Seiyuu Ka! by Minami Maki
I am not really a fan of the gender bender category but I must say this manga was done really well. Although when I was reading for the first time, I did not find it interesting probably because of the lead female character--in my opinion, she was trying too hard--but later as you go along with the lead female character, Kino Hime, I came to love her.
The mangaka did a job well done in expressing both Hime's character and Shiro separately. Almost as if it was originally two different characters.
The manga is considered a shoujo but in my opinion, there was
...
a lack of romance in the manga itself. Though this does not, damper the whole manga. I think what appeals this manga the most was the journey of Kino Hime's dream in becoming a top-notch seiyuu--through the ups and downs--which is something that the readers can relate.
There were also a lot of humor inserted here and there at the beginning part of the manga. I really enjoyed laughing my heart out at those moments the most!
But in the end, I think the ending was a bit rushed, if only they would elongated that particular final chapter, it would have had a good ending enjoyed by everyone and not just me. I was rather disappointed by just that.
Overall, this manga is worth the read.
