Holy cow, Grand Blue is an absolute riot! This "diving" anime (yeah right, more like a drinking anime with occasional diving scenes 😂) had me crying with laughter even on my third rewatch. The way it portrays college life is hilariously over-the-top - from the spontaneous stripping contests to the increasingly ridiculous drinking games. Every episode is packed with perfect comedic timing and facial expressions that just kill me.

Whether you're into college comedies or just need a good laugh, Grand Blue delivers. Just don't expect actual diving lessons... unless your diving instructor is a half-naked dude trying to make you drink "water" that's definitely not ... water!

The stunning animation brings every nuanced expression and gesture to life, making the characters' emotional journey feel incredibly real. While some side characters could've used more development, the complex relationship between the main leads pulls you in completely. The thoughtful sound design and music perfectly complement the storytelling, especially in moments of silence. Despite dealing with heavy themes, it balances darker moments with heartwarming scenes of growth and healing. This film hits hard and sticks with you long after watching.

The main characters feel believably flawed. Our protagonist struggles with self-hatred while trying to change, and ... his past victim shows complex emotions beyond simple forgiveness. Though some side characters deserved more exploration, the core relationship develops naturally.

Anyone who appreciates emotionally mature storytelling will find something powerful here, whether they typically watch anime or not. It's a uniquely touching take on redemption, disability, and the courage to face your past mistakes.
