Shugo Chara! is the first anime series I've watched, and it's also one of my favourites. Despite having similar elements to other magical girl stories, it's unique concept makes it stand out from the rest.
Story: 9/10
The story of Shugo Chara! is compelling, with plenty of exciting moments. There aren't any plot twists as far as I can remember, but the plot is still rather enjoyable. There is quite a lot of filler to help us connect with the characters, but it still seems to move at a reasonable pace.
Art: 8/10
The art is reasonably good, with some nice character designs. There are lots of girly shimmers
...
and sparkles, which is typical in magical girl anime.
Sound: 8/10
The soundtrack for Shugo Chara! is really good; the theme songs are catchy, and the songs that Utau sings are also really good. The voice acting is rather good too.
Character: 9/10
There weren't really any characters that annoyed me in Shugo Chara! I could easily sympathise with them all- even the villains had their moments. Amu is a strong heroine, with an interesting personality, and anyone can relate to her struggle for indentity. Her never-give-up attitude also makes her a good role model.
Enjoyment: 8/10
The great storyline and characters make this anime a joy to watch. There are also a few humourous moments.
Overall: 9/10
This is one of the best magical girl animes out there; a good moral, solid characters and a great storyline. Highly recommended.

Hanamaru Kinderagarten is one of the cutest TV shows I've ever seen. And that's the reason I love watching it so much. It's also quite funny too.
Story: 6/10
There is no overall plot in Hanamaru Kindergarten, but the little individual stories are quite good. There is no particuarly clever storytelling, but it's not bad.
Art: 8/10
The artwork is bright and childish to suit the setting, and the children in the kindergarten look adorable. Not amazing, but still very nice.
Sound: 7/10
The music is fairly good, and suits the playful mood, though I didn't find any of it particuarly great. The voice acting is good- the children sound
...
really cute, especially Anzu.
Character: 7/10
I didn't really find any of the personalities very convincing; some of the kindergartners seemed to have unrealistic personalities (eg: the child genius, Hiigari, seemed a bit too clever). But to be honest, I am a bity fussy when it comes to characters. Design-wise, the characters look cute.
Enjoyment: 8/10
There are some funny moments throughout the anime, and the cute kids give it a happy, playful vibe. Though I didn't really enjoy the side-plot of the unrequited love between two of the kindergarten staff, as it seemed rather predictable.
Overall: 8/10
An entertaining anime that is sure to make you smile. But if you're not a fan of the cute and cuddly, it's best to give it a miss.

When I first read Yotsabato!, I expected it to just be an innocent little kids' manga, with some childish jokes thrown in. I was wrong. It's actually possibly one of the funniest mangas I've ever read.
Story: 6/10
If you're looking for a great story, sorry, Yotsubato! is not the place to go. It's got an episodic storyline, with no proper plot, but I guess that's just what you'd expect from a comedy. There is the mystery of Yotsba's origins (she's adopted), but not much attention is drawn to that.
Art: 8/10
The art has a similar feel to a Disney movie; the characters are drawn simply, but look
...
polished, and the scenery perfectly captures city life.
Character: 8/10
The characters all have their own personalities and quirks. Most of them, particuarly Yotsuba, look rather cute.
Enjoyment: 9/10
This manga is actually pretty funny. If you don't mind mostly all-age humour, you will probably enjoy this manga. I was also quite charmed by Yotsuba's adorable personality.
Overall: 8/10
Nice art, great humour and sweet characters. A great slice-of-life manga.

This is my first review on MyAnimeList.net, so I apologise in adavance if I don't structure this review very well.
I picked up Magic Knight Rayearth in a bookshop for £15. Having come across a few CLAMP mangas before, I was rather intrigued. Was it worth the buy? Yes, it was.
Story: 8/10
For fantasy fans, the storyline may seem like something that's been done before. But despite this, the plot is gripping and fast-paced, yet there are also some more emotional moments. And the ending? It really isn't what you would expect. But wait, I've said too much.
Art: 9/10
The best thing about this manga, in my opinion,
...
is the art. It's so detailed and every panel just looks gorgeous. The coloured artwork looks amazing too. If you're someone who doesn't really like a lot of screentone, though, you probably won't like the art as much.
Character: 7/10
I really felt for the characters, particuarly in the more emotional moments. However, they all look rather similar- you can only really tell them apart by their hairstyles and clothes. Plus, their personalities weren't that convincing to me for some reason. But that's probably just me being picky.
Enjoyment: 8/10
The stunning artwork and the gripping storyline made me enjoy this manga a lot, though I didn't really laugh out loud at the funny bits. Guess it just wasn't my kind of humour.
Overall: 9/10
If you don't mind overused plot aspects, a bit of blood and lots of screentone, you'll enjoy this manga a lot. A fun and thrilling adventure for all ages.
