I'm honestly writing this to help other people avoiding what I can only consider an extremely overrated Anime. Reviews here for this Anime remind me of the "professional" reviews on rotten tomatoes, which most by now mudt have realized are utterly unrelatable to fans and normal people. Maybe they take in consideration their likes of people involved or the sense of "cult" this anime has, but here's what I got so far:

1 - It's boring
2 - it's repetitive
3 - Common useless life lessons
4 - The character construction is rushed in each episode as they all have their individual story to tell. While the main character ... really seems rather souless and with no interesting traits.
5 - Mushishi themselves are also boring and most of the time senseless.

The art is good, soundtrack is amazing. The development in each episode is mostly predictable.

Anyways. It's quite rare for me to give up an Anime after watching these many episodes, but i gave up around the 8th or 9th.

I never get that feeling like "I need to watch one more" or "i need to know what's gonna happen" or even the "I am afraid for some character's end". it's mostly a calm eventless anime. good if you wanna chill, waste your time and get nothing back from it or just to help you sleep.
