The main characters are somewhat similar. The male lead and female lead have strange connections to each other. In MGX, Tsubaki and Urabe share each other thoughts by transferring saliva to one another, which is Mikoto's "ability." In Teiougaku, Moriguchi and Harunabara share images that Harunabara sees in her thoughts, when they come into contact with each other.

Both of the male leads are somewhat weak and their lives are changed once they have made a contract with the female leads. Onihime revolves around Oni's trying to eat the Setsuna's heart, while Resurrection revolves around a war between siblings for the throne.

Both guys were living their lives as they were until they found out they were fathers to their daughters. My Girl revolves around Kazama finding out his ex-love had died and she left him a daughter which he did not know of. While Hotman, is about a man who had a troubled life in his younger days without caring about the consequences, left him with a baby with a skin disease. Both men carefully change their ways for their daughters as single fathers (even though in Hotman, the father has his siblings).
