Story: 10
Basically a young girl named Chizuru has dressed herself as a boy and is on a journey to find her father. She is then taken into custody by the Shinsengumi, with their leader Hijikata left responsible for her. She has to continue dressing like a boy, but she accompanies them with their many ventures.
~Ok so most otome game animes in my opinion do not do that well, but this one is exceptional. Since I'm a sucker for reverse harems, I gave this a try. The plot and story has real depth and shows the characters struggles. But what I like most about
...
this anime is the fact that it really has it all. Though not very light-hearted, it has tons of action, fantasy and of course, some shoujo romance.
Art: 10
Ok so the art is exceptional. By far, one of the best.
Sound:10
I personally loved the opening and ending song. The voices of the characters were right on as well.
Character: 9
Chizuru: So a lot of people bash the female protagonist Chizuru, for her helplessness and the fact that she doesn't do anything. But she was not meant to help fight or anything. She was just looking for her dad and ran into the Shinsengumi..and she did the best she could to contribute in some way. I enjoyed her throughout the show but I feel like they could have given her a more interesting personality. At times, she seemed very cliche to me. And though she is the only female and the main character, the show is really about the guys. The guys were great. Each one had their own personal battle and it was interesting to watch because everyone had their own personality.
Enjoyment: 10
If you like tons of action you will enjoy this. But if you like shoujo romances, I feel you will really enjoy it as well but don't expect the series to be completely focused on the romance and relationships.
Overall: 10 ^^

Mistress Fortune was something I picked up because I love Arina Tanemura. It is, as usual, a magical girl shojo romance(with some comedy).
~STORY~
It is very hard to have an exceptional story for a manga series as short as this(one volume?!). So it wasn't exceptional but it was still very good. It is about a girl named Kisaki who can transform into Fortune Tiara, a heroine with powers fighting of aliens. She teams up with her crush Giniro, who transforms into Fortune Quartz. I really liked the whole girl x boy team because it really tied into the romance.
~ART~
As expected of Tanemura, the art is
...
gorgeous!!
~CHARACTER~
Kisaki: In love with Giniro; can transform into Fortune Tiara. She is very cute appearance wise but she is an airhead. But not the annoying kind, she is very funny and adorable.
Giniro: Handsome, can transform into Fortune Quartz. Surprisingly perverted, unlike Tanemura's other male leads. He is also kind of an airhead, on the outside at least. On the inside he is very caring and stubborn.
~ENJOYMENT~
For a one-volume series, it was pretty darn good. Of course, it is one volume so it is light and fun, no real concise plot. But it still deserves recognition because I really enjoyed it.
~OVERALL~
For a light Tanemura read, give it a try. Don't expect a genius plot or the best characters in the world because it is only one volume long.

Kitchen Princess...a very fluffy and cute shoujo romance. But it is actually more than that, it is very gripping manga with great characters and a worthwhile romance.
STORY:
8/10
The story is fairly cliche, a girl named Najika is trying to find her "Flan Prince" who saved her from drowning in Hokkaido when she was younger. Though the original concept was not the best, the story is actually well done. There are very big twists in the plot and various love interests.
ART:
10/10
Beautiful artwork, very well done. Fits the typical shoujo image.
CHARACTER:
9/10
Najika: The heroine of the series. She dreams of becoming a professional chef like her parents and
...
has attended the academy based on a spoon that her "Flan Prince" left her years ago when she almost drowned. I really enjoyed her. She seemed like an airhead but was really not. She is actually highly skilled and is very caring. She is also very clever and always thinks of others.
Sora: Najika's initial love interest. Very typical shojo boy. Nice and a very fast mover with girls. Very popular with girls and is captivated by Najika's talent, and later Najika herself. Again, a typical shojo boy but still adds to the story.
Daichi: Sora's brother. He is also fairly popular except he is almost the opposite of Sora. While still nice, he is more secretive and colder. Yet this is just to hide the fact that he generally cares and is carrying a huge guilt on him.
Akane: Najika's initial enemy, but later her best friend. She is a model who is very pretty. She is in love with Daichi. I really enjoyed her. She is very interesting and funny. Overall, a brilliant character.
ENJOYMENT:
10/10
More than just a shoujo romance to me. I was very upset when I finished the series. You can't help but feel happy during some of the chapters. It is an addictive one.
OVERALL:
10/10
As usual, I would not recommend this unless you like romance manga but it is a very good read.

AB was a manga I read after seeing all the recommendations for it plus i love Yuu Watase. It is about a girl named Riiko who has been yearning and trying(unsuccessfully) to hook a boyfriend. She then meets a man who can grant her a "boyfriend". And this is how the story begins.
STORY:
I felt the basic concept was pretty entertaining...the whole fake lover sort of thing. But not to fear there is also romance with a real guy. I really enjoyed the love triangle and the semi-perverted comedy. The story will certainly not disappoint romance-fans. It's Yuu Watase of course! On the cons side, after
...
you get past the fake lover concept, the romance turns out to be fairly cliche. Girl loves hot boy, but childhood friend loves girl. Also there are s some very perverted scenes, where sex is seen as a way to "seal the deal". I am not going to lie, I felt that is was un-needed. Lastly, the little thing that bothered me was the abrupt ending. Even though I knew what was going to happen, I felt that an epilogue was needed.
ART:
The art was very well done. Yuu Watase is obviously pretty much flawless with her art and drawing. AMAZING!
CHARACTER:
This will be my general opinion on the characters, so some people may think otherwise.
Night: I really loved Night, Riiko's fake boyfriend. I felt that he was perverted but he was also very caring and protective(which i think is hard to come by.) He was also very cute and very funny. He was really an entertaining character who's personality was adorable.
Soushi: I really loved Soushi as well. He was very handsome and the romance between him and Riiko was very entertaining. He is a boy-next-door/childhood friend turned lover type. I loved his personality too. He always put himself last and treasured Riiko's true feelings.
Riiko: Now I am very judgmental when it comes to the female lead. So to be honest, I thought she was a fairly weak lead. She is pretty desperate when it comes to love and is your typical yearning-for-a-boyfriend airhead. Now she wasn't the worst heroine I have ever seen but at some points in the story she really got on my nerves.
ENJOYMENT:
If you are into a shoujo romance/bishie/love triangle --sort of thing like I am than you will enjoy it(heck, i enjoyed it despite the heroine).
OVERALL:
It is a light, short romance that is good to read when you have some extra time on your hands. I wouldn't say this type of story caters to everyone but it does justice to shoujo romance fans(or Watase fans). So I would say give it a go and you will probably enjoy it.
*keep in mind that there are some sexual themes*

STORY: The story is about a young girl whose brother drops off orphaned children for her to take care of. The brother is a gambler and the girl is always in need of money to take care of them The story is fairly original, though when the romance is introduced it is kind of cliche. Two boys fight over the girl. Though with one of them it takes a little longer. The romance is, however, the best part of the story. The various twists that go along with the plot increase the enjoyment. This is definetly for romance lovers with some mature themes but most
...
of it is kept along 13-14 and up.
ART: The art was fairly good but certainly not the best part of the series. The men look handsome(though I have seen better bishies). But the females are drawn noticably better. Sumi(the lead girl) when drawn in various dresses is pretty impressive.
CHARACTER: The characters were above average and met my standards.
Sumi's personality is almost like Tohru Hondas from Fruits Basket. No matter how harsh the circumstances, she does what she can for the orphaned children. She at first seems very dumb and clueless, but as the series progresses she has her bright times.
Soichiro is the man who marries Sumi. He brought alot to the story and I adore him. He has a harsh exterior which makes him more mysterious. He plays into the romance element very nicely. Despite his exterior, he eventually falls for Sumi. He is very protective and he cared for his family alot.
Nozumu is a young man who gives Sumi some money and she eventually falls for him. The feelings soon become mutual and he is the main antagonist throughout the series. Ueda does a very good job with his personality and background. There are major changes and twists regarding his personality and character(~im not going to give too much away~). He is seen as a prince-like character but he soon turns possessive and agressive.
ENJOYMENT:
I enjoyed this series very much. The three main characters re wonderful. And like me, any shoujo romance fan would adore this. Despite some cliche elements, everything was new and original. I really enjoyed the romance and love triangle.

STORY: It may look like a typical magical girl anime but it is one of my favorite animes and it provides a very good plot. It was knocked down to a 9 because of the many fillers and the repetitive battles with the X eggs. The story is unique and different and all forms of magic reflect the character's personality rather then just transforming to save the world. This is because they transform, or "character change" into someone they want to be in the future.
ART: No complaints on the art. It was very well done especially on Ikuto

STORY: The story is nothing special. It is a cliche romance love triangle. But it gets at least a 5 because of Sai. It is about a tanned girl named Momo who is constantly sabotaged by her "friend" Sai and is in love with two guys, Kairi and Toji. There are some surprising twists in the story but unless you really have no good anime to watch I would pass.
ART: This is probably the worst part of the anime. Somehow the art is too real, it's bad. The art is kinda stiff in movement and I wish it had more of a somehow "un-realistic" look.
...
But since you can't base an anime on its art, I let it go.
SOUND: Sound is one of the better parts. The english dub of the title song gets on your nerves a little but the voices were good. Sai's voice was honestly the best.
CHARACTER: Honestly, the characters were all pretty shallow. They made mistakes that irritated the heck out of you. They didn't seem to gain any lessons from their relationships. Momo(the main character) was overly dramatic and she seemed clingy in her relationships with both guys. Toji was just a boring stick in the mud who didn't believe Momo at all for half of the show. Kairi was a little better than Toji and he provided alot of the comedy for the show. Sai was the best though. She was pure evil and probably the smartest character in the show. She was hilarious in her schemes and the whole character was genius. I ended up watching the show because of her.
ENJOYMENT: The enjoyment level is a little below average. I enjoyed all of the scene that took place with Sai. To be honest, most of the comedy came from what the show was lacking. It lacked a lot of things, most importantly, a plot that actually matters and has a real conflict. It was something I would finish in 2 days just to kill time. The romance does get a little interesting but other then that it was a pretty mediocre anime.
OVERALL: Watch it if you want to see a genius villain and don't mind a bad plot.

STORY: The story is unique for the Magical Girl genre. The protagonists are infused with animal DNA which makes it a little more interesting. But the romance is one of the best parts. I'll try not to spoil anything but the villains are amazing! It has a big twist towards the end and lots of relationships and possible relationships arise xD
ART: the Art is great. There are no flops anywhere. The transformations were especially great(my favorite was Zakuras)
Sound: I have to say I found two flaws in terms of character voices. Ichigo's voice got annoying after awile because of the high pitch. And Masaya's voice
...
sounded a little too much like a girl's.
CHARACTER: I was mainly disappointed in characters. Ichigo extremely got on my nerves when she yells out to Masaya almost every episode. I felt Zakura should have played a mainer part in show instead of talking once or twice every five episodes. I also thought Ryou should have had a mainer role in terms of romance(Ichigo and Lettuce?). The villains were amazing..one of the best and the rest of the "team" was great.
ENJOYMENT: Despite Ichigo, it was a great anime that is highly enjoyable.
OVERALL: Watch it but be prepared to cover your ears when Ichigo is there.

A lot of people constantly say they hate this manga. But...for me it is honestly one of my favorites! Heres a shortened version why:
STORY: The story is pretty good. It is a typical magical girl plot and it is kinda like a better version of Little Mermaid with more romance.
ART: In both the manga and anime the art is outstanding. Perfect 10 cause it soo kawaii! There is no flops in the character design whatsoever.
CHARACTERS: The characters are great! The 3 main protagonists are each different with their own personality and their own individual struggles. The villains in the first part of the book
...
are more entertaining that the MMPPP Pure villains.
ENJOYMENT: I overall enjoyed the manga as well as the anime. There are alot of fillers in the anime and repetitive battles with the villains. The manga shortens that and conveys the story in 7 volumes. It is also pretty good in terms of comedy and romance. The transformations are a little different in the manga but it still shows there changing from idol to human to mermaid.
OVERALL: Overall, I recommend this manga as well as the anime. Do not listen to the bad reviews unless you are not a fan of the Magical Girl/Romance genre. Any Magical girl or Romance fan would overall enjoy this.
