Through the first two episodes it felt like it was going to turn out at least somewhat like Kuzu no Honkai, but as the serie progresses the quality gradually collapsed. Half way through the pace of the story becomes protracted, and emotional expressions flattens even some important details are honestly presented, I guess sticking to the manga original. Into the last few episodes the quality of the art collapsed as well, there were a few episodes when probably a third of an episode were taken up by panning of stationary frames like a slideshow. When it finally made its way into the 11th episode, the ... art just went to bits, when the silhouette of the characters occasionally deforms and lines coming out of places where they should not be.
Perhaps the most enjoyable bits are the first episodes and the opening music, other than that a mild dissappointment.

Having waited for the summer season to fully unfold before coming back to review Toibasho, this project can definitely hold its own as an original TV anime against its contemporaries (from 2017 season to S18, excluding continuing series or franchises). Sharing the label of Shoujo and nichijou genres which have been progressingly cliched since 2014, to produce a work that could rival greats such as K-ON is surely not easy. Quite a few examples in this genre after 2014 even suffer teathing quality issues that could really bug the picky consumers such as myself. But Toibasho have definitely surpassed the bar in term of basic ... quality, and the story is grabbing enough with the overflowing passion and intricate deliniation of interpersonal relationships so that character and plot does not feel flat at all.

Disclaimer: the moving and talking pictures have been my media of choice so I've never read the mangas of the Naruto franchise; also I wasn't able to bear with the anime adaptations of Naruto beyond the 200s eps when the pacing becomes way too sluggish (literally they could have fit 5 eps into 1); therefore I am looking at Boruto as a stand alone project within the franchise.

Boruto starts with a rather interesting theme in the storyline early on [SPOILER ALERT] about overcoming daddy issues, and the struggles of next-gens shinobi in a new era. But soon enough the series begins to display ... a number of signs commonly seen in super-long continuing series (longer than 1yr/50-60 eps): namely, unstable quality of art (which appeared rather early on in the teens and twenties, and got better recently); and sluggish progression of the plot (seen also around the 15-30 eps neighborhood, when every battle was treated to 3 whole episodes). Having examples such as Case Solved/Mei Tante Conan-kun, Yu Yu Hakusho, World Trigger (a particularly negative example) and etc. (what? One Piece? What's that?) in mind, Boruto have done a comendable job so far. But just like the latest Star Wars disappointing many fans of the originial five (or six), this new worldview of a peaceful world where every shinobi village are friends just feels off. And if it is other-wordly existence they are fighting now, shouldn't they need the United Federation of Planets and USS Enterprise instead of shinobi?

To begin with, the quality of the art and voice acting are not impressing, in fact quite mediocore. Also the development of the characters becomes flat and uninteresting as the series progresses.

The 1st half of the plot was somewhat interesting as there was a clear goal the girls were working towards, but their goal becomes unclear after they achieved their initial goals. With so many option for nichijou animes of better made quality, the reason to stick with Toji waned. Lastly, the battle scenes later on in the series demonstrated that they either don't have the budget and manpower to produce convincing cuts, ... or they just simply didn't want to put the effort in there, the latter is worse but I would like to assume the former. With so many nanovel and manga in fantasy and sci-fi genre including much beautiful battle scens (in the original media), the anime industry adapting these media is stretched thin. That being said, if you are going to put katana battle in the title, you should be prepared for high viewer expectation on the katana battle scenes.

I was staring at the new season TV simoucasts trying to decide what to watch with my brunch when a spontaneous "archealogical dig" led me to royal space force. finished to two hr movie in one sitting in awe, can only say that they dont make'em like this anymore. the art is of superb quality, the kind that appear in but a few cuts in todays commercial productions, and sustained throughout the work. the presentation of the story have room for improvement but i shallent complain. Also it is important to know that GAINAX may have been disbanded should RSF was a commercial success, and ... maybe iconical works such as EVA and Guren Laggan would not have existed. Ironical.
