TLDR: I will pick this webtoon up again bc of the animated show! Art 8/10, Animation 7/10, Story 7/10, Characters 8/10, Sound 7/10!
So:
1) I never finished the webtoon bc (contrary to the anime) it is so deep and dark. Also bulying is kinda a trigger for me so that might be why. But I'm gonna resume it now bc the animated show ver was actually quite good! 💗
2) I don't like comparing it to anime bc anime is a long standing industry which has very high standards. It was good, let's just say that.
3) Even the voices fit, so I don't get why sm ppl
...
are watching in Japanese bruh, it's made and set in Korea 🤩
4) The characters and emotional scenes were really touching and compelling too!
I will say tho:
1) the opening dances was a little kpopy to me and while the song was from ateez (a kpop band) which as an anime and k music fan i kinda hated oof, plus the show feels a bit kdramay compared to the original comic
2) the structure of the anime and the season finale was not great. I felt like they relied to heavily on the webtoon and not on that this is a show and needs some kind of climax and build-up.
3) i know there must be a season two bc there was not as much character growth as I had hoped there would be
4) my pet peeve is when people sing out loud and it's already mixed with the music and they did that 💀
But overall, good show! The first ever Korean animated show I've seen and a job well done. Hopefully, the solo levelling one is better tho...😬

TLDR: Like arcane or the recent tekken animation - fanservice artwork, animation and choreography, stunning soundtracks, mid to bad story telling (feel free to fight me on this comparison lmao)
I don't want to say much, but it's not worth watching really :/
I didn't want to know anything before the film, so I went in not knowing that is was a musical. That being said, the moment the first song played, I accepted it and tried to watch the film in a normal way but I couldn't. The story was all over the place. It was not compelling, barely related to shanks. It was an action
...
fanservicy, orgasmic music mess.
Art/Animation - 9/10 (for the most part it was beautiful looking and animated)
Sound - 10/10 (sounded more like a concert, oh boy the music was loud!...I will be downloading the OSTs)
Characters - 5/10 (talking about movie-only characters. she was mid, her caretaker was mid too)
Plot/Overall cohesiveness - 0/10 (it just had no flow. the only thing that flowed was the action. the pacing and feel of it was so weird, it didn't feel like a movie. it felt like a school project writing-wise. also, as many have said, WHERE WAS SHANKS I WANTED MORE SHANKS)

TLDR: As an anime, it's a 7 max. As a game adaptation, it's a 7.5-8 (some spoilers ahead!)
So, I haven't played the game yet (I will soon now that I've finished the anime), but IMO this anime did a lot of things right, but also a lot of things wrong. Key: * = highlights (good or bad)
Positives:
1) Story - Interesting overarching story which is tied together nicely at the end
2) Art* - I really like the character designs
...
3) Animation - No issues
4) Voice acting - Unique voices, very distinct and all
5) Music* - OSTs are good and the opening was god-tier
6) MC - Different, she had minimal reactions and went along with everything but I honestly could attribute it to her personality being like that and I appreciated the difference from an overly blushy or lewd female lead
7) Love interests* - They all have very different stories, I found them all unique because of the characters and the depth
8) Side characters - Nice and helped create a sense of consistency without them losing their role as side charas
9) Game - Game-like feel, clearly every love interest is supposed to be a different route which explains why it doesn't overlap
Negatives:
1) Story* - A little ambitious. The idea was nice, but there are plotholes, like how do the fairies exist? Wy was Ukyo so important to the fairy god? The whole explanation for her moving worlds was good, but why did she always have a different boyfriend? That wasn't explained either? And I'm guessing that Ukyo and MC loved each other in the first life? Otherwise, his affection (to the point that he endured all that for her) is a lil creepy
2) Art - The rest of the art isn't anything special (IN THE CONTEXT OF ANIME BC ANIME STANDARDS ARE TOO HIGH)
3) Animation - Not anything to write home about
4) Voice acting* - Unique voices can get rly annoying and often rubbed me the wrong way in the beginning
5) Music - Tried to be sentimental near the end, but I felt nothing lol
6) MC* - She was so fucking bland, as in she made barely any decisions for herself, had minimal reactions and showed none of her potential trauma. And when she made stupid choices (like forgive Toma, are we kidding?? 🤡) I wanted to kill her myself
7) Love interests* - Most of their stories, (Except for Kento) all have some dark aspects to them that are not resolved in any way (that i wished were bc they were interesting. Ikki and Toma's stories are very complex and both of them are trash for letting a) have a fan club? let them assault and abuse someone (let alone his /girlfriend/) while breaking up with people after a few months bc that's what ur exes did b) let your protectiveness get so extreme that you DRUG YOUR CHILDHOOD FRIEND AND THE PERSON YOU'RE IN LOVE WITH and LOCK HER IN A CAGE (ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU KNOW SHE WON'T FEEL ABLE TO RESIST) ???? Yh I still don't understand where the player in the game or the MC would forgive either of them. Listen, I feel sorry for them, but put them under surveillance, something's not right with their heads
8) Side characters - They were never there to help her or get close to her, I think she needed more friends that weren't just Orion or her love interests
9) Game* - The flow of this anime was not present, because they were trying to reflect the game
Overall: All in all, it's not that bad, it's actually good if you bear these things in mind ^ and watch it like it's a game adaptation, bc that's what it is ;P

TLDR: 7/10. A good movie. The way that the semi-last scene was written was quite uncomfortable, however, I disagree with the other reviewers and think that it wasn't as detrimental to the quality of the movie as they are suggesting.
[Story]
The story was simple and cute with an interesting dynamic. I learnt a bit more about news reporters and stop motion and it was an easy watch.
[Art]
I liked the way the art was. Also simple but cute. No yaoi hands or chins and pretty eyes.
[Sound]
Meh, could've been better but it's just a romance anime so it's fine.
...
[Character]
While the MC and main love interest didn't seem to have any friends lol, their personalities were both sweet in their own ways. I would've loved a deeper delve into it but that might not have suited the vibe of the movie so idm not knowing more :)
[Enjoyment]
I found myself laughing at the tropes that I saw. I guess as someone who has seen/read a fair amount of bl I'm used to them and worse so this just kind of felt innocently thoughtless. The only potentially 'damaging' aspect of this movie was the semi-last scene where they (spoilers) had sex.
Now I personally find it very very annoying when writers needlessly do this. I would have much preferred if they both consented and instead of showing him literally saying 'no', show him saying 'yes' if you know what I mean. Playing devil's advacate, I could say that it's in Kei's character to be a little tsundere and not be honest with what he wants when it comes to romance at least and that's why they still had sex, but I could ALSO say that Tsuzuki seems to be the type of guy who would listen when someone says no with how caring he was shown to be.
This is a problem with bl, but also romance fiction in general. I love it when the more submissive person in the relationship is still a person and consents and enjoys it. Roleplay is different (the rape fantasy) compared to when characters are explicitly rejecting the proposal but it happens anyway. I don't care about this shit in hentai but writers...when we've read/watched about their damn relationship and root for them, don't expect it not to annoy us when you make poor writing decisions.
...that said, I don't think it took much away from the story. Yes it's a, frankly, toxic trope that we would do 10298% better without but what if Kei actually wanted it? What if they had a good time and later discussed consenting better? I, personally, can sort of move on from it and ignore it in a sense as another bad (bad bad) trope and still see the movie as a good watch. I do respect you if you can't though.
[Overall]
I'd recommend watching it. It is not as bad as these reviews are making it out to be, I've seen much much worse which isn't to say it's flawless, but come on...
If you like bl, try it out.

So I watched the original series a few years ago and dropped it midway. I recently decided to rewatch it and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as bad as I remembered it (it's just that the middle got a little lost). On the same day that I finished it, I decided to watch this special and as you can tell from my score, I was not impressed.
[Why?]
As a girl, it's hard for me to fully understand this trope in anime for guys to be obsessed with girls breasts and creeping around to see them naked. I won't lie, moments of this special were amusing,
...
yet I felt like this was the one part of the series that I was happy we moved passed and am mildly irritated that they decided to put emphasis onto it in a special. I was looking forward to a little more character development, but I guess I'll have to go read the manga for that.
[Overall? or TLDR]
Disappointing, probably hilarious to you if you are a Japanese guy.

TLDR: It's enjoyable, but it loses it's charm halfway through.
I liked this show, it's good. But that's the issue, it's just...good.
Violet Evergarden (the show and character) almost couldn't envoke emotion out of me for longer than half an episode, leaving me sort of disconnected from the series at times. It's quite hard to explain, but the story kept dipping between being intriguing and then a little boring.
The story is interesting, the art (2d and 3d) is beautiful, and the songs were good. But none of the characters, despite having their own little arcs, just didn't leave a significant mark on my mind or heart. None
...
of the characters were developed to a good enough extent, in my opinion.
This show is close to being mediocre, but something about the realness of some of the diologue and interactions between people makes it a 7 for me, and not a 6 or below.
Overall, I'd recommend watching it, but don't expect too much out of this show.

I watched this on my birthday yesterday (17th June) with my parents and brother and had obviously been expected great things from it only to be disappointed. I can't remeber where I was recommended to watch this movie, nonetheless, I was excited to be blown away only to finish feeling meh afterwards.
I'll keep it brief with minimal spoilers.
[Story]
> The story was a good premise, immortal beings, war and family. Yet, the lack of storytelling or focus on anything left me feeling empty with no understanding of why I was even watching this. It just didn't have anything worth rewatching, the plot points were nothing special
...
but also not explained properly. There was a severe lack of narrative and direction that I simply didn't like.
[Art & Sound]
> I had no issues with the art or the sound, maybe the character design could have been improved but it was an interesting style.
[Characters]
> They weren't bad but I didn't connect with any of them really so it was hard to root for them.
[Enjoyment]
> As you can tell, I didn't enjoy it but it wasn't terrible. It just didn't provoke much emotion or interest in me after a while. I feel like if they halved the time, it would've been better.
[Overall]
> Wouldn't watch it again or recommend it to someone else. Sort of surprised that this is the same studio that made Angel Beats.

As I say in my review of season 1, https://myanimelist.net/anime/25013/Akatsuki_no_Yona/reviews, I am not the biggest fan of this show as a whole. However, the side characters, side stories and backstories have really prevailed in these OVAs.
I argue that Akatsuki no Yona may be a better anime if you simply watched the backstories and side stories. For some reason, Hak, the dragons and Yun are so interesting in comparison to the confusing and half-decent main plot and main character. So whenever they introduced a dragon, I would always be happy to learn about them (which I can't say is how I feel about all anime backstories).
Needless
...
to say, I have a particular love for how they tell the dragons stories. OVA 2-3 particularly shine in this. I felt so much for Zeno and I felt so intrigued by the tale of the old dragons that I sort of wished the initial anime was based in his perspective. There was pain, mystery, growth, loss and hope all in a collection of around 40 minutes. I totally recommend watching these OVAs!

This will probably be the shortest review I will ever make.
I watched both season 1 and 2. I liked it, it did make me want to watch more because I wanted to know when and how they would get together, but honestly....
The only other romance I've fully watched it Ore Monogatari. Everyone tells me that this was not what most romances are like, but thanks to this anime, I'm now hesitant to try them out.
Here's the best way to summarise Kimi ni Todoke: a romance anime with too much slow burn and little movement...it is cute, but the slow burn is done in a way
...
that burns for too long, in my opinion. I kinda hate and love it as the same time lol

I want to write a short review for this anime as I am sad to see it's rated below a seven on here.
[Why am I rating it an 7?]
TRUST ME when I say that I am not a fan of overwritten jokes about perverts or harems or things of that nature. I really am not, I tend to avoid animes which make dumb jokes about women (this might have to do with the fact that I am a woman and it irritates me). BUT this anime has captured my humour and interest very well. It was short, snappy and amusing to watch. It didn't
...
take itself too seriously and aimed to make fun of itself and it's characters. I will admit that although the premise is unique, the jokes are not entirely that, YET the writing entertained me to no end.
It felt fresh to me, especially as the main character wasn't a teenage boy for once.
[Conclusion]
I think this anime is misunderstood.
