People are disappointed because it didn't match the tension of main stream romance, but id say it's comforting to watch the characters develop in their interests and expand their horizon in doing various things
I don't think it's as bad as people claim to be here,But the premise is unrealistic, especially the tension drag in the last few episodes, and it was fine after the unrealistic setup, because damn how can you even try to fake a marriage for such a silly reason, But the writing order could have been better, as in we get informed about the events quicker in episodes 3-8. I think that pacing
...
would be of help. But considering all that, I think it's still nice to watch, it's chill and doesn't have anything overdramatic, The workplace setting was nicely developed, and the characters were good, so was the aso village episodes.
If I were to write it, I would name the title as lost adults diary, because it's not just about getting married although the title seems to be reinforced in the show; the characters are 24 and 26, and they are working in a travel agency, lost in their lives with their past and want to make amends to change parts of their history that was blocked out to them, this is a noticable development when they start going out with each other. I feel they could have expanded on the main character, because he's half assed in things he does, this is said by his father and reflects in his life, they could have shown why he's the way he is with more plot points.
Could have expanded on the guy more.
I don't think everyone would agree with me, but I think it's a good show, so take it with a grain of salt.

Hyouka is a Mystery Novel published by Honobu Yonezawa Where it's first volume was published in 2001, Directed by Kyoto Animations Company which is known to make splendid pieces of art come to life- There's an enchanting presence of the scenery that depicts the reality of the characters juxtaposed to the actions taken by one, The elegance of which is mainly depicted by regulating and holding back their emotions. There's a subtle on-the-verge feeling that keeps you inching for the next episode, followed by the High school theme that syncs with rapid yet reasonable pace of story telling. The author is extremely talented, as
...
he understands human connection to such a ornamental level and is able to portray such a thing meticulously, perhaps we have a fine piece that shall last the test of time; hyouka may as well be one of those shows that may stick to your repertoire, which connects to you in such a way that it is almost a comfort show.
To me, Hyouka sticks out in the stream of shows that come by because:
1) Consistent and slow character development
2) Great lighting work and character design (pay attention to this one! it may reveal a lot about them than you may expect)
3) Exceptional Mystery elements and inspiration
4) Meaningful integration of characters
There's one more thing that I wanted to add, but perhaps that may be for you to find out :)
I hope you pick up Hyouka, and possibly the original book as well!

Tensai Basket man Sakuragi
The toll of freedom is the weight of responsibility, if that's the case then: Sakuragi has the wings to extend, but is bound to his duties. the blazing passion is a result of his drive to excite and keep Shohoku High school on court while being peculiar and comical. chef's kiss!
He plays a vital role in juxtaposing the temperament and the morale of his team and succeeds to lighten the serious demeanor of High school Basketball, Witness basketball moves introduced by a rookie and the rough path of learning them in such a short span, the character growth is sporadic
...
and justified.
Rukawa adds a profound tone to the already exciting manga, that keeps you on the edge until the buzzer. Personally, His serious demeanor blends well with Sakuragi's light comedy. He directly calls out Sakuragi on his mistakes and may be seen as reserved/selfish, however it adds depth to the story and introduces other critical points which are beyond the scope of this review. But It must be mentioned that The Mangaka Takehiko Inoue seems to lighten the mood when required to cover up the substantial depth and reality of these characters, they balance each other out creating a scale that balances uniformly
Slam dunk plays a pivotal role to newer series; a baseline inspiration from an artistic and design standpoint. The excitement of an underdog team that have memorable characters and remarkable execution makes it arguably one of the best Sports Manga; It has such a widespread cultural impact. coincidentally, Slam Dunk adds a parallel to Chicago Bulls - MJ and Dennis Rodman(rukawa and sakuragi respectively), However it is critical to mention that: Inoue has made it his own piece, and the keyword is unique and enduring.
Combine that with the consistency of the art: A Must watch for anyone who wants quality adrenaline
EXTRA NOTE:
-If you're used to watching anime, the Slam dunk anime is good, with amazing soundtracks - ZARD/WANDS/ZYGG. I do agree that the anime has a pacing issue, however if you've read the manga, the anime has it's highs and lows and can be a great refresher.

I cannot comprehend why this show has been rated so low, It holds the slice of life theme and only sidetracks when it's absolutely necessary, It uses elements of sorrow & mixes with it a bittersweet experience creating an unparalleled introspective root with past and reality of Neo-Venezia. The soundtracks of Aria are exceptional and blend to the pacing of the scene. The characters are introduced leisurely in the first few episodes, but sufficient time is given to build the foundation of Aria Company & Undines, Aria Pokoteng the mascot of Aria Company has an enchanting presence throughout the show and I enjoyed every bit
...
of his screen time hehe.
I think one of the things people forget about this show is: It's rewatchable, You can watch it as many times as you wish because the pacing is episodic, there is development but it's only because you aren't initially aware of the characters.
Truly, a 10/10 from my side
