I didn't know what to expect going in with an anime rated average of 5.39, but I really don't think it deserves to be this low. People are just too pissy and appear to have unnecessarily high expectations.

Starting with episode 1, I was pleasantly surprised with how they designed the main character and the direction the story seemed to be heading in. From then on out I knew this anime was definitely underrated by people.

The episodes were very fun to watch and the story is overall light and enjoyable. There's no hard topics or a lot of drama so it's a perfect little anime ... to watch to have some fun.

Overall, don't listen to people or watch the reviews. In fact, why are you reading this? Watch anime and make your own calls instead of relying on people's info!

Let me start off by saying I'm a huge Kimi no na wa fan. It's my all-time favorite anime movie and I felt that Another Side: Earthbound would be perfect to add some extra story. I sorta always want to discover more things I don't know about it.

It's in 2 volumes. The first volume had some relatively short stories that were quite fun to read! I loved them as they added some character background, especially on Tessie, as well as some events that they didn't show in the movie.

The second volume, however, is a bit more serious. It talks about Yotsuha and some extra background ... behind the rituals and what it all represents in the first story. And in the second, it's all about Futaba (Mitsuha's mom) and Toshiki (her dad). At first I didn't think it would do much cause of how he's depicted in the movie, but they really show a lot of his character here and why he became the way he is now.

The story in the vol. 2 also shows what happens when Mitsuha comes to her dad for the second time (as Mitsuha this time), cause in the movie we only see that she comes to his office to talk him into it, but never what actually goes down. This is huuuuuge as I've always been curious about it and honestly, this on its own justifies reading these two alone. And the other stories are basically just awesome bonuses.

I definitely recommend these. They're not really connected in any way so getting just vol. 2 would be fine and there's no association to the first one, although since there are only 2, I think it's better to get them both. The stories are wonderful and they really give you unique insight that you don't get in the movie on its own. They're incredibly easy to read and the pages are very nice (physical manga book).

The pages are in black and white, except for a few first pages in vol. 1 and 1 page on vol.2. If you're a huge fan like me, definitely consider getting the physical copies, they're not hard to get at the time of writing.

All in all, a must-read for fans of the movie!

First of all, I wanna say I didn't know what I was going into once I decided to watch this. Or rather, I didn't know what to expect from 12 episodes of which each lasts for 3 minutes.

I have to say though, I got what I expected and more! I like the story, it's very fun to follow. One of the things I have to absolutely praise is the sound in this ONA. The voice acting is cute as hell for the main character, the choice of some tracks (and some images) is very curious and clearly influenced by popular media and memes. It ... kinda gave me the thought that the people making this ONA had a lot of fun doing so.

Speaking of the animations, I have to say I love them. I don't really know how I would describe them, but the closest adjective I can think of is cute. Now, this might be because of the images themselves, not the animations, however, I stand my ground here.

All in all, I have to say this is an absolutely brilliant, short little series that I have enjoyed watching. And you can fit an episode of it anywhere! So I do recommend watching this.
