Alright first a little introduction about our anime:
Satou Tatsuhiro, 22 years old, thinks that everything that happens around him is a conspiracy. He even figured out who is behind it all: The NHK, an evil secret company.
-now with this simple mind set, how does he think to move on with his life?
Well, he doesn't. But with the help of people around him, his life takes a giant leap and turn going crazy and wild. This is a great story of character development and change for the better. After starting the anime, i thought that it would go nowhere slow, but hell i was wrong, it
...
went somewhere. now that is for sure.
Story 10/10
SYNOPSIS:
"When you think anime, you think otaku. When you think otaku, you think people that dislike other people. Those people become hikikomori (people who shut themselves in)." So Satou manages to uncover the plot of The NHK (stands for Nihon Hikikomori Kyokai), after three years of shutting himself in (and rapidly approaching the fourth).
In reality, he is nothing more than a NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training), desperately in need of a cure from that "disease." He wants to break out from the curse, but going out and getting a job is frightening enough for him. That is until he gets selected for a "project"; it is a plan to help hikikomori like him in facing the reality of this world.
-so we now have a general knowledge of what the story brings. Now in depth analysis, i believe that the anime is divided into multiple stories/arc. And this stories/arcs are according to people our main character meet. Now all these mini / side arcs, would help in the build up of our main story/arc. NHK ni Youksos! is partly drama, partly romance, comedic, also a psychological thriller and part slice of life. All this genre are combined to make a mix of emotional rollercoaster of a ride in the anime.
Art 8/10
- It has originality(somewhat), there are times that it was great and times that it was annoying. The art could have been better, but for a psychological type of an anime, it was well done and good enough even, that is why i gave it an 8 = Very Good (according to MAL atleast). Art-wise, there isn’t a major problem, but the quality of it is pretty much inconsistent, whenever there’s a further view of the character, either the façade or the anatomy of the characters goes off.
Sound 8/10
-well i watched this in english dubbed (because i used my mobile phone and it was a pain to read subs using my phone). I guess the english dud did make a good impression on me about the anime, I will try to watch it in subs though when i get the time. I very much like the music, the opening and endings are very enjoyable and background music is very fitting and do not forget about puririn(haha). The sounds keeps up with the overall depressing tone of the series. If the music was inadequate the anime might have been a little different. (my opinion ofcourse).
Character 10/10
-There is no way in hell that you would dislike a single character in this anime.
That being said let us try to point out the main line up:
*Tatsuhiro Satou - Our Main Hero. The focus of the story, he starts out as an outcast, a person trapped in fear of the outside. He lives off his parents and he does not do anything to help himself. After a twist of faith, he meets a girl he never saw in the neighborhood before (because he locked himself in [LOL] ). He then tries to befriend said girl, and that is where the story of our anime starts.
*Nakahara, Misaki - Our Main Heroine. The girl meets boy (obviously she is the girl). After seeing Tatsuhiro Satou, she wanted to help him find the courage to go back to the outside world, or in other words change him for the better. Misaki is the type of person not to let anyone down, and she goes to alot of things and measures to help Satou be cured from being a recluse.
*Yamazaki, Kaoru - Our Main Hero's Best friend. Now this guy is a semi-recluse, not like Satou, Kaoru Yamazaki goes to school. This bestfriend also tries to help Satou, they both started a project together to help them achieve a certain goal in life. And to prove that they are not pure recluse who depends on others.
Enjoyment And Overall 10/10
-Why? Just because it was simple but very capturing. It got my attention through-out the whole 24 episodes. There is more to it than what is in the surface. It is not just about a hikikimori or an otaku. It has more to it than this. It was pleasing every way possible. (atleast to me). I enjoyed it(period).
To those of you who haven't watched it yet, please do try to find time to watch it. To those who Dropped this anime, or placed it On-Hold, Try to pick it up again and continue to watch. After that, then and only then, that you could criticize this anime. And for those who have finished watching this anime, please do tell me if i had said something wrong in this review. any comment in my profile, or message in my inbox will do. I respect all opinions out there.

in all honesty, i have felt different emotions i never knew i had, thanks to this manga.
thus i am rightfully giving it a perfect score of 10/10. it is not biased in any manner. i just honestly think that this manga was masterfully made. it is genius and all aspects possible. story 10/10 for a romantic comedy, school rumble presents a great deal of approach on love triangles, and not just one triangle, there are many. yet it does not derail from the main trio's life. art 10/10 and character 10/10 the character art was very original. the character make-up are also complete, there are a lot of different ... 10/10 for me
breakdown: -*8/10 for storyline, could be alittle hard to understand if you are not focused enough. but kept me guessing non the less and made me want to finish it up in the shortest time possible. The DOLLS had almost nothing to do with the anime witch was almost not needed to be placed around, anyway good support in it though. +*10/10 for art, the anime just had a great aura around it, the art was just amazing to the point that it supports the story perfectly. no other artist may have done a better job, (in my foolish opinion ofcourse). anyway great art. +*10/10 for ... Clannad an anime must watch.
it is easily a 10/10 for me, why? let me break it down. Story 10/10 A Slice of Life, Comedic, Dramatic, Romantic. A little magical and mysterious. But overall fun. The main arc / main story of the anime is about the growing relationship of the protagonist and everyone around him. He struggles to keep himself on the right path of life while dealing with hardships and struggles even with a handicap. There are also a lot of mini arcs / side stories that help in the development of the main arc. Art 10/10 I just love how the anime was presented, there was no disappointing moment ... |
