So far this season has been a let down for a multitude of reasons, and given that it's apparently only eight episodes long, writing a review after 6 episodes seems valid.
The production value is as good as we've come to expect, but the story is so severely lacking and, at times, completely nonsensical that it just can't be called good. To keep it as vague as possible and avoid spoilers, I'll merely state that the training part of this training arc mostly just boils down to needless cruelty against the trainees with little to no guidance half the time, as well as all the nameless
...
bystanders commenting on how amazing the Hashira are and/or Tanjiro is. It gets old fast and really overstays its welcome.
It is entirely possible that the final two episodes are good, and maybe the final episode is longer, like the final episode of the previous season, but so much of this season has simply been consistently below average enough that it basically doesn't matter if those two episodes end up becoming god's gift to mankind, this season simply isn't salvageable anymore. Hopefully, the next season will be better.
4/10.

This review will not contain any spoilers for what happens in the show or any of the characters, but for my review to make sense I must convey that there are more points of view this time around. Long story short, this season is slow, and I don't mean that it lacks action, a lot of shows can have a pretty fast pace with little to no action, and season 1 of Vinland saga had plenty of low-action episodes that weren't all that slow.
Story - 6/10
The 6/10 is a gross over simplification, it feels a lot more like several different shows that would probably be
...
8/10 on their own, but this season just seems afraid to progress the story. Whenever it seems like something is about to happen (once again, not necessarily action) the focus shifts to something else completely for a while before swapping again before anything truly substantial happens.
Art - 9/10
Really solidly drawn, great cinematography.
Sound - 8/10
The voice acting is good, but the soundtrack feels a lot flatter than season 1.
Character - 9/10
I actually really like how Thorfinn is handled in this season, and the new characters generally hold up well.
Enjoyment - 4/10
Here is where it falls flat. The fact that the show just staggers and staggers drives me insane, everything is just way too slow.
Overall - 6/10
If this season had been 8 episodes that were an hour long instead I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have been an issue, but the story they are telling really doesn't feel like its working with episodes this short.

Spoiler free review.
Short version: Really good arc, but there where some dangerous precedents that where set that might very well ruin the magic of the show if they continue.
Story 7/10: The story is honestly not that good. It's not bad by any stretch, but this season, much more so than season 1, got by on hype and fights. One thing I will say though is that there where some questionable usages of first a time skip during training, and then flashbacks to what they did during training during fights to show that "oh yeah they learnt this, just fyi, and they are going to use
...
it now." There where also some really power-of-friendship-y moments that I will not go into due to spoiler reasons, but I did have problems with.
Art 10/10: One of the best looking shows, if not THE best looking show, of 2021. Great choreography, great backgrounds, great art. It's honestly impressive how they blend CGI and 2D without it getting janky.
Sound 10/10: Outstanding OST and great voice acting.
Character 7/10: There was some character development, but not much happened over all. The new characters where a mixed bag, I really liked some of them, while some just felt like padding.
Enjoyment 9/10: Art and Sound goes a long way to cover the above mentioned flaws in the heat of the moment.
Overall 8/10: Setting hype aside, I can't really give the show 9/10 or 10/10.

The simplest way to put it is "extremely overhyped." I liked season 1, I really liked season 2, I loved season 3 even if a few episodes bugged me, and even if 'The Final Season' part 1 as a whole bugged me, I still loved a couple of episodes from it. There is no love here, only disappointment, which even that dwindled over the course of the show.
Story 3/10.
The ball really has been dropped at this point, there weren't quite as many flashbacks this time around, but the few that remained was at the absolute worst placement possible. The story aside from flashbacks has also
...
gotten noticeably worse, to the point that you can't even believe what you see on screen anymore. It got so bad in one episode that a character practically turned to the camera and said "Ok, we did the thing, and there is no doubt that we did it" (they did not do the thing).
Art 8/10.
The show still looks good, the CGI has improved, not that it needed much improvement to begin with.
Sound 8/10.
Good voice acting, good music, nothing much to say.
Character 6/10.
Same old characters we've grown to know and love, even if the world around them has lost a lot of its charm.
Enjoyment 4/10.
It's very tempting to put this at the aptly named rating of ' 1/10: pathetic' after watching the final episode, but the show itself wasn't that bad all throughout. There still wasn't any real part I'd consider good in this season, though.
Overall 4/10.
I'm really only still here because of a misplaced sense of obligation, I guess? I don't actually enjoy or look forward to any episodes anymore, though.

This was a single episode ending to two other shows (Despair Arc and Future Arc), so watch those first (and also, play Danganronpa 1 & 2 before watching those).
Story 5/10: About the same quality as Despair arc and Future arc, except they made one, in my opinion, major mistake. I'm not sure if the fault lies with this or the Future arc though, but since it only really "became" a flaw here I guess it's this one episode's fault.
Art 6/10: It's not great, it's not terrible.
Sound 6/10: Better than Despair and Future, since they had a lot less of the video games' music and more
...
original tracks that actually fit an animates series better.
Character 6/10: Same as Despair and Future basically except Junko wasn't around to be ruined.
Enjoyment 6/10: Not a lot to say, it's an ending episode and it's not terrible.
Overall 6/10

First of all, this show contains massive spoilers for Danganronpa 1 & 2, so don't watch the show or read this review unless you've played those games.
This is better than the despair arc, but still not great.
Story 6/10: It works, the killing game follows different rules compared to Danganronpa 1 & 2, and there are a few twists that are kinda good. It's not outstanding though.
Art 6/10: Nothing outstanding, but it doesn't look bad at all.
Sound 5/10: Just like with the despair arc, video game music is great, but it doesn't really fit in anime.
Character 6/10: Can't say much, the characters worked, they had a
...
few layers even if they where thin, I can't really complain.
Enjoymen 7/10: I'd definitely say I enjoyed this more than the despair arc, but its nowhere near the top of what I've seen.
Overall 6/10: Most episodes where either good or ok, there where a few straight up bad episodes though. I can probably recommend this to fans of Danganronpa without much thought.

First of all, this show contains massive spoilers for Danganronpa 1 & 2, so don't watch the show or read this review unless you've played those games.
This show isn't awful, you can watch it without suffering from intense boredom. That being said though, it's not good, I'd say all in all, the show had a few bad, a few OK, and ONE good episode, and the good one wasn't outstanding either.
Story 4/10: "There is nothing scarier than our own imagination" is probably the best summary of how I feel about the story. Danganronpa 1 and 2 left us without answers as for how Junko managed
...
to execute her plan and create the ultimate despairs. This was answered here, but the answers were terrible. If you expected some conniving mastermind exploiting personal weaknesses and grooming them to be her perfect little troupe of lackeys you will be seriously dissapointed.
Art 6/10: Nothing outstanding, but it doesn't look bad at all.
Sound 5/10: I love video game music, but it doesn't really fit all that well in a show.
Character 3/10: There were some minor character retcons, such as Hajime liking games quite a lot despite not caring for them all that much in Danganronpa 2, but that I can forgive.
What I cannot forgive, is how they absolutely butchered Junko, I can't bring up a lot of detailed or specific complaints without spoiling, but just know that she's way less interesting and thought out here than prior.
Enjoymen 6/10: Somehow, despite all prior complaints, I actually found it fairly enjoyable, I can't really explain that though. I guess I'm just a simp for this franchise.
Overall 6/10: There where a couple of good scenes and one whole good episode. If you are a die hard fan of Danganronpa and need more media to consume, watch it I guess. It's a very weak "recomendation" though even then.

This review will be free of spoilers:
I want to like this season, and I kinda did, but it was frustrating to see the drop in production quality from the first season.
Story 8/10. The source material is really good, and they adapt it quite faithfully. However, there are changes to the little things that makes it different in mostly bad ways.
Art 4/10. It looks bad, not all the time, but it mostly looks bad. Not bad enough that it really bugs you, but its still a sad sight compared to season 1.
Sound 7/10. Very few new soundtracks, though the few they did add are solid, voice
...
work could have been done better however. A lot of lines did feel like they lacked the extra oomph.
Character 8/10. I really like the setting, tone, and characters in this show. There is however a surprising lack of growth, especially in the context of what happens over the course of this season.
Enjoyment 7/10. Really high highs and pretty low lows, the middle of the show was essentially one single episode stretched out into three different ones, padded by silent still images and recap flashbacks. It did mostly make up for it at the end, but still, feeling like a quarter of the show is just dead weight isn't exactly excusable... I feel like this is caused by a low budget and them wanting to center it around the end of the season, which was an ok move I guess? But that doesn't really change the reality that it made it less enjoyable for me.
Overall 7/10. I was considering giving the show an 8, but it that doesn't really seem right.

I usually don't write reviews until I've seen the entire thing, but I just can't help but write this now when I've "only" seen 10/16 episodes.
Story 6/10:
The story itself isn't actually bad, it's actually quite good, if not for one problem, the flashbacks. About half of the episodes have left me with a feeling of "oooh, I want to see what happens next!" only to instead feature, almost exclusively, flashbacks to something that could have just been shown before whatever is currently happening chronologically was shown... There is also another more specific problem I have with these flashbacks, but discussing that would be a spoiler,
...
let's just say that it kinda feels like the author (or screenwriters depending on how closely they follow the source) is trying to cheat the system...
Art 8/10:
People seem to complain a bit about the CGI, but it's honestly not bad. Not much to say.
Sound 10/10:
Great music, great voice acting.
Character 7/10:
Like the setting, like the characters, but there isn't anything particularly outstanding.
Enjoyment 5/10:
As discussed with the story, the frequent jumps from "moving forward" too "this happened a while back, but we didn't show it until now!" just feels awful (and a lot of the time, it doesn't even feel entirely necessary).
Overall 6/10:
The show is good when it is good, and even the flashback episodes I've talked about hating is "good" in isolation (mostly), but for the third time, I just can't stand how they suddenly just forgot how the linear progression of time works...

I'll start by saying, this show is not for everyone. A fairly good summary of what the show is about is that its SAO except that whole "get trapped and die IRL if you die in game" thing never happened. This is a lighthearted show, there is no real tension 90% of the time. If you want a gritty show, or a show that focuses on action, you are not likely to enjoy it.
This show is about a girl new to video games finding and utilizing some exploits early on and somehow ending up with a character build that allows her to perform ever
...
more absurd shenanigans, and those shenanigans are what gives the show its enjoyment value.
Story: 6/10
I mean, there is a chronological flow of events, and arcs that build upon one another. Does that sound bare bones? It is, there is really nothing else to it. No profound mysteries are set up, some battles are built up I suppose, but those aren't the focus of the story anyway.
Art: 9/10
This is not the first season of one punch man, but it has seamless CG and goof flowing animations. Quality is consistent throughout.
Sound: 9/10
Solid voice acting, great soundtrack, if a bit repetitive.
Character: 8/10
This is a character focused show, the main characters antics outside of any real main story conflict as well as the bright and cheery tone of the in game world are the lifeblood of the show. However, the characters lack just about any depth, at least as the first season goes. Maybe there is development in season 2, but season 1 gives us nothing.
Enjoyment: 8/10
I'd say this is most closely related to feel-good shows. It's supposed to be fun, not deep or profound, and it manages that quite well.
Overall: 8/10
Would recommend, but with the "wrong" expectations you might be disappointing.
