So to clear out I'm a manga reader and I have watched 3 eps already so here's my quick review:
- The plot isn't as expected as everyone usually say. This show fills with a lot of myths, legends and supernatural stuffs as the extra material in order to make the story better. Although fan service is really a big problem of this show (seriously, you will see at least 3 or 4 scenes featuring girls with underwear for the next few eps istg), it's still quite worth it to try if you are a kind of person who likes to watch those harems "feels like
...
Gotoubun".
- This story will introduce more girls, which is quite annoying to me.
- And ofc, because it's Gotoubun-like harem, we will have the wedding scene at the end. And for me, it's much more likely for the main protagonist to marry those 3 girls rather than choosing the best of them. I swear, I don't want to believe this, but I have to admit this after all.
Speaking of anime, I would say that it's good until now. The anime is doing well as a typical harem with a "predictable ending" (if we watch this kind of anime, it's better to enjoy the inner-plot rather than just thinking the whole plot "the same as others"). Though you might have given up watching this anime after seeing those beginning eps, you could try to enjoy your time with the few next eps as the story continues it gets much more interesting.
Overall, I think that "maybe" you should try to watch it. But be aware that as the story goes on, it will get attempts featuring some kind of fancy stuffs, so it's not that boring after all.

Trash anime, but that's the thing made it interesting.
Jokes, no funny at all. Boring, but brainrot. And that made me "laugh", so hard.
I laughed because of how brainrot this story is, and who's ever created it (Oshioshio), absolutely a legend. A LEGEND OF EXTREME BRAINROT.
Characters, they all trash. A yankee girl who's hidden in the "good girl" identity, a shika girl with weird shikas follows her, a girl who obsesses with shika girl and rice (why rice? well maybe i'm overthinking it but for me personally that's a good "coincidence" joke), and finally, a yandere girl who obsessed with her sister who is a "tiger"
...
(tora) or yankee girl. All of the characters are made to the EXTREME BRAINROT and THE MOST STUPID OF ALL THE STUPID characters ever created in the universe (they are designed to be stupid, because pay attention to the "shika" (deer) and "baka" (stupid), we have the "ka" which is not homonym, it really means "deer", and not because "deer" is a homonym of "dear", that's coincidence). As you can see, every single jokes, every single layers of "nonsense humor" and specially, the extra layer of brainrot events, first slow-mo animation, "shika shika" when something "shocking happened", unique and dumb protagonist with a normal-but-not-so-normal protagonist, crazy supporting characters made the world of Oshioshio even "weirder", but somehow made it "normalized" and Torako and us - suddenly became the "weirdos" one, (also huge credit for the best narrative ever and his nonsense mindset). It's dumb, but it's clueless. It's boring, but it's weird. It's bad, but it's unique. A fight between tigers and deers, with the battlefield of Hino Minami High School and Deer's Club, the dead place is Nara Park, in the world which deers are basically everywhere, heck, even SSN (Shika Shika Network) exists! That's how brainrot this story is, and believe me, once you watch it, you need to make yourself dumb, then enjoy probably the dumbest and most trash anime of all time, and it was worth it.
Art, nah Wit just cooked it! Complete and absolute brainrot the content, now come with the most iconic "dude seriously 10-HOUR LOOP FOR THE "SHIKANOKO NOKONOKO KOSHITANTAN" for a random dancing girl!!????" and the shikairo OP wth the EP looks like a commercial for the Nara and the Deer's Crackers. Nah seriously HOW BRAINROT CAN THIS SERIES BE?????? Not gonna lie, I think one of the attributes making this anime sooooooooooooooooooo brainrot is not only the songs, but the art and soundtracks, especially the slow-mo and "shikaaa SHIKAAAA" sounds, also recently they made a song for the shika girl too. SERIOUSLY WTF?
Ok maybe I made it too emotional, but to summarize, this is THE CLASSIC MASTERPIECE OF COMPLETELY BRAINROT. When watching it, you are surely, a dumbass. You are lost, and after watching this, you'll realize that this is worthless at the first start, but the story of it show you how brainrot can human brain be. Probably the dumbest anime that I have ever seen, but to be honest, this story achieves its goal - to become one of the dumbest animes of all time.
Worth it, after all? Yes, really. Especially if someday you don't wanna be a smart-mature guy or something.
Enjoyed? Absolutely! Feel like you re-become a caveman and isekai to this modern world.
Recommended? Yes, especially for shika addictors.
For the last words, let me say it again: Trash, boring, weird, yes, but that's the reason why this anime is the most unique anime of this Summer 2024 season. And it has succeeded to become the dumbest anime that me, and maybe you, have ever watched. Crazy, but after all, it's a good anime.

After the success of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, we have this. If you already love that series before, or you just want to enjoy some of the animes in this Summer 2024 or want to find a new anime to watch, this is absolutely for you.
Art: 9.5/10
Art, one word, beautiful. Just beautiful. Especially for the fighting scenes, it's just so spectacular and so smooth. Moreover, the character's designs are colorful, especially when the anime adds some more spices to the main protagonist with his imaginary wings, or the colors in the fighting scenes to show how much he enjoys in the fight or in escaping from
...
the death, even in his eyes are just beautifully aesthetic. But that doesn't mean other supporting characters are not well-done as well. They are just really beautiful too. With the mix of traditional art attributes and modern art attributes to the story, also some of the nature sceneries are just so realistic, I have to say it's just so good. I truthfully appreciate the hard work from CloverWorks, they just never lets us down, and it makes me feel so satisfied to watch.
Plot, storytelling: 8/10
The plot in this story from now (ep3) is rather quite simple and simply still don't have too much development like plot twists, characters' developments, or anything like that. I haven't read the original work yet, but from my little experience to the story right now, I can confirm to say that this story will be very good and promising. It's fresh, no (probably) fan services, and it's simple yet the storytelling makes me want to watch it more. Using every single benefits from the beautiful art, plus the interesting ability of the protagonist (which is hide-and-seek) and the guide Suwa Yorishige, the storytelling just went not so quickly, but it can be easily stick into one's head with the symbolic images and animations. Although the anime already gave us that he - the main Houjou Tokiyuki - will be the guy who changed Japan one day, it's still a little bit interesting to see how this can happen, and because the characters in this series and also all the upcoming plot and twists are very promising, I guess it's also worth a try for me (and maybe you) to continue following the series until now.
Characters: 8.5/10
Not bad. Currently the character's development that I like the most is definitely the main protagonist, Houjou Tokiyuki (of course since the first and second episode really focus on him, and the story itself did a very good job on that). He's not too serious, but also not too playful. He still doesn't have a real goal and still doesn't know what to do, but he knows he loves Kamakura and because of his love, one day he will become the guy who change the whole Japan. Gotta say, I do really like this way of developing the character, because it gives me the feeling that he's really special.
Also, we should talk about the guide Suwa Yorishige. A typical smart guy but extremely playful in most of kinds of stories. But unlike most other characters, he has special ability, which also makes him claim himself "A god". Also, he has the kind of face that makes me feel like Eiko in Dark Gathering *(ecchi), and honestly although I don't really like it, I think someone who has that face will be pretty dangerous, and therefore I assume he is, so that's why I has an unsure belief that he will be also the big man of the whole series (:))))
Overall, I think this is a worth choice to enjoy this season. For me, I do enjoy it. The story itself is just very interesting and promising, so that's why I don't get why this anime isn't that popular comparing to Roshidere and Oshi no Ko SS2, despite of the fact that this story is much more well-made and beautiful. For scoring, I would say it will be a solid 8.5/10.

Not gonna sure if this is a popular opinion, but I think the anime adaptation of this series is not as good as I expected it would be.
Ofc I don't really judge about the anime too much, you cannot expect an anime to match what you would expect from the original series. But overall, as a fan of the series for a long time, I'm quite disappointed about this anime this season.
I don't know why people love it so much, it's clearly overrated. The character development is poor. The plot is not interesting at all. I mean, the flashback of Alya - which by the
...
way is the best and the only moment that keeps me following this series until now - is the most disappointing part of all time. Ep3 was so raw, and I can feel, yeah ofc, nothing after that. No clear frustration, even the beautiful and candy art - which btw is one of the advantages of Doga Kobo - cannot hide the fact that that moment was just gone through so quickly, and it just feels like Alya is a weak girl who cannot even collab with others and just want to work alone, then a guy went and saved her, that's it, no such feelings like empathy or understanding her poor situation. I know, we cannot expect too much for a light romance, but if you have read the manga and loved it like me (I claimed it was, not the best, but very good series), this adaptation was rather very disappointing.
I just thought about that as a manga reader and also light novel reader for this series, and I think, although this is just a normal romance, Roshidere does have its uniqueness, not only the Russian thing, but also a lot of great stuff. Ofc, I do know Doga Kobo did a pretty good job, and I assume if I was the person who first watched this anime, like most of you, maybe I would like it as much as I did when I first read the first chapter of the manga. However, I AM a manga reader, so that's why for me, the anime adaptation is "disappointing", not "bad". I still love it, I still think it's a good anime, but honestly, if you asked me whether I really liked it, I would prefer to say "no". It's not the best anime I have watched this season, but it's not the worst of all time.
Overall, I would say this anime is a pretty good light "romcom" anime. If we compare to other animes in the same genre, maybe it's not the best (I would say, it's better that the Tenshi anime but worse than Bokuyabai, you can compare it to other animes if you want to) but it's enough good for you to enjoy this season. That's why I do understand why it's so popular until now with a pretty high rank in MAL. But for me, personally, for the romcom genre, I would give a solid 7 to 8, ofc it would be much more worse in the general scale, but I think it's fine for me to rank it like that. And because the original series was pretty good, I would prefer to give it an 8.
Bonus about the Russian thing: for those who know or don't know, Alya is dubbed (in Japanese) by Sumire Uesaka. She was learning Russian at the Sophia University, so that's why she is the seiyuu for the main protagonist Alya (glad she is). I mean, despite a lot of people saying that Alya's Russian is just so Japanese, or weird, or mispronounced, I think, vice versa, it's pretty good. Not close to native enough, for sure, but I did learn some basic Russian before so I know that her accent is acceptable, especially for a Japanese seiyuu. Or maybe we can assume that it's the Vladivostok accent or something (not sure about that).

Nothing so special about this manga. And maybe somehow you could choose to read or not, but I guess the possibility of not reading this manga is higher than reading it.
In general, I gotta say this manga is a solid 6.5/10, but if you want to be more critical, 5.5/10. Here are some of my gentle comments about Takamori-kun wo Damarasetai:
- Art: 6.5/10, nothing really shocking. It's normal, or not to be so plain. Both the mains are not so "beautiful" as I would expect. Anyway the art is not really a major thing to be considered, so...
- Plot: 7.5/10, quite interesting. There has
...
been a lot of mangas following the path of "someone can read their mind and somehting unexpected happen", like Spy x Family for instance, or some weird mangas I read some months ago about wife can read husband's mind or main reads tsundere mind. But to be honest, this kind of "theme" like this hasn't been really that popular yet, so that's why it's interesting somehow for me to see them, for the curiosity.
- Storytelling: 5.5/10, quite boring. I didn't expect too much, and I was right. Slow development, but the way the mangaka describes it isn't that interesting even a bit for me. No big shocking deal somehow, all the things I could guess from the start. I don't say that other mangas in this type are boring, too, but this manga really lets me feel down, as it's too repetitive, I guess I have to wait until 20th~30th chapters are published.
- Enjoyment: 6/10, still decent to enjoy.
- Side stuff (fan service, side characters, imouto development, etc.): not yet, so I'm not judging here.
( +1 for the imouto btw )
After all I can't judge too much, but for now, it's quite solid for me that I would give this manga a 6.5/10. It's fine, after all, and it should be in your own list (though I guess you wouldn't appreciate it too much)

Just pick up the story on the way to the manga store near my house and read some of the first chapters, I couldn't take it off and it was definitely worth it!
Beautiful plot, and also interesting flashbacks. The main character design are pretty cute, a little bit loli-style I supposed. But no matter what, the mangaka has done a great job when (s)he designed such an interesting story between a ghost and a real person, also with romantic relationship development and as always, funny details that you couldn't take your eyes out.
Honestly after a quick shot of reading this manga, I thought
...
finally I could read such an enjoyable manga after a long time. If you first see the manga in a store, or whatever place you have been, and you are not quite sure if you should read it or not, don't hesitate, because it's definitely worth a try!

I first read this manga because of the recommendation by Kito Senpai, honestly all of his manga recommendations for this kind of genre really let me feel undoubtedly fine and I could enjoy it as a "minor" story along with some of other mangas or animes. My first impression was rather not expecting too much about this manga, I thought it was just a normal harem and romcom manga that other mangas such as the Gotoubun no Hanayome or Bokuyaiba can do much better, and indeed, it is. But that doesn't mean this is a bad manga, if you want
...
to have it a try, I will definitely recommend you to do that. Here are some reasons that can, hopefully help you take this manga for the next shot:
- Storytelling, plot: 7/10, decent. Although with the new (or not new) theme which is mainly about broadcasting and voice-needing careers, all the concepts are the same, no shocking twists, no complicated flashbacks or incomprehensible details, but again the plot is predictable but also not so boring. The story is quite like Gotoubun somehow in my opinion, but it has a lot of interesting things following up as well.
- Characters: 7.5/10, quite solid. All the thing that you would expect: waifus, tsunderes, danderes, etc. And also harem with a pretty cool protagonist. I have a good impression on his characteristics actually, quite smart, conscientious towards the dream and always want to help all the girls be better (at least he has a brain). And the most interesting part of this story is "all the girls are the same like the one that I've always wanted to meet again", though we could guess the destined girl could be the first girl he met :)).
- Art: 8.5/10, good. It's clear for me to say that the art is better than some of the good mangas in this genre, though not the best ofc. The girls are way more cuter, and the main, very generously I'll say he's enough, just normal. In general, the art gives a pretty sweet vibe, much sweeter than Roshidere but also not too sweet to enjoy all along.
In conclusion, I gotta say one thing: this manga really has a strong influence from Gotoubun no Hanayome, but it doesn't mean this manga is so boring. In fact, if you want to follow a new flavor of romcom or harem (because there are a lot of flavors out there that you can choose), this manga could definitely be on your list. It's not the best manga, but it doesn't have a weird plot like the Medaka one. Definitely you need to read it.

Really a good anime to consider watching. Beautiful and peaceful storytelling, also the soundtrack and those classical pieces are really well done!
I mean, just talk about this kind of genre, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso makes you feel not only touching but also realize a lot about beautiful life and be optimistic. It's not just about complicated storyline that makes you feel overwhelmed, it's about the simple, elegant storyline but the feelings are very complicated to comprehend and at the end of the day, you'll understand why those feelings are existed.
For a good romance anime, this is beautiful and definitely should be one of
...
your note.
Also, the lie of along all the story is a beautiful lie, isn't it?
