I'm not sure what to say... I've been a fan of this show since the first minutes of the series but this season flat out doesn't make sense... I have to include spoilers to explain because the stupidity is potent. Everything that happens is oddly too convenient and I mean literally EVERYTHING. The main villain has an ability that makes every weapon he uses 100x stronger and a sword that allows him to go back in time... hence he is unbeatable until it turns out it was his plan along to create world peace for all and for his childhood friend(the president) ... to take the mantle... Fyodor.. antagonizer for three seasons meets his demise because one of the infinite tricks up his sleeve was conveniently the control chuuya... who we know dazai has a hard on for.. Atsushi the famous weretiger is useless again for the reason of... O wait yea just being useless... The entire agency gets carried by thats right you guessed it.. rampo.. who is a cool character but why is he the only one that ever does anything? This is a known fact among the world too so why does the hyped up unbeatable HUNTING DOGS group go after the useless members instead of the famed Rampo? I'll tell you why... CONVENIENCE. Some little girl is the key to releasing mind control of the entire world... You might think okay she must've had some cool ability.. The only ability she has is having flashbacks of her father calling her useless... I'm sorry but I'm at a loss. Season 4 set up the plot quite well, and had me thinking season 5 would be a collective effort to resolve the biggest threat yet... Instead it was a collective joke.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shita Season 2 or Waste of time season 2?

This show picks up where it left off, in the middle of rikka and yuuta's father-daughter esque relationship. Season 1 flashed moments of development that kept it watchable, but season 2 simply does not hold up.

Story: How many times can we fit the lines "fake mori summer", "synapse,break" and "dark flame master" into 12 episodes. The story beats you into a coma with repetitive one liners, increasingly unlikable characters, and cliches until the final credits roll. It's attempt to create a love triangle(within 3 dedicated episodes?) falls front on its face due to ... the fact that it has no lure, substance, or anything at all that a love triangle needs. Instead of adding another 8th grade syndrome screwed childhood friend into the mix, why not add a normal high school girl? She would not only be able to represent the ideals Yuuta had going into high school but also provide another perspective for the characters(in need of it obviously) and viewers. Instead, the audience is left with a poorly/barely even written love triangle that gives the audience no reason to ever believe that Yuuta will ever even consider leaving rikka for another chuunibyou girl. It's like wondering, should I trade my life in prison for 90 years of prison?

Characters: One of the worst if not the worst collection of characters I've ever encountered in a romcom. Maybe if this show took place in elementary school it'd be fitting but for a high school romcom it is mind boggling and mostly painful. Yuuta is still a father to his delusional 8 year old girlfriend rikka, dekomori only speaks the lines "master" and "fake mori summer", nibutani is a know-it-all with 0 credibility, and honestly Kumin is a walking mannequin. Nothing to see here, just a poor arrangement of characters that claim they're growing up, yet still use pacifiers and diapers.

Sound: Some okay Osts, forgettable op and ed.

Art: Wow! Something positive about the show! Great artwork all around as expected from Kyoto animation. I believe I watched a couple episodes at 480p, and it still looked great. Fight scenes were a notch above too. Brilliant work.

Overall: If you liked Chuunibyou season 1, I'd suggest staying clear of this one. It really makes you realize how delusional the characters in this universe are, and offers no development from the first season. Even if you have no expectations for this season, it's still a let down. That's a pretty big indicator of the nonsense this season is.

Saekano.. I can't say I had high hopes for season 2, but I was definitely hoping for at least an improvement from season 1. And boy was I disappointed. If anything it's a downgrade, which is frustrating considering so little romcoms get a season 2.

First off, the show picks up after the events of season 1 which, is fine and all until the events unfold and you realize there's no development of any of the characters.

Tomoya Aki- The same seemingly passionate yet also dense, boring, pet MC who continues to rely on girls who only want one thing from him: his c o c k.

Eriri ... Spencer Sawamura - The same overdramatic childhood friend who cries for her prince charming to worship and cater to only her...Despite not giving a hoot about his own aspirations.

Utaha Kasumigaoka- The same "older" character on this show who also doesn't care about the MC's aspirations and is only good for......fanservice?

AND the best girl on this show(not much of an accomplishment) Megumi Kato-
.............. not much to say about her, she's still the same emotionless 3rd choice who's only relevant when the other two girls aren't in the picture.

Season 2 is a repeat of season 1 which is a downgrade because it's like watching an already average TV show for the second time.. You can't help but notice all the bad and overdramatic/lackluster plotlines. Add that to increasingly unlikable characters, an unhealthy amount of fanservice, flat out wasted screentime, and a random/rushed plotline 9 episodes in and you'll come to this conclusion: Saekano season 2 is horrible. On a positive note, the art is done well so at least they didn't cut the budget for the one thing they had going for them. It's a shame that the art was wasted on such a dumpster of a show though.

In case you're looking for a summary of the plot it's as follows: Tomoya wants to complete a project. Needs the "prodigious minds" of his two waifus to do so. They each claim their own work is more important yet simultaneously cry and moan that the MC is essential to each of their well-beings and ALREADY successful careers(WAIFU GOALS RIGHT????). The MC being the dog he is then helps each one until they're satisfied(thus consequently neglecting his own work). After being satisfied, they both leave the MC in the dust suddenly for a once in a lifetime joint opportunity(funny way of saying thank you). Option # 3 says some words and is there for the MC. Happy reunion a couple days later. Tomoya smiles at the sight of his dream crushed by his two girlf--- frien---acquaintan---..masters. And they all live happily ever aft...Zzz............

Conclusion: 3/10
