Enjoyable, charming and very cute.
That's precise and short description of Nisekoi. I liked a lot of single details in this anime. Characters styling, scene timings, artwork, sound, story and more. Combination of these gives a great impression.
Nisekoi is a really sweet story. For me it's like a perfect rom com. Yeah it does have many clichés, but it never seems negative. I liked how they balance comedy and romance not sticking to any side too much. I think I could enjoy every single scene in this anime, nothing seemed out of a place.
Characters are super adorable. Change of their attitude is easily noticeable throughout the
...
series. It makes you empathize them.
Art is beautiful. Scenes are put at the right angles and distance. But great and realistic backgrounds are not a feature of this anime, yet it is not bad at all.
Sound. Great OP and ED. I'm so into Claris! Music is great too, gives the right atmosphere and feeling. Seiyuu are so fitting their characters, that's awesome!
Nisekoi is for you if you yearn for positive emotions without sad drama.

I was aware of Plamemo since the time it started airing, but a lot of thoughts of it made me delay watching it, and I tell you it was not for nothing. At first I my expectations from synopsis information were like: a guy gets to work at company where they collect androids or giftias whose time is expiring and it will be accompanied with a lot of tears. Actually in reality so it is. With a lot things added and mixed up, like futuristic sci-fi setting, technologically advanced world, it makes a good anime.
In fact the story is not that full of tears as
...
I would expect, though I'd say it is very good only at the start. Still full of clichés, like: inexperienced newcomer at the job Tsukasa. And the fact that he gets to team up with Isla. Later it gets rather straightforward. It was rather predictable, and closer to the end a little overstretched. Perhaps it's for making the viewer empathize and shed a few tears. The end was the same as I'd foreseen even before I've watched half of the episodes. Anyway it is not making it bad, it gives a lot of ideas to think about. Interesting thing is that you may see this story as a sad story or you can see it as a very positive story.
Characters pleased me way more than the story. Cute, clumsy, making strange faces Isla. Serious, inexperienced, but eager to learn Tsukasa. Other characters are very bright and have their unique sides. Even in this 13-episode anime you can notice character development, but it's mostly concerning Tsukasa and Isla as they are in the focus of the story. Just comparing them at the beginning and at the end shows a significant difference.
Art is a strong side of this anime. Great character design, great backgrounds, great coloring. I really liked to watch those bright scenes. City landscape during the dawn and the night city looks super awesome!
Sound is good. Atmosphere is always made right. ED and OP are nice and not make you skip them. I couldn't guess that Isla was voiced by Amamiya Sora, who voiced Akame from Akame ga Kill!, till I checked it. I've heard of Takumi Yasuaki before, but he made Tsukasa fit the character very well. Seiyuu job is great as always.
Overall we got a curious and rather unusual, slow paced romance story without sudden turns of events. It does make anime world get +1 good series. Don't let the synopsis deceive you, it is not so as it may seem to be! Most memorable and impressing for me in this anime are the bright art, characters and philosophic ideas.

***This review contains spoilers for prequels of the series***
So it is recommended to ones who finished 1st and 2nd seasons
The third season of Jigoku Shoujo is still conceptually the same, keeping rather dark atmosphere with faint rays of hope glowing, and then fading. But this time it is getting really absurd, I mean it not in a bad way though it is hard to get the point, the situations pictured here are now even more absurd. Yeah, people tend to act irrationally, especially being filled with hate and wrath, and the consequence are not pleasant at all. But what for are we shown that? To
...
make us hate hell correspondence? Or to laugh at those [tragic] scenes?
Story is still episodic, but now we again get a character who is opposing Enma Ai. Her name is Mikage Yuzuki and she is a little resembling Shibata Tsugumi. And the narration is shifted to the perspective of the new character. Rules are still the same, not changed from first season. We see Mikage Yuzuki attempting to meddle and change the situation for the better, but you probably guessed that it's futile.
We have already been shown impressing stuff, like episode 23 of the first season where innocent girl is being sent to hell, where even usually emotionless Enma Ai is wavering. This episode really meant that Hell Girl is the thing that better not to be in this world. I wish they did more explanations and development of the story at that side, but this was cut with a short phrase "it is not up to us to decide this". In the end of second season we saw people in one town massively accessed Jigoku Tsuushin, which merely caused whole town's extinction. But now we get stories where people have very weird motivation of sending others to hell despite immense cost, going to hell after the death in afterlife. It really often made me think that people need not Jigoku Shoujo services, but a psychologist and/or psychiatrist. Because the root of the problem is within themselves and not in the outside world. So it is like they try solving every problem with it. In fact in previous seasons there also were such stories.
The incongruity I still cannot understand, the idea that only people possessing strong hate can call Jigoku Shoujo, it must have eliminated above mentioned absurd cases, but why it did not? Possibly that it is based on person's initial hate, at the moment of getting straw doll. Often case is almost resolved without untying red thread and the hate seems to be gone, but there is still a bad ending [straw doll used].
This time art is having just a minor changes, but I think they did too many repeating scenes, most events take place in one town so there is a limited amount of great view scenes. I don't mean that it is bad here, it is on the same level with previous seasons.
Music is good and atmospheric, like the previous seasons, but just this time I didn't like OP and ED soundtrack enough not to skip it. Seiyuu are doing a great job.
In the end you expect to see some philosophy of Jigoku Shoujo and Jigoku Tsuushin existence that everything here wasn't meaningless and vain, but disappointingly they throw some vague ideas. Though they do point positive sides of it's existence, but it doesn't sound solid, neither making you believe it. If you liked previous seasons, I recommend you to watch the 3rd as it has various interesting points of view.

Yami ni madoishi awarena kage ---Shade lost in darkness
hito wo kizutsuke otoshimete ---you hurt people
tsumi ni oboreshi gou no tama ---soul full of sins
ippen shinde miru? ---Would die once?
If you watched not dubbed version these words are probably got carved into your head. Enma Ai also known as Jigoku Shoujo is a girl keeping a huge hate herself deeply shut in her heart, mercilessly fulfills her duty. This time she continues to fulfill her duties of Jigoku Shoujo the same way, mercilessly, emotionlessly, decisively, washing people down into the hell.
Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori again follows the same pattern as prequel continuing episodic stories, but now stories
...
are a little less straightforward and less predictable. Though you will still hear the phrase I put in the beginning many times as it is like a gist of the series. However they add more details about her company, her servants, helping her do the "job". Now narration is shifted to the perspective of Ai with her group. So you will see her cold face more often.
In episodes the death of people and other reasons for unhappiness are featured in extent great enough to make people go mad to use the service of Jigoku Shoujo, sending people to hell immediately at cost of being send to hell themselves in afterlife "shinda ato no hanashi dakedo". In some stories you can see a significant motive and in other it is just a fickle. Human lives are ruined, despite it was avoidable. For some ends you can see like it is just better for them to be in hell.
Every time person is sent to hell appears a scene with Ai in kimono pushing the boat with a doomed person to the gates of hell. Actually you often may notice elusive emotions of that girl, even though she has to do her job with her feelings shut deep into her heart, she releases some emotions. But it is not up to her to decide what is wrong and what is right, she does her job whatever happens, crying inside or being overfilled with rage. Yet she can't do anything about it being not allowed to interfere.
Art is not much of difference compared to prequel, some improvements are noticeable so if you liked that art here it is. As I mentioned that it follows the same pattern, dark atmosphere and dark scenes are put with an exquisite manner. But I must say that Ai's kimono in previous season was more appealing to me, that dark purple, am I the only one so?
For the music I'd say quite the same, not many changes, some improvements. Awesome OP and ED soundtracks never skipped those. For a few times you may notice OP soundtrack from the first season playing at the background, nice reminiscence. Seiyuu staff is great, you can well known voices even for episodic characters, I think I heard Yukana at ep. 19, but she is not mentioned at MAL to have a role here.
I was deeply impressed by the first season of Jigoku Shoujo and even though second season has the same concept they did a good job keeping it interesting. Closer to the end of the season episodes are getting more tense to making the perfect final impression.

Nothing was making me to expect much from Jigoku Shoujo as there is not so many good horror anime, being relatively old, like 11 years (now it is 2016)
I had a thought that there is no point in reviewing this anime as all the ideas were mentioned like hundred times,
but after checking a bunch of reviews I found out the lack of some important ideas featured in this anime.
In this review I am not urging everyone to watch it saying "it is a must watch series", however this anime really impressed me. It is a sad story and it may remind you of the worst
...
time in your life, but it is teaching very important moral "revenging you dig two graves, one for your enemy and another for yourself"
So the main idea of this anime in most episodes is hate driving people mad, mad enough to agree on a contract that in their afterlife they go to hell, as a result the object of their hate is immediately send to hell. To do so just untie the red thread on this straw doll. Unfortunately being filled with hate people cannot think clearly and understand the consequences of this contract. So these people hate someone enough to kill at cost of own life. Fortunately there is Hell Correspondence at your service and you do not have to get your own hands dirty. You can get rid of a person you hate and leave a happy life (may be). On the other hand you keep that knowledge that after you die Jigoku Shoujo is going to send you to hell. In my opinion bearing this tough thoughts cannot become a happy life.
Before taking the decision to untie the red thread people have very perplexed thoughts for a moment understanding that being send to hell is like the worst thing happening to them. Some try to resolve the problem on their own and at some points you can see a shine of hope, faint, but visible way to salvation is just not to untie this cursed red thread...
Art. For me in this anime art looks like one of the strongest sides of this anime. Enma Ai in here kimono is so beautiful that you do not get bored of seeing her again and again for many episodes. Keep in mind that this anime has rather dark atmosphere and a lot of dark scenes are set pretty impressive. Effects illustrating supernatural phenomena for me looked splendid despite that it is more than 10 years old anime.
Usually I do not say much about music, music is just fine here, it creates the right atmosphere and almost perfectly fits the situations. Some people might say that it is not so good and soundtrack variation is not rich, but I assure you while watching all the series the idea that music is bad never got to my mind. OP, ED soundtracks are superb and fitting this anime conceptions. Also various characters are voiced by famous seiyuu like Fukuyama Jun, Sawashiro Miyuki and more.

Based on manga by Shinobu Kaitani One Outs has a lot of similarities with manga Liar Game by the same author. Tokuchi Toua and Akiyama Shinichi are similar in a lot of factors, such as these two are extremely self confidient and super smart characters being dragged in a gambling game for huge money, which they cannot afford to lose.
So you probably noticed that this anime is about baseball, as for myself, I was reluctant to watch One Outs for this reason. I don't like baseball, don't care, don't know the rules and don't have intention to learn it. But it didn't matter much (though
...
some baseball explanations made me bored but mostly it was fine) because baseball isn't the main thing here, it's just a setting. It's about Tokuchi Toua struggling for victory and using all means to win.
As for the character Tokuchi Toua is shown as a very perceptive man who is able to notice little things and turn them against his opponent. He is a master in psychology and human manipulation. Though there is not much background information about him, rather no background information at all, you can only guess what was his life before and how did he became such a person. Of course it is not the easy life making you strong and smart. So at the beginning he was playing street version of baseball "One Outs" with no lose at all and that's all about his past. The rest is up to your imagination.
Music is good, especially the OP and ED, I didn't skipped, because every time I heard those songs, I just couldn't skip so enjoyable tracks.
To sum up I'd say that One Outs deserves being ranked #148 (at the moment). This anime can make you like baseball (not me) and it is a very good anime about sports, moreover tricks. I could watch this anime for long time not counting the amount of episodes and being not bored. Tokuchi Toua also resembles main characters from Death Note and Code Geass, as very smart and using cool tricks at the right time.

This review is solely base on anime.
So as you probably read the synopsis you start to guess whether they focus on finding oneself, developing a game or romance.
But frankly speaking the pivot of this story is the game developing process which includes a lot of details, and how characters go through this. Despite that it is set at school, all the problems they have to face make you feel the serious attitude of the game creating, as if when something is missing you can't release the game and there are just two options either you give up or go till the very end bearing all
...
the troubles. This shows the adult world where you make decision and then live with the result of your decisions.
And this leads to the main idea of finding oneself. Through the story they show how every characters' talent is being revealed. They don't just put random people at random places, but the opposite, right people at the right places according to their talents and abilities. Working hard, making their best, because if they don't, the game can't be released, meaning failure.
Art is not really the strong part of this anime, actually the opposite it the weak part. It's done alright and you can watch it. Anyway it's not the point to focus here.
For the sound almost the same as for the art, but with one exception Hanazawa Kana compared to other voice actors is too good here and her playing stands out too much. Though it is quite understandable as she voices a girl who is a seiyuu in the story.
I really enjoyed watching this anime as I kept worrying whether they will reach success and what difficulties they have to struggle, in such a way finding themselves.
