The first seriers was really good. It had enough about story and characters and and the art style and the music and so on that the mid animation in much of it didn't matter.

This is just poor. I can't believe how much they ruined this after a season I thought was just fantastic.

The particularly depressing thing is I was hoping going forward the quality of the anime would at least stay constant and being an anime they might try and fix some of the bigger problems of the manwha which start emerging in this arc (although this contains those problems at their lightest touch) ... cause there's so much to like in the manwha at this point despite it's issues. Given they're unable to adapt the manwha well directly like the first season there's no hope of them ever improving on the manwha.

I would say just go read the manwha but I don't think I can even justify saying that given how bad it gets (there's good stuff it needs a hell of an editor toseparate the wheat fro mthe chaff and guide it but it didn't get one). I think I have to say just go rewatch s1.

It's a definite attempt at a tongue in cheek parody of isekai power fantasy trash.

However that level of tongue in cheek only works to a point in this show. They don't commit to it and to make it work as the show goes on. After the early episodes it stops being funny how absurdly over the top it is and just becomes over the top with some comedy aspects. As after the first 5 episodes or so the show loses the intention to mock itself and replaces it with occasional comedy plots/character which is just much weaker.

So ultimately it becomes a slightly funny over ... the top isekai that's slightly self aware and genre savy but that just happens to start out as parody but loses it's nerve. They try and have their cake and they fail.

After those early episodes it's a light and breezy watch but really nothing special. There are better Isekai out there and there are better parody isekai out there.

Girl, DTMFA and find someone better - he's either got diagnosable intimacy/social anxiety issues you can't help him with or is just asexual. Either way you can do better and find someone who will fulfill you romantically and sexually and who you will not have to mother as a way of gaining any sort of attention or intimacy.

People praise this for featuring adults, these are not adults. They act like platonic friends and not even particularly close ones. In any other romcom the main guy would be the villain, the romantically useless boring guy the main character realises she needs to dump because he ... can fulfill none of her needs emotionally or sexually.


I initially quite liked it, 6 out of 10 and quite watchable if nothing special. However in episode 10 I realised I'd completely misread the situation. I assumed when at the end of the first or second episode she stayed over and they were in pajamas in bed and there was an awkward accident that led to a kiss. I assumed that broke the ice and after that they had sex and it was behind closed doors but broadly they were having sex. I mean she's staying over in his room loads in this show. I didn't realise when they said sleepover they meant sleepover like teenagers have, I assumed it was a euphemism. They are in their late 20s!

But oh no. The big thing in episode 11 is he goes to hold her hand for the first time after months of dating, and wimps out.

I though cause japan and manga can be a bit funny about sex in certain publications you definitely have to read between the lines and broadly it's going on but just not part of the story. Nope. He's lusted after this girl since he was a teenager, they are going out for months and he's still not properly kissed her.

Genuinely one of the worst anime I've ever seen and I read a lot of sci-fi and in terms of scifi outside of anime it's also abysmal.

Tedious, formulaic and genuinely no redeeming features. It does't even look good.

It's genuinely terrible. But not only is it terrible it's also deeply up it's own arse that it doesn't understand it's trash. And so gives it some of the dramatic trappings and rhythms of epic scifi with none of the intellectual or dramatic content.

But the other thing is it's also so long. It's not got much to say and even less that's interesting but to presumably fill the ... run time they repeat every piece of information conveyed. Something will be discussed and then they just say it again. It's like the teletubbies.

This is truly a show for dumb people who think they are smart. It's a show for the easily dazzled.
