I will preface that I really loved this manga, it kept me entertained and left me wanting more (in a good way).
I will not go into depth because it would be a spoiler but you'll realize while reading, granted you are familiar with the sci-fi genre, this is a pretty cliché story as far as sci-fi tropes are concerned. But these tropes and ideas, although not original, are explored from an interesting angle and the way they are executed sets this story apart from all other sci-fi stories that simply recycle overdone plots. There quite a few times, especially towards the end, where I found
...
myself quite touched, but I'll admit sometimes the ecchi fanservice can spoil the mood.
The romance was fulfilling and refreshing. What really impressed me was the fact that the author managed to write both a tragic and a happy romance with the "same" couple, all while not feeling neither like a cop out or excessively dramatic. I know this probably doesn't make much sense without context, but trust me, the feelings of the MCs are resolved beautifully.
The comedy was definitely a highlight, as I found myself audibly laughing quite often, not to mention the adorable chibi art style in which the gags are drawn.
The characters are all unique and intriguing, which is something rare in this type of manga. I also commend the author for including a trans character which definitely surprised me.
Overall this manga is the equivalent of a chef taking common grocery store ingredients and using them to prepare a gourmet meal. Several elements at the basis of the story had already been tried before, but the author gave them an unique twist and breathed new life into these once tired, overdone old tropes.

It's a cozy short read. Most chapters are very short, less than 20 pages or so.
The art is pretty simple, almost sketch-like, and the chibi designs used frequently are very cute. Although not super elaborate or detailed I liked it.
The highlight of the manga is definitely the slice of life aspect, however if you aren't a fan of the genre you might end up thinking this manga is boring. After all the vast majority of chapters are about extremely mundane matters.
The comedy definitely falls flat more often than not, but I'm willing to overlook it because of the cute chibi art style in which the
...
gags are drawn.
The romance on the other hand was very disappointing. Almost all progress in the romantic relationship gets offscreened, for example we are never shown their first kiss. And even when it's the central topic of the chapter, the romance is handled very awkwardly.
Overall, very uneventful manga with poorly executed romance and comedy, nonetheless cute and fluffy when it matters. I'd say it was decently entertaining but nothing groundbreaking. Still, the wholesome atmosphere was enjoyable.

A nice short romcom. The rom is pretty much as cliché as it can get, the interactions between the main couple rather than romantic are cute, it's the type of romance that doesn't really make your heart pound but makes you go "aww". The com on the other hand was very enjoyable. I especially liked the dynamic between the female lead and green gelato Aigo, it was hilarious seeing the equivalent of a power ranger being scared shitless at the sight of a girl that's cute as a button.
Surprisingly I didn't hate the ending, even though it was rushed. For an axed manga it ends
...
pretty gracefully which is rare. I guess some of the side charcters could've used a little more development but it's nothing I'll lose sleep over. Obviously a time skip ending is kinda cheap as always, but I didn't feel any of that frustration that you'd feel after reading the average rushed axe ending.
Overall it was a light and midly entertaining read.

It's a short, kinda cute romcom about childhood friends.
My main issue with this manga is that the characters are absolutely unbearable. The female lead is extremely narcissistic while the male lead is completely emotionally unavailable. The saving grace is that by the end he makes up his mind and starts somewhat reciprocating (although half-assedly) her love, and since the manga is really short it doesn't take much time to reach that point.
The story is really simple, nothing too deep, but seeing the female lead fawn over the male lead was pretty entertaining.
I really liked the art, which I didn't expect. Personally I'm not a huge
...
fan of the typical shoujo art style, it's a bit too dazzling for me, those sparkly eyes can be distracting, however this manga has a really balanced art style which sets it apart from the rest. You can definitely tell it's a shoujo, especially the male lead looks like the typical shoujo guy, but it's not super stereotypical. This might be a negative if you're a fan of the typical shoujo art style but for me it's a positive.
Overall I really didn't like the first four chapters as it was frustrating having to put up with the female lead's arrogant behavior and the male lead's dismissive behavior, but the last few chapters weren't too bad.

I wouldn't really consider this manga a romcom, it's way more focused on the inner workings of the light novel and anime industries, romance plays a comparatively minor role.
If I had to describe this manga in a sentence it's about a young light novel writer, Utaha, who is being worked to the bone and is having to deal with corporate greed meddling with her art (also she happens to have a one sided crush on her editor, Tomoya).
There are very few romantic developments and on top of that, as I've already mentioned, they're all extremely one sided. It's not because Tomoya's the dense type of
...
MC who's completely oblivious, the opposite actually, he is aware of her feelings, he just chooses to ignore them for the sake of professionalism.
The only reciprocal expression of love in the entire manga is found in the last chapter and not only does it feel forced, it's very underwhelming as well.
I have been fairly critical so far but I don't believe this manga is all that bad, I simply feel the way I do because I was convinced it was a romcom so I expected romance.
However as a manga about the light novel industry it's pretty interesting, although a little shallow in terms of detail. Personally I would've preferred if the author went all in with the light novel industry theme and shed light on this world much more than they did.
So in conclusion, it's a decent-ish portrayal of the light novel industry with some very sparse romance seasoning. If you're looking for a manga that'll make your heart skip a beat this is not it, but if you are curious about how light novels are made and would enjoy a little bit of drama to go along with it then this for you.

Emotionally stunted boy X emotionless girl, the manga.
That's right, the premise is supposed to be that Akanabe sensei is a girl who can't feel embarrassment, but the truth is she shows no emotions at all, not just embarrassment. Apparently the author cannot tell the difference between not feeling embarrassment and not having a single ounce of humanity. The female lead will say stuff like "I'm so over the moon, you made me so happy" with a perfect poker face. Last time I checked happiness isn't embarrassment, but even when happy she reacts like an android.
The male lead is even worse, the spineless romcom MC whose
...
knees get weak because of hug. Constantly turning beet red in the most mundane situations as if he were a middle schooler who had his first erection last week, just absolutely lacking in manliness.
On the other hand the story isn't that bad, but just kinda boring, nothing much really happens. The wholesome vibe is enjoyable but it does nothing to elevate the romance. It's best enjoyed as a cute slice of life basically.
As a slice of life it's pretty good, as a romcom it's pretty bad.

There's so much... sexual harassment...
This story is just so damn ridiculous, and my issues with it don't even have anything to do with the fact that she's double his age, since it's the premise you either accept it or reject it.
As I've already mentioned this story is an ouroboros of sexual harassment, where everyone realistically should be in a sex offender registry. But somehow the characters manage to be both sexual deviants and also have monk-like dedication to preserving their chastity??? And it's not the regular "I'm saving my first time for my lover", this is the super saiyan version of that: "I'm saving
...
my erections for my lover". The male lead literally breaks down crying because someone that's not his beloved sensei gave him a boner, in his eyes he had "betrayed" her. I can't believe I actually wrote that, but it's the truth. And guess how he gets over this trauma? By sexually harassing the sensei! That's right, he just goes to her apartment and starts blabbering at the top of his lungs about how much he jerked off to her. That's what I mean by sex offender monk.
The only saving grace is that the art is sexy, but this just annoys me even further because it's just further proof that some "romance" manga artists should really just draw porn.

Even by the standards of ecchi garbage this is simply a bad manga. It's low effort slop that's full of plot holes (for example the story keeps contradicting itself on how succubi are born). It's boring, predictable, cringy and the conclusion is beyond frustrating.
To exemplify just how disappointing this manga is, when presented with the dilemma that a romantic relationship between a human and a succubus is intrinsically unsustainable because of the differences between their species the solution offered is "eh, who cares, marry me". Why was the dilemma even brought up (and initially made into a big deal) if it was just gonna be
...
hand-waved as something not even worth thinking about?
Don't waste your time on this.

This is basically if Light Yagami instead of being obsessed with killing criminals was obsessed with jerking off and eventually realized the error of his ways, deciding to take responsibility for his sins and endure the appropriate punishment so that one day he could redeem himself and rebuild the friendships he once neglected.
In a sentence, it's a melodramatic/psychological manga about one really fucked up pervert and his journey towards redemption. It's a really original premise, even though it is, as I've already said, a pretty blatant Death Note parody. I started reading the manga absolutely hating the MC, I was convinced there was no
...
way I could bring myself to like this dude, but surprisingly I enjoyed seeing his transformation from scum of the Earth to normal human being, granted at no point did I feel any pity for him, let alone started liking him.
As for the things I didn't like, there's a whole lot of them.
1) the reason why the MC became such a degenerate isn't explored with enough detail, the whole "jacking off to his girl classmates in the girl's bathroom" ordeal is just hand-waved as something he does because it's easier to fantasize about people than to actually interact with them, he was a coward basically (past tense because he grows up as a person). However that doesn't explain why he needed to jack off specifically in the girl's bathroom.
2) the rape fantasies that the MC had are extremely off-putting, I get that it was to drive home the fact that MC's a scumbag, but I think it was overdone.
3) I find it unacceptable that Sugawa, one of the victims of MC's degenerate crimes, becomes his love interest. It's not like it even had to be her, it could've been any random girl from cram school or from his high school, even a girl from his middle school that he hadn't touched would've been fine, but not a victim, it's simply unreasonable to even entertain the idea that a victim of such crimes would ever fall in love with MC after what he's done. Regardless how much he's changed, it's not possible to erase the past.
4) the theme of bullying is handled in a horrible way. Not only are we given no explanation for why Kitahara gets relentlessly bullied, but all her bullies face absolutely no consequences at all. The story then tries (and fails) to liken the MC to Kitahara, implying that just like MC, if she changed for the better and endured the harassment she could move on and find people that she could call friend. However Kitahara, unlike MC, gets bullied for no reason, what was she supposed to change about herself? The harassment MC received was the proper punishment for his depraved actions, Kitahara on the other hand hadn't done anything to deserve any of what happened to her. But she's still framed as the stubborn girl who would not change and let go of her petty grudges, I find that distasteful.
5) none of the friends of MC have any self-respect whatsoever. Nagaoka in particular puts up with MC's high and mighty behavior even though he's clearly dismissive of him, and for what reason? Who knows. The manga even tries to frame their difficulty with forgiving MC as a dilemma, when in fact any person with self-respect would've filed a restraining order as soon as they knew the truth. Nagaoka's case, once again, is particularly baffling. A pervert admits to cumming on your girlfriend's belonging which traumatized her to the point she couldn't hold back her puke, and you go out of your way to be all buddy buddy with him like nothing happened?
6) it might be just a personal pet peeve, but I find it disappointing that we never got to see MC fulfil his promise to Takigawa about becoming a novelist, nor him going on a new trip with group SOS. They feel like loose ends that should've at least been hinted at in some way.
Overall, decent but extremely flawed redemption story, it's way too quick to forgive MC's actions and simultaneously too harsh on Kitahara, making for a story that is hypocritical with an inherently contradictory message. However I can see why some people might enjoy this more than I did. I'd say the more willing you are to turn a blind eye to the horrendous stuff MC did the more you'll enjoy the story. Sadly I simply cannot bring myself to empathize with MC. Nevertheless, in a way, it was still a decent read, it made me feel something, granted it was mostly disdain towards the MC, but every once in a while I found myself enjoying the drama, regardless of how nonsensical it was, and, although undeserved, the redemption was also interesting to see unfold.

The circumstances that lead to the creation of this manga are really important when rating it. This manga takes inspiration from a (supposedly) real story from a 2ch thread, obviously the artist has done some embellishment of his own, for example I doubt the molester man (the MC) actually had the impulse to do a JoJo reference every 5 minutes IRL, but it's fine, it makes it a more enjoyable manga if anything.
Now, as a manga, from a technical standpoint, it's a mess, firstly because there's way way waaaay too much text every page, and secondly because the art style is sloppy. However, that doesn't
...
bother me because after all the artist is really doing us a favour by adapting a 2ch thread into a manga in the first place. Regardless of how unimpressive the art and paneling might be, the very fact that it exists is amazing. Think of it as those little comics on twitter about funny 4chan greentexts, except this one is 21 chapters long.
Regarding the characters, I do have some pet peeves, but it's not stuff that I can really criticize, their flaws are justified by the fact that they're real people. Nevertheless I did find the molester man to be kind of insufferable, especially at the beginning, but that might be just because personally I hate the "2ch degenerate" archetype, his internal monologue was at times too cringy to endure. His redeeming grace is that when he decides to open his mouth he's surprisingly kind, caring and thoughtful, and as the story progresses his degenerate antics becomes less of a cringefest and more of a funny gag.
Lastly, the story itself is a masterpiece, the sole reason I put up with the (admittedly few and minor) pet peeves mentioned earlier. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best romance manga ever, full stop. The story isn't a wishy-washy slog where the characters take 100 chapters to confess like 99% of romance manga, there are no painfully obvious and annoying tropes, the drama isn't suffocating, there's no unnecessary and immature fanservice, and last but not least it's not set in a damn high school (hurraaaay!!!). This is mostly because the manga is based on real events (at least that's what I decided to believe), so obviously the story feels realistic, and realism is something that romance manga almost always lack.
Overall this was an extremely satisfying read, it's funny, romantic, realistic, relatable, just an amazing story, really. I can't give it a 10 because it's not perfect, if the art and paneling were like Yokota Takuma's more recent works I would be more inclined to give it a 10, alas I will rate it a 9.
