Similar concept: normal girl has to deal with "wacky" personalities in the form of dead famous people with a modern anime take. Marie & Gali has scientists; ClassicaLoid has composers. She doesn't like them, but they grow onto her.

Both are coming-of-age stories that use sports as a tool for character development and focus more on the depth of the characters involved in the games and matches (even the minor ones).

Both series deal with LGBT+ issues through slice of life stories with a protagonist (slightly homophobic straight guy) who realizes that gay stereotypes are harmful and false after living with a chill gay man.

Tekkon Kinkreet

Story-wise, both works have strong character development for multiple characters, and both stories are also propelled by conflicts centering shady and complicated organizations (in short: similar antagonists). Directing/art-wise, every scene from both anime feel like an art piece: carefully done, and detailed. Both use deranged (and fantastic) animation to depict disturbing moments. While the physical and violent moments are obviously disturbing (and frequent), the focus on how a character's psyche gets impacted is more jarring. While Kemonozume is a lot darker than Tekkon Kinkreet, the odd humor is still there.

Shinya Shokudou

Shinya Shokudou has a central focus on "izakaya" food--Japanese pub/street grub, which is also explored in Oishinbo several times. While Shinya Shokudou focuses on one establishment, contrasting Oishinbo's many different venues, both have stories presented in an episodic fashion, with each chapter dealing with a varying cast of people (with occasional familiar faces) whose backstories are intertwined with the food they indulge in. Like Oishinbo, Shinya Shokudou is a manga aimed towards the older crowd, about an older crowd.

There are 5 characters in the main cast There are "enemies of the week" and one main enemy The main characters have "alter egos" with special powers necessary to defeat evil (Although, JoJo cast do not transform, but summon said egos) Both are old manga and old anime remade with sharp animation and bright colors. Also, note the 3d in both the openings. ps: Sailor Jupiter looks like Kakyoin, with wavy pink hair and green uniform.

The narration (and his explanations). The over the top animation. The calculated battles of the struggling, but determined protagonist(s) against opponents that completely overpower them. While JoJo is more of a straight up physical fighting anime, there is an undiluted focus on strategy and mind games, much like Kaiji.
