Overall is an 8/10. I can sympathize with the main character and was impressed once the reveals started coming in. When I say the story begins opening up after 20 or so chapters, I do mean that. In fact, I suggest skipping to chapter 14 if you find his initial state displeasing. You might question a few things at first, but you will have skipped most of the unpleasantness without missing the key points.
I give the story an 8/10:
This is a story in which the hated shield hero must develop and grow to save a country. He asks for no pity as he quickly
...
becomes jaded and begins fending for himself. He has no other choice but to save the country as he will die as well if it falls. Watching his development and his oh so classy remarks toward those that ostracized and hazed him for wielding a shield are the main points of the first 15 chapters. After getting passed all this the story starts to widen up and explore more ideas. I must say that the premise initially seems quite weak, but the author introduces reasons for everything. It is not that everyone blindly hates shield users, it's just spoilers I can't say.
The art is a 7/10
It does well in that I never felt it took away from the experience. I can't say much else as I don't critique art much.
The characters are 7/10
The other three heroes are narcissists that project the games they used to play onto their new reality. Because they're so full of themselves, they blindly join in on the hazing of the shield hero. People the shield hero directly helps do not ignore his contributions and instead opt to stop believing the lies spread of him. If you consider how effective propaganda can be, the reactions of almost everyone in the story begin to make sense. No one ignores what''s right before their eyes, but until then they can only believe what they've heard. As for the hero himself, he is extremely jaded, but also kind. He still helps innocents, but has no intention of being pushed around. It is a reaction I can wholeheartedly see myself taking and why I read 42 chapters in one go. As for the others, once questions started getting answered, I started thinking they weren't badly written reactions.
Below is a description of the characters.
Royalty: the presiding king seems to exist for no other purpose than showing disdain for the shield hero.
Three offensive heroes: These three are all narcissists who believe no one but themselves can be right. They are obsessed with their game logic and often don't consider consequences for their actions. They show disdain for the shield as being a weak gamer class and join in the hazing of the him whole hardheartedly once the shield is framed for the first time. They essentially expect everything to be black and white with themselves permanently in the white.
The masses are then split in two. Those that see the shield hero enact good praise him and are kind. The rest haze him to the maximum extent they are able.
The shield hero's eventual party is filled with good people. They are close knit and bare scorn for those who seek to frame and ostracize the shield hero at every turn.
The Shield hero himself is rather human in my opinion. He was hazed to no end and bore a grudge that became a hatred he had trouble controlling. He helped the innocent while making sure he got paid and developed his powers while cleaning up the mistakes of the other three heroes. While he was backed into a corner and adapted to make sure he could survive, he also never stopped wanting to save the lives of the innocent.

The story is good for a hentai. Young boy with big dick gets mounted by demons he comes across. No tentacle pron, brutal rape, or fugly dudes, just a big titty demon pushing down a young boy.
Sound and character are also good. The boy is budhist monk and the demon cares about nothing more than sex. I don't notice sound unless it's really bad.
Now for the problem.
While the art is fine, the animation is horrible. Every still frame looks good, but they put minimal effort into animating the scenes. Personally, I can't fully enjoy a hentai without proper animation, so this brought
...
my overall score down to a 6. If you're fine with middle school level animation, then this is a good OVA, but I otherwise suggest you pass. As an example, the animation of a blow job was only one tier above just dragging the image of her head up and down where his dick is supposed to be. In fact, the comment board on Hentai Haven was almost entirely about the bad animation.

Overall: 6
I would first like to point out the inaccuracy of Maikocchi. There is an attempted rape scene that gets stopped and never attempted up again as well as what looks like a fan service character who has the only 10 seconds of fan service in the entire show. That's two instances totaling two minutes across 240 minutes of content, this show is not perverted.
The season ends on a major cliffhanger as if they planned on 16 episodes, ran out of budget, and just extended the scene they were working on to end at 12 episodes. The show also doesn't really get going until
...
episode five or so since they flesh out each additional member as they arrive. If they edited the first two or three episodes down into one and actually gave the season an ending, I'd have rated the show a seven or eight.
Story: 7
The story starts with two people in a death trap. It then turns out they're on an island and they find more and more people on said island. The story continues as these people go through the island and encounter various types of ways to be killed. It's kinda like a survival version of the Saw series in that way.
Characters: 7
The show gets a decently sized cast of diverse people. They look stereotypical, but I found that each one had good reactions; they had legitimate thoughts and acted for a reason, not for their character's type. For instance, they have an American blonde bombshell in a tank top. Instead of being there for fan service, she is an expert marksman and a cop. In fact, her character could have just as easily been drawn as a middle aged man.
Art and Sound: 6
I'm not particular about these, so I'm just going to rate them fair for unremarkable and move on.

Story: 6
This volume is split into seven stories of vanilla styled sex, though all are pedophilia. The show lost some points for me due to the situations gradually becoming less consensual on the girl's part as the chapters progress. The chapters are otherwise just boy meets grade schooler.
Art: 7
Typical of a hentai manga and not censored.
Characters: 7
Two of the relationships seem like they could become proper relationships given a few years time. The characters are also diverse enough to allow for there to be seven different stories in one volume
Enjoyment: 6
I enjoyed the first few because I require a consenting/happy female to
...
enjoy it. The rape style in the last three weren't to my taste.
Overall: 6
All in all, a decent fap if you're okay with pedophilia in manga, complete trash otherwise.

Overall 6: It's a good show so long as you don't care about the premise and either like or don't mind looking at dicks. I don't fall into either of those categories and therefore didn't like the show. This show honestly made me wonder if it was targeted at girls due to the number of dick shots.
Enjoyment 3: This is what dropped my rating. A dick on my screen is a turn off. This show has a dick on the screen at least as much as it has a naked part of a woman on screen. I rarely got the desire to fap and,
...
when I did get the desire, they quickly threw in a closeup on the guy's dick to kill my boner.
Story 5: It is said that there is a battle going on, but that can be ignored. Episode 1 features a guy and his girlfriend who acts like a sadist but wants to be dominated. Episode 2 features the same guy, but this time with his lustful sister who talks quickly and often. the closest thing this show has to a story is demonstrating the girls' personalities.
Art 8: I felt this was better then most hentai. For instance, the censor was more accurately formed to the necessary parts, the skin was smooth, and nothing stood out as bad art.
Sound 7: The voice actors were good. However, the girls were given extensive lines during the sex which meant there was more of them talking than them moaning. The girls also matched the scene which led to a girl with her mouth covered having a muffled voice.
Character 8: The guy was unremarkable; his soul purpose was to have a hard on and accept sex. Girl A was bipolar in whether she wanted to be dominant or submissive. Girl B was more of gag character in how much lust she has and how embarrassed she got over her brother's dick.
