The art style is very similar. Ten from Short Cake Cake is a lot like Mao in Taiyou no Ie both in appearance and personality. The stories don't seem to be similar but I was reminded of Taiyou no Ie as I read.

I don't feel that the characters are especially similar, but I am surprised that this hasn't been recommended here. The themes feel very similar when it comes to the lengths they want to go within the music industry. Both are about bands/singers trying to reach new heights on the road to fame. In both the main characters suffer heartbreak and loss and have to find a way to keep moving forward and turn it into music.

When I read Kanojo wa Uso wo Aishisugiteru I was reminded of Fuuka. There is a fair amount of drama in both series, and they share many similarities. Both have female leads who live to sing and who love music, and both contain lead males who experience painful things and they use music to move through it. The feel is very similar to me but the stories are pretty different as well. I really enjoyed them both.

The stories are very, VERY different.. but there are a few similarities. Both heroines have no home left to go back to, they both live with older male guardian-like figures, and they both end up falling for them. Kamisama is much longer and it isn't as simple as Tsubaki-chou, but I really enjoy both of them. To me, they have similar feelings.
