I actually have mixed feelings about this manga but decided to write one anyway since this manga has been on my mind for years and I guess I just really need to say what I feel about this manga so I can let go. I might say some spoilers but this is really important.
Story: 8/10
The story is actually unique even though it's gender bender. From the summary, you can see it's about 5 boys who turns into girls when it rains. The flow of the story, the characters, the friendship... they're really good, it was very exciying to read, until the last few chapters anyway...
...
I'm gonna change my score to 6. Just for the last few chapters! Because it was really disappointing, I was expecting something more, but then that's just me, maybe others have different opinion.
Art: 9/10
Bikke's art is really heart warming and soft. I love it very much and the colors too from the cover. It gives life to the story more.
Characters: 9/10
I really love all the characters, they all have different personalities but they all make up for each other.
Enjoyment/Overall: 7/10
Honestly, I'd score this 10/10 but only until chapter 30 I guess. Cause I really enjoyed it but the ending felt so useless and shallow and I felt betrayed. Haa... it's like Bikke forced it to be a straight couple for all in the end, even though she added shounen ai and shoujo ai hints. Like what's the point of that?
I'm not saying this just because I love BL but I thought this manga will offer something more special, something more meaningful, that even if you are a boy or a girl, what matter most is the inside... the days you spent with that person and how they supported you. I'm dorm head/Hazuki shipper but it would been more realistic and more acceptable if Hazuki ended up with Touma, who has always been there for him from the beginning until the end. But in the end, Hazuki chose Asumi, who he barely spent time with. I don't think he really loves her either. So I'm still bitter over that lol. But anyway, it ended without any question left unanswered. I still had fun reading this until the middle and it was a good feeling so I can't completely dislike the manga.
If you're up for a slice of life manga with good friendship, then read this! The romance for others were good as well but just... don't expect any good romance for the main boy.

I really enjoyed this manga a lot (more than I expected). I stumbled upon this when I was looking for a manga like Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! and I'm really glad I discovered this one.
If you read Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! then you can say the story is kinda like that. Well, not really the same but more like the girl is in love with a dense guy. But this one, the girl is the "in denial" type. It was enjoyable cause it was funny to see the girl's struggles and being in denial that he's in love with the guy but keeps looking/chasing for him anyway
...
(she's the most popular girl in school btw).
The characters are likable too. The main guy, Kuzumi... I'm actually amazed that he barely said anything in the manga (I think he only spoke 3 times lol) but you will actually like him? And even though he is portrayed as short, boring and lame guy, he can actually look so cool at some point? And I'm really REALLY curious to know what he's really thinking (especially towards the girl). As for the girl, Erika, while she's really funny and cute, it's kinda frustrating sometimes when she's always denying that he likes him so yeah, sometimes I get irritated but not that much cause she's still funny.
I was torn between 8 and 9 for my overall but for now, 8, cause I've only read up to chapter 19. While it left me super hanging and wanted to read more, I feel like things will get more exciting and I hope it won't disappoint me cause so far, I really like it!

I've only read up to chapter 14 and I can say I really like it so far. The story is really funny, light and cute. I didn't read the summary when I read it so I had no idea what it was about. From the cover, I thought it's about a shy boy and an aggressive girl love story but I read the inner cover pages first and from there, I was able to tell that, "Ah, the one who looks like a guy is probably the girl and the one who looks like a girl is probably the guy" and I was right!
While
...
the idea is not that original, it still feels kind of unique and refreshing if I compare it to other shoujo manga so I really enjoyed it a lot.
The art is really beautiful too and the characters are likable (not that they've shown a lot of characters yet) but the main characters are really likable!!! The girl is just tomboyish and the guy likes to cross-dress as a hobby (it will be explained why he started to cross-dress in an extra chapter).
If you're up for a childhood friend and gender bender love story, then you should definitely try this out!

It's good to see a shoujo manga with a different theme and not the usual cliche setting like unpopular girl meets popular boy and they will fall in love. Though the story is not that unusual I guess. Ayakashi-themed manga.
It actually reminded me a bit of Kamisama Hajimemashita at first (probably cause of the cat/fox ears) though both have different plots anyway.
But as I read, it gets really interesting and intriguing. Really! Though I've only read 12 chapters so far but enough to piqued my interest anyway. It's cute, funny and a bit of mysterious. And since this is also supernatural/fantasy, I'm
...
expecting more things will happen.
And then the art. I'm usually picky when it comes to art but this manga's art is really gorgeous. Especially the boys lol.
It's a good read. I can't say that it's really one of my super duper fave manga (YET), but I'm really looking forward for more chapters. I bet this will become popular soon especially if it gets an anime adaptation.
If you enjoyed manga like Kamisama Hajimemashita, Watashi no Ookami-kun, Akaya Akashiya Ayakashi no, Natsume Yuujinchou, or any manga that have ayakashi theme on it, then you will enjoy this!

Story: 9/10
"Is it like Shingeki no Kyojin?" At first that was the first impression it gave me since I have this idea that Ghouls eat humans just like how Titans eat humans and I thought it would be just the same setting.
Well I guess they do both have the same theme of "eating humans" and "main protagonist turning into ghoul/titan" but Tokyo Ghoul is abit unique because it always makes me think "Do I side with the ghouls or with the humans?" and that's what I love about it.
You'll get what I mean when you start reading it.
Art: 8/10
I'm actually kind of torn between
...
7 and 8. One of the main reasons I didn't read this right away was because of the art. The art didn't appeal to me that much and the characters looks forgettable... at least that was what I thought before I read it. Don't be fooled by it!
The art looks "off" sometimes but along the way, you'll really start to appreciate it especially in later chapters (more precisely our main protagonist, Kaneki).
Characters: 9/10
Like I said, at first glance, the characters wouldn't appeal to you much but as you read it, you'll definitely love them. They're unpredictable and I love badass characters.
Usually in a manga, the main protagonist/hero would always have a goal like "I want to be the Pirate King!" or "I want to be the Hokage!" but Kaneki is nothing like that. He's unpredictable and since he was a human who turned into a ghoul, you wouldn't say he's really a "hero" but I still do think you will like him.
In short, I really love his character development (well not only him) but I love all the characters!
Enjoyment/Overall: 10/10 / 9/10
It's been a while since I got excited over a manga again that it only took me half a day to caught up to the latest English translation. I just couldn't stop thinking about it.
It's dark, deep, exciting, thrilling and it's NOT only about gory/bloody stuff. It's really enjoyable and at the same time always makes my heart beat faster because of the suspense.

Takarai Rihito-sensei is known for her beautiful art in various series especially Seven Days and eventually made her own manga, Hana Series (Hana no Mizo Shiru + Hana no Miyako de) and not only she make beautiful art but her story is absolutely lovely too.
Now she brought another unique and lovely piece, Ten Count.
Story: 9/10
The story is really interesting the first time I read it. A guy who has Mysophobia (fear of contamination and germs) met this other guy who coincidentally works at a psychiatry clinic and is now trying to cure his phobia.
Just thinking about their situation really makes me (super) curious on what
...
will happen or how their relationship will work because the "uke" is mysophobic (meaning he dislike being touched and thinks everything in the world is dirty) and since this is also a yaoi manga.
Art: 10/10
As usual, sensei's art is really absolutely stunning and gorgeous which make this manga more interesting.
Characters: 9/10
I think sensei really makes nice characters that suit each other. Just like Arikawa and Misaki of HanaMizo and now Kurose and Shirotani of Ten Count.
There is something about those two that makes me really love and support them both. (I guess that's what you call chemistry with each other?)
Though I sometimes don't get Kurose Riku. I can't grasp his whole personality yet but he looks like the "gentle seme" type for me but we will see...
Enjoyment/Overall: 10/10 / 9/10
I think this is the first time I encountered this kind of story (like you know, a mysophobic person... you can't really predict what will happen) so I'm really looking forward to it so much (since it's still on going).
The pace is kind of slow I guess so it's sometimes frustrating because I want to know Shirotani's past and what caused his phobia but I guess that's one of the good points of the manga. I don't want it to be rushed so I hope the quality will not drop!
Nevertheless, this is definitely a must-read!!

One word that could sum up Kyou no Kira-kun for me is... bittersweet.
Story: 8/10
I don't think the story is very common but it's not original either. I mean when you say very common shoujo, for me it's:
"Unpopular girl will fall in love with the most popular guy in school. Many things will happen like girl confessing to boy but will get rejected but in the end they will end up together... but another guy will appear."
Something like that. Well Kyou no Kira-kun still has the same theme of "unpopular girl" and "popular boy" but there's a catch. The boy is sick and has only a
...
year left to live. I also said it's not that original since I think I've read something like that before.
But what makes this manga special to me are the words/quotes/converstaion that were being used. It's really very touching and will hit you very hard in your heart. It made me cry a lot. And it feels like you could really learn a lot from this in real life... that time is really precious!
Art: 9/10
I do find the art really cute and refreshing too. It also brings out the beauty of the story especially the scenes that made me cry. They were beautiful.
Characters: 9/10
I don't have anything to say. I love the girl and boy protagonists a lot. I really think they suit each other a lot. Another reason I came to love this manga! Especially the boy, Kira. He's really so precious.
Enjoyment/Overall: 9/10
Wow I'm glad I read this manga. Though at first I was torn between "I shouldn't have read it" and "I'm glad I read it" but in the end, I'm really glad I did! Even though when I try to think what will happen to them in the future and it will make me cry, I still look forward to it! I really want to know what will happen regardless if it's a happy or sad ending.
But another good thing about this manga is even though it is "tragedy," it is still very CUTE and SWEET. While it made me cry a lot, it also made me smile a lot too. It's such a very touching and cute manga! It's really worth reading it!

What a hidden gem. Seriously. And it's kind of disappointing that AkaAka is not getting much attention. (I'm also upset with myself because I only recently got to know about this)
I stumbled upon this manga when I was looking for some BL Games (since this was actually based on the visual novel game and was in the BL category) but NO. It's NOT BL or Yaoi.
I love Ayakashi stories myself so when I found out about AkaAka, I started playing it right away! And then I discovered that it has a manga adaptation too! And one word.. WOW.
Story: 9/10
The story is about Yue, a boy
...
who descends from the mountain and sneaked out in order to go to the festival for the first time, together with his animal-like-protector friend, Kurogitsune. To Yue, every human looks exactly the same but he met these two mysterious high school boys who really piques his interest.
What are those two boys role's in Yue's life? Especially when the Mistress of the mountain ordered Yue to go to the human's town everyday and befriend those boys in order for Yue to prepare for his "meal".
Something like that. I actually love the story. I do think it's original and interesting. Some people said the game is BL but well... not really. But maybe if you squint hard enough, you'll find something.
Art: 9/10
The art is really great. Cute and detailed. But I think I still like the art of the game more. Though the Yue in manga is much cuter because I think he's much more expressive here.
Character: 10/10
I just love all the characters! I love how all characters actually have a "role" in the story. I think they are all well-organized and each character left an impression to me. They're really lovable, interesting and mysterious.. especially Yue. He's such a cutie patootie.
Enjoyment/Overall: 10/10 / 9/10
It was something different so I really enjoyed it! The plot is really interesting and it got me hooked! The manga is still on-going so I suggest to play the game after reading the manga (though of course it's in Japanese and unfortunately the game is not fully voiced but nevertheless, definitely worth playing! I'm not done yet though).
It kinda reminds me of Natsume Yuujinchou since at first glance, Yue looks like Natsume. But they're really different to each other. I mean the plot. The only same thing they have is the "Ayakashi" theme. I find Natsume Yuujinchou really soft and sweet and nothing too complicated while AkaAka is, well it's sweet and funny too but the plot is much more deep and intriguing.
(Don't get me wrong though! I love Natsume Yuujinchou myself too!)

At first Samurai Flamenco reminds me of Tiger & Bunny and decided to watch it but it was very different from what I expected. It's nothing compared to T&B because they don't really resemble each other, just the "Hero" part but nevertheless, it was still a good watch (at least for me).
Story: 7/10
Actually the first time I watched it.. I've only seen 2 episodes in a row and it was kind of interesting but I decided to put it on-hold NOT because I didn't like it, but because I wanted to wait for all episodes to be completed and probably because I'm the type of
...
person who's very lazy to watch anime (I prefer reading manga). Then the last episode came out a few days ago and I wasn't still in the mood to watch it to be honest but I saw a spoiler of the last episode which made me want to watch it right away.
The idea of the story wasn't really that bad.. the protagonist, Hazama Masayoshi, wanted to be a superhero (but he's just a normal human being) and to achieve that, he starts to solve small/petty crimes like lecturing people who smokes in a non-smoking area, people who jaywalk, people who doesn't throw their garbage on the right time, catching an umbrella-thief.. small crimes like that... it was kind of ridiculous at first because I really thought he's exaggerating. But then when he said that "even if the crime is really small, if no one's gonna stop them it will never stop", actually I thought he has a point and that made me think the story was kind of interesting. I really thought the story was only like that. Like he's just a modern wannabe-superhero in a super normal city.
But then the story drifted off from what I was expecting. I wouldn't say it was horrible but it did put me off at some point. Like... was that even necessary? It was ridiculous though I was still kind of amused. But I was really looking forward to that "scene" in the last episode so I continued watching it. I'm glad I did because it got better in later episodes.
Art: 7/10
I really like the character designs. Ikemen and cute characters but the quality wasn't that good. Like you'll see deform characters sometimes.
Sound: 9/10
One of the good things in Samumenco is the songs I guess. I really like the opening and ending songs. The BGM is nice too.
Character: 8/10
They were enjoyable characters I guess but my most favorite is Goto Hidenori. Especially when I learned what he had been through before. It made me cry actually since I'm a crybaby.
I'm a BL/Yaoi fan so one of the reasons why I watched it was because of Goto and Masayoshi. I really like them together. And aside from my fangirlness, the friendship that they have is something that I really like... I love their tandem!
Enjoyment/Overall: 7/10
My main motivation at first to watch the entire series was because of that "scene" in the last episode but I'm glad that it turned out to be nice overall aside from the ridiculous arc though.
I enjoyed it and made me laugh in some episodes. The BL and GL hints made it more interesting in my case. (Boys Love & Girls Love)

Honestly I'm not sure why this was categorized as shounen because for me I am considering this as shoujo manga.
One of the reasons why I was hesitating to read it at first because I thought it was a harem manga or something since I was focusing too much on the "shounen" part and I don't really read summary or synopsis so I really have no idea what's this manga all about.
Don't get me wrong, I love shounen manga myself but I love it more if the protagonist is male (I read anything btw. Be it shounen, shoujo, yaoi/BL, josei, seinen. As long as the story
...
and art piques my interest.) But nevertheless I tried reading this one day and WOAH.
Story: 9/10
Tbh I don't really see anything unique about the plot... just your typical high school romance story but for some reason I really love it. It's simple and nothing complicated and really cute and adorable! And what makes this manga super interesting is the humor! It was unbelievably funny.
Art: 10/10
The art is really good. Another reason what made me read this manga. It's beautiful, gorgeous, pretty, amazing.. I can't even describe the love I have for the art. And did I ever mention the male protagonist, Miyamura, is such a cutie?!
Characters: 10/10
The characters will make you love the manga entirely. Like I said, the story is just your typical high school romance stories but because of the characters, it exceeded my expectations of this manga. The female protagonist, Hori, that I thought will annoy me even before I read the manga is now one of my fave female characters! And of course, Miyamura, is one of my ideal shounen boyfriends. Just ugh. I love him.
Enjoyment/Overall: 10/10 / 9/10
I was actually torn between 9 & 10. I gave it 10 for enjoyment because I really did (super) enjoy it. It is something that I'm looking forward every update of the chapter.
And I gave it 9 for overall because I'm sure this can get even more better in later chapters (and I hope the quality of the story will not drop) so I'm really looking forward to it. That said, I think this manga has everything to offer if you're looking for something Boy x Girl romances... humor, interesting plot, beautiful art, lovable and unpredictable characters!
EDIT AS OF MAY 9 , 2018
I'm not gonna delete my previous review but I just had to add this after getting caught up with the lates chapters. Wow, happened to Hori? In my previous review, I said what I love about this are the characters but Hori's character development became so horrible. Just what happened?! She was one of my faves but she became so terrible. She became too violent it's not even funny anymore. She's being unreasonable and her jealousy is too extreme. She always hit Miyamura and even if it's for comedic purposes, I DON'T FIND THAT FUNNY AT ALL. I miss the old Horimiya :(
