Slice of life, romance, comedy. The holy trinity. Often done, rarely good.
Big competition like with: Angel Beats, Clannad, Toradora, Tamako Market or Anohana
And well done to Horimiya because they nailed it. A love story that's isn't crazy. The world isn't against them, there is no barrier fighting against them. The show has a few bonus points too: lead female character, no main character syndrome, focuses on story over fan service or expensive animation.
I think this is one of the best female characters we have ever seen in a romance anime. The girl doesn't simply love boy. We know her interests, what makes
...
her happy, what upsets her. It's great to see a better written female character for once and she is the lead in the anime and relationship. And guess what people have parents. Parents playing a role (although minor) in a romance is great to see.
We get to see a good bit of side story with the other characters and develop love pentagrams. Although this hurts the show a bit as it can be confusing and our main characters may only show up in the background. But we do get to learn about the characters which gives a bitter sweet ending, one that Orange: Mirai wish it had.
Art is lacking. And that is GOOD. Rather then a beautifully animated show we have a well written show, better trade off any day. It really shows off how good the show is without having to dazzle you.
Nothing outstanding about the music, OST is chill and the OP becomes a bit of vibe once you hear a few times.
A very relaxed show that has a wonderful story that clearly can join the greats of the slice of life, romance, comedy combo.
100% worth your watch with only 13 episodes

What a wonderful story. This movie is about how quickly time flies by and what you miss by hanging on to the past. A story about the failure to move on. At first I thought splitting up a 1 hour movie into 3 parts would hurt the story but I believe it actually excelled it.
###Spoiler Start###
Part 1 introduces us to the main character and his close friend, they eventually split up through school transfers but meet up again in the future. It also mentioned how Sakura petal's fall at 5 centimetres per second.
Part 2 And the main character is in high school and has
...
no contact to his friend from before. There is another female character who has an interest in him but it never works out since the main character is still hanging on to the past although he appear to to forgotten why. The girl says how a rocket that is planning to be launched moves at 5 kilometres per hour. This is a major statement and shows how time moves faster than you think. You think a petal falls slowly but it moves as fast as rocket. time appears slow but it is faster than you think.
Part 3 which is the shortest part, the main character is in the working world and starts dating a woman although it doesn't work out because the main character is still hanging on the past despite that he has completely forgotten who she is and has no way ever contacting here. At the end he finally remembers seeing a vision of her before the vision fading and turning away to finally move on.
While never mentioned in this part it meant to show how time moves at "5 centimetres per second". It appears as slow as a petal but it is as fast as rocket.
That metaphor is one the greatest if not the greatest in a story I've ever heard.
###Spoiler End###
While the ending has sweet parts it hard to forget what out main character missed out on and how he yet time get ahead of him, it is overall a sad ending but there is hope as he finally decides to move on. This is a wonderfully told story. A story about letting go and moving on and basically the consequences of not letting go of the past. Story 10/10
I love the painting like backdrops Art-style and detailed drawings, nothing new brought to stage but had mastered the old 8/10
Some beautiful detail to the Sounds like in every motion, the movie was alive and it sounded if it was sound that every drawing would have made and the ending song is such a heart grasping song which fits the tone perfectly. 8/10
This movie is short only an hour long which doesn't give us long to explore the Characters, the only character fully covered is the main character as he is consistently in all three parts while the is cross over with the girls in the parts each girl is singled to one part. But I feel this isn't that necessary for the story so the coverage we do get I believe is well enough done. 7/10
The start of this movie is slow as it is kinda of counter-intuitive considering it is well known what this story is about but it definitely picks itself up in the 2nd part and it begins to settle it's theme into place of being more a sad story. Enjoyment 7/10
Overall I think it is a wonderful short story only really let down by the start as there appears to be no reason to skip watching even though there is. The story appears basic with a kid reflecting on his past days and friends gone by but it leads to something much deeper than that. 8/10

This anime just isn't very interesting. Guy wants to be the best, then becomes the best. It completely lacks any story and this should be obvious from the fact there is only 5 episodes. It gained lots of popularity from the fact it was written and voiced bu Samuel L. Jackson.
To then release a squeal movie makes no sense. Make a half season of anime if you have to wait for source material then wait. The lack of content to immerse you into the anime is where this anime falls short by a long shot.
Jackson is good don't get me wrong but maybe
...
writing anime isn't the best idea for him. You may say you can't compare it cause it isn't anime, well it is animated by studio Gonzo, who made Full Metal Panic and Hellsing.
Also there is only English dub. There is no Japanese with subtitles but why would you watch it with subs if all it's going for it is the voice acting
Story, there isn't one 3/10
I did quite like the Art style but it wasn't anything special, the backdrops where kinda of bland and it didn't do much for story building 5/10
I don't even remember the Music so I'm going to say it had 0 impact on me, the Sound bonus is the voice acting 6/10
Characters are kinda just there in the show no time development or to learn about them 4/10
Best bit? Quick to watch cause there is only 5 episodes so you don't waste too much time. Enjoyment? 4/10
Overall for an anime with no story or in-depth characters with mediocre everything else don't be surprised 4/10

This is anime is so much different from your usual Romance/School anime, a lot like School Days. The anime is a little over dramatic in some parts but that's what makes it work. It a drama anime showing off the disgusting parts of love and relations; getting payback, having sex with someone else, making the other person envious or throwing someone to the curb when you don't need them. This anime is full of lies, disloyalty and deceit and it does it wonderfully.
At the it is important to pay attention as there is a lot characters. From the first episode you shown what type of
...
anime it is going to be, a story of ugly love. And the anime wants to hate the main character cause she uses people, lies and mean to others.
Throughout the middle anime it is STI season everyone is sleeping with everyone else. All the characters are developing as they try to find their feelings. It does a really good job of pushing the story towards it's end goal getting everyone to end up with the right person. The anime also contains this self-reflecting aspect where some the characters look at themselves as younger selves which I think works with the depressing theme of the anime.
The ending (Spoilers) is strangely satisfying as the two main characters stick to their original promise they made to each other; be there to fill the others loneliness, and despite any feeling that have grown and all that has happened they still leave each other as they search for their own "true love" even if they appear perfect for each other
The Story itself is fairly basic but it is as how the story is told and works with the characters is what makes this anime. It very different from most anime with a main depressing theme/lack of hope theme and it tells this type of story very well. 7/10
The Art-style used is fairly standard and there isn't much to say about it although it is to be pointed out that there is no cutting corners and some of colour selections are really amazing. 7/10
I really liked the voice acting in this anime, it is one where I really took notice of it. Chika Anzai is a wonderful Seiyuu, and she nailed this one as well playing Hanabi. I also love how the opening is upbeat which completely contrasts to the anime's feeling but fast paced liked the anime. Music in the anime isn't anything special and it works. 8/10
Like the story it isn't the characters themselves that what makes them good but how they react to each other and how they interact(and they interact a lot hehe) some of the characters go through some really played out development which really helps this anime become so good. How Hanabi is basically thrown around by others and how she changes to her feelings is really well done. 7/10
What pushed me to keep watching this anime is that I wanted to see the ending and how it all turned out. I did Enjoy the story along the way, I enjoyed watching the characters emotions at play. 6/10
Overall a different take on anime where from start to finish it is depressing and the only hope is at the end of anime and that is the end then, finished. Very well done 7/10

When it comes to strong start and being dragged right into the story, this anime easily sits at the top. Starting of with some beautiful artwork and goes straight to the action involving the main characters so you want to continue to see how it plays out, the consequences are what builds the story of the anime so you have to keep watching. The main character has a different goal than the others around him that he keeps a secret giving a perfect structure of main character.
The early parts keep to character, world and plot building.
As the anime continues the pacing slows down but the
...
plot keeps developing at a good rate and takes on a more light hearted touch which is still really enjoyable. The show adds more characters and integrates them into the plot nicely using the new characters to also world build.
This season of the anime wraps up nicely ending where it started and leading perfectly from the movie which follows this season.
The Story is simple "protect the cute girl". But seriously the main character is invested himself because of his sister (you are invested causes she is cute). Which I feels different from other Shounen because the main character isn't driven by wanting to become the best but for an active family bond that we see grow throughout the anime which is a lot more relatable. 8/10
OH MY GHAD ufotable what is this? This is not longer animation this is an Edo period masterpiece. The Art work is fantastic it has got crisp drawings with I will say the best by very very far colour palette. The contrasting colours the flowing liquid-like animation is perfection. From the studio that brought you Kara no Kyoukai the blend between animation and CGI is the best ever to hit the stage. The dynamic scene blow any and very other anime out the water, they fit the actions scenes perfectly and there has never been a better fix and I will say a long time before we see such wonderful artwork and CG crossover again(although the movie has yet to come out). 10/10
Sound is secretly one the best things this anime has to offer. The breathing, the gentle snow crunch, the rolling water and flicking flames in pull you in the world, even if don't want to be there. The soundtrack is one of the memorable out there ever scene and piece are meant to be together. There are very notable names in voice actors that really bring there characters to life. 10/10
Every Character in this anime is extremely developed each of the main case with their own little back story and it reflects their personalities so well, the way they interact with each other keeps the show well ground considering how intense the characters and their personalities and experiences can make the show at times. (also cute sister) 8/10
An Enjoyable show all together I wasn't expecting to be dragged into this anime so much and I just couldn't stop watching, I loved the characters and the story which worked together perfectly and complemented by beautiful artwork and sound makes it extremely good fun to watch. 8/10
Overall there is no way this anime isn't one the best upcoming anime series' it's few flaws can be easily overlooked by it's overwhelming amount of strengths. I thought hard is this an 8 or a 9. Is it really up there with "your name", "Sound Euphonium" or "Angle Beats" and I have decided it is. This season was fantastic and well deserving of a 9/10

I skipped the first 35 minutes because it just a recap of the anime which I watched a few minutes prior to the movie so I didn't need it.
When the original part of the movie starts it very slow and just gives a different perceptive on what we already knew with new story or information, it doesn't add to the overall story of Orange.
The story continues down the main storyline from the Orange anime and believe it or not it is exactly what you expected would happen. It feels like a bad attempt to bring everything to happy ending but we already had our happy
...
ending. Tried to pull off a Clannad After Story but failed horribly
Story ignoring the anime story is pretty bad, nothing happens. 4/10
Art and Animation is slightly better in the movie over the anime. 7/10
The music is pretty basic and generic. 6/10
They messed around with the characters and characters like Suwa are way too self centered and Naho is strangely ignorant of everyone else only thinking about her relation with Kakeru. Although it was nice to confirm Azu and Hagito got together. 4/10
Enjoyment? A waste of time, end it at the anime. There is no need to watch this. Basically a recap. 3/10
So overall? 4/10

This anime starts so strong, so many unanswered questions pushing you to continue watching. Such a compelling story told through some of the best story telling I've ever seen, easily on par with Erased. The story is fantastic and the way it is portrayed is absolute brilliance. The way the 2 separate story are connected but more story gets revealed that you never knew was missing complexing the story more and more. The characters are so real it's strange at times their emotions and how react to different situations is so real.
I recommend this anime to everyone, it was the heart warming story of
...
Clannad, Your Name or A Silent Voice. The story telling of Erased. The simpleness of Bokura ga Ita or Say 'I Love You'. And character growth like Parasyte.
The Story and story telling is amazing constantly twisting but simple to the light hearted tone of the story. It is a simple story of friendship and love 9/10
The only place this anime falls short is the Art and Animation, background characters sloppy and the animation can be lazy or badly done at times but I never felt to be an over bearing factor or anything that ruined the anime 6/10
The light hearted theme follows through in the Music really well flowy piano, tear jerking violin so suiting to the anime 8/10
The Characters are simple but amazing at playing their roles and develop really well in pace with story. 8/10
There is a reason I watched this anime the whole way through in one day because it is so Enjoyable and always pushing me to continue to watch. 8/10
Overall a strong and nice anime 8/10
Some small SPOILER points
If Suwa had a letter why did he invite Kakeru out despite knowing the letter to be true, bit of a small plot hole which kinda cover by "he didn't believe the letter"
The letters existence and how they came to be is good for answering the question but I think leaving it open ended would been better
Following that I feel the alternative universe was kinda of a way to dodge a bullet with who Naho ends up with especially considering they such a strong bond in the future with Naho and Suwa almost if they knew whoever they chose as Naho's partner was people would never agree although I do it was a good ending and I happy with how it eneded

Not a Romance Anime btw
Thought that would be my main point to make from this
The anime has an interesting niche into Japanese culture showing of the Koto. The story is based around a Koto club in highschool with a set of new members. Most learning from little experience. The story well played out well, as they aim for nationals.
The Story is a little slow at the start and some of the characters don't fit so well the slow and pace of the story. The story picks up well during the middle but slows down again a bit too much near the end. 7/10
The Art
...
style is nice but sometimes it slacks off with emotional-less faces for copy pasted faces. 7/10
For an anime based around Sound I felt it lacked besides the performances but even they were a little plain. 7/10
The characters were a bit all over the place, some main characters got no development, some development was badly grounded and some one episode character got more development than the main characters. 6/10
I did Enjoy this anime but sometimes it got a little boring at times but I got lots of the vibes I got from Hibike Euphonium especially during the middle ("UMAKU NARITAI") and it is why I picked up this anime and it enjoyable to watch some of the better parts of the anime play out. 7/10
Overall an interesting anime that slakes in its character development and doesn't really show off the koto. It is also labelled as a romance anime which is not true, it not even an underlying theme, there are only 2 or 3 scene with real romance that lead to nothing by the end of the season. Although the performances are well animated with good sound at times and while character development lacks in some areas it is quite good where it is strong. Overall 7/10

A bit slow in the start and personally I don't really like Shoko. I feel her character is a bit boring and disconnected. The movie throws some the better characters to the side in this Movie that where in the Anime to a larger degree.
Took some time to get into the movie, that was one tear jerker moment but it felt a bit too unreal to be anymore than that.
The ending is pretty unfulfilling considering how in-depth the rest of the movie is although it doesn't leave any unanswered questions
In honesty a disappointing follow up to the anime.

Quite an enjoyable show, it has a quick pace which jumps from story arc to story arc. The Puberty Syndrome is really just a loose term to bring the stories together. It really slows down nearer the end but quite enjoyable.
There really isn't base line Story really besides the character relations 7/10
The Art and Animation are quite well done in this one. 8/10
The Sound is nothing special, standard tunes to fit the moment. 7/10
The Characters don't really undergo any overall development but they are good well built characters from the start. 8/10
There is good humour and interesting stories which really adds to the enjoyment.

Overall a 7/10 At the start I felt it was a 6 or 7 but the anime grew the more I watched it
