my average)
Mikako has a crush on her childhood friend Yamaguchi Tsutom. She ends up heartbroken because her love ended when it just started. She found
...
out he got a girlfriend. Trying to forget about all of this she decided to from a circle who participates in flea markets. And so a group of people are formed all having their own ambitions and goals. And a little bit of romance for the love triangle.
If you told me that's what the story is about I would have just said boring. But really it's surprisingly good and the pacing is excellent. Found the first episode a bot boring but it really grows on you
Art (Yeah it's fine )
That art is kind of weird at the start but you will just get use to it. It not so bad that it takes away from the experience. I had no problems at all wth the art.
Sound 8.5/10
Like everyone says this is a great aspect of this show. They chose the prefect songs (OST) to play at the perfect times. None of the songs feel out of place and it just brings you into the moment (some would argue they use it quite a bit though) .
Character 4.5-5/10
I really hate Mikako. Her jealously is ridiculous. oh no somebody is dating the one I like so of course she's a bitch. when in actuality she is a pretty nice girl. So many times she has said nasty things about her. She even throws a slap at the boy because she saw them kissing. She doesn't even have a right to slap him like that since she isn't his girlfriend. I admit she does try her best to get over him and get rid of all this jealously but it doesn't really work.
Although I do love her red hair friend and thank her for being the voice of reason. I can't stand it when occasionally she acts like the two are going to get together like it's already guarnteered. Like no he has a girlfriend don't encourage her to keep pursuing him.
In fact I don't know whats the point in even making the boy look like a celebrity. It's not like he enters show business or anything. They could have just added good looks and be done with it if they wanted a reason why girls would like him so much.
Girlfriend did have a personality and I was really looking forward to knowing her more but ever since she started dating it's just ''hey let's hang out and shop'' they don't even brother letting her say anything else when she had the potential to be interesting
Enjoyment
For me everything good was besides the characters if it weren't for that I would have enjoyed this show a whole lot more.

I would advise you not to watch this. It has so many problems even for a show dedicated towards kids.
At the start Comet saids she needs to save up star power but already we see her wasting it on useless things. how useless you ask, Its even being used to do simple chores like hanging up clothes. If they are going to add some rules for magic they should at least follow it. Was there even a point adding limitations anyway?
Don't even get me started on the rocket tree. If a tree flew so high up at such speed let me tell you the
...
gravitation pull would be so strong and you would certainly come crashing back down. Now I know what your thinking chill this is just a kids show who cares about gravity force or what not but still this is a show with *magic* they could have come up with anything better and yet they stuck wth this. Was their really no better idea apart from flying trees ? No better idea to entertain the kids in the show ?
Now let's speak about Princess Meteor she legit couldn't care less if the kids died and almost had them killed. All just because she was a petty brat who was annoyed. She tried to trip someone yet accidentally got trip instead because of it, and that somehow justified her reasoning, Apparently though she does become better person and found a nice romance with someone else but sorry I'm pulling out. Even though I am slightly curious about the romance thing.
Keep in mind the whole reason they could go to earth was just so these two 12 years old girls could win the heart of some guy (the prince) . Though that can kind of be forgiven since one of the doesn't even want to marry him instead going to earth to have fun. And really I blame it on their parents.
Despite these problems just from 2 episodes wouldn't say that this was that bad. Just incredibly boring to watch. I think it gets better but I honestly can't be bothered, got to much anime to watch.
If you think I overexaggerated or came off to strong can't say I blame you. This show just really didn't appeal to me somehow.

Summary- I guess why I didn't like it as much was the fact I expected some Shakespeare level writing because it was rated so highly (definitely didn't deserve such high scores). Moreover the trailer fools us thinking it was about two lovers when it was all just mostly about a mother's love, which I had no problems until they added in what felt like forced romantic love stories (read below to see what I mean). If you want a movie about a mothers love as well as maturity of children just watch Wolf Children it's so much better. If you like to disagree with anything
...
I said, missed or failed to understand then just leave a comment.
ART AND MUSIC
The art is pretty good, if only they decided to add more variety to looks since the Iorph race all look around the same to me as I will explain below. The ending song (the humming in the trailer) sounds so meaningful filled with nostalgia and sadness, couldn't have picked a better song. Though the music for everything else wasn't that memorable.
CHARACTERS
Leilia (favourite) is a character filled with so many complex emotions especially when she broke down and snapped off all her jewellery we can see her psychological state and love for her child. Maquia is another wonderful character who tries so hard to be a good mother. A true shame there wasn't more scenes with Izol who we can tell does not truly agree with the king and is actually a respectful decent person. I would have wanted a scene where he betrayed the king unfortunately that didn't happen. Getting rid of a bad king That would have made such a good story plot. a much better reason the country was at war in the first place lets be honest no one cares who won the war anyway there was nothing personal about it. Every other character seemed badly done to me. One went psycho one was boring and the others we just see for a couple of minutes for plot convenience and know next to nothing about them.
STORY PROBLEMS
Biggest problem was all the forced love interest in it. You do not see your sister or mother in a romanic light. Sure they aren't actually blood related so if your fine with that then sure but I can't stand that sort of thing, since young they have all being raised as a family.
It has a slow start but one of the worst things about it was the wasted potential the had. It could have dived better into themes such as war, racism, betrayal it would have been so easy to do but none of that. Let me explain...
A few minutes of war was shown but why was there a war happening? instead of just giving us the common because they want more land duh, why not take it more personal then that so it could be more climatic. It was said that Iorph race were treated unfairly but it would have being better to actually have one of those scenes where they go down a street and get food thrown at them or actually end up executed. A reason that could have also connected for a war to happen. Watching the trailer thinking it was going to have all that I was disappointed hoping it would be a big thing.
Character design was absolutely terrible. Genuinely had trouble telling the difference Maquia and Leilia when Maquia hair turned long blonde again. At the start it never told us why her changed to brown in the first place and gave no reason for it turning back to normal. As why was she even pregnant in the first place? did she actually get captured? then why is Krim there with her? how did they even manage to escape? And I guess the writers forgot she was even pregnant in the first place since it was never ever mentioned or shown again.
They used too many time-skips with a failure to show any beforehand build up in order for it to make sense. We all get throw suddenly into a war leaving the audience completely confused on what has happened and happening.
Spoiler- Ending was a good idea but I just don't see why Leilia still needed to to separated from her daughter when they clearly love each other. It would have been fine if it was just a reunion scene added in with a hug while Maquia flew away symbolising their freedom. I just don't care about the ending after that.
One of the things I think actually did pretty well was the topic of mortality. Everyone would sooner or later die. That was why it was mentioned " if you fall in love you will truly be alone" At first I was confused how can you be even more lonely? It's because if you don't love someone you can't miss them. You can't miss something you never had or wanted. Living old enough to see everyone die we can see this happen.
