tldr: its not good.
i saw this at the library and thought the cover was pretty, and i love manga centered around salarywomen closet nerds, so i picked it up. i was thoroughly disappointed.
story 3/10:
it has a basic plot: a gag manga that follows a middle schooler who has a crush on his beautiful school nurse, unaware she is a total closet nerd. mainly relies on references and relatable scenarios for comedy, but they aren't incredibly funny, to be honest.
i don't like that the main character isn't really the nurse, momoyama, but her student, kurita, who has a crush on her. i feel like
...
being able to have interactions with more of the student body would have been funnier. i know that a lot of the story is about kurita's (THANKFULLY BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW MANGA WORKS) unrequited crush on his teacher who only sees him as a little brother/character of a coming of age anime or manga, but i think it's really limiting to the humor of the series. i could think of a ton of scenarios focusing on a closet nerd school nurse off the top of my head that would be pretty funny, like some young girl students asking for boy advice and having momoyama only rely on her knowledge from dating sims, or momoyama getting confused at a school sports game because its not like anime or maybe her going on a date with a guy because he looks like an anime character only for her to be totally disappointed. kurita's also super freaking boring, so it's not like he makes it really special. it also feels a bit unrealistic how close kurita is to momoyama. i understand being pals with your teacher, but not following them on twitter or going to the bookstore with them after school. it was just kind of weird to read.
art 5/10
nothing horrendous, nothing incredible. some of the expressions they put on momoyama are a bit weird looking, but it's gag manga so i'll let it slide.
character 3/10
kurita is a boring cardboard cut-out character. i know there's only two volumes but still, he really doesn't fit the role of main character at all and doesn't add anything to the manga.
momoyama is your average big sister type character with a nerdy twist. thank god and the heavens above, she doesn't return kurita's feelings and openly says she sees him as a younger brother and stuff, but i still think it's weird that she is so close to him when she has friends her age that also enjoy nerdy things. does she not like. sit and evaluate "wow im a grown woman and one of my 13 year old students follows me on twitter." ? in general, she's mainly used as fanservice for the readers. i was hoping she'd be more of a relatable comedic heroine for the readers who are also closet nerds and salary women. she's relatable to me as a girl whos a closet nerd, yeah, but i feel like she could have been less... boob, more character sometimes.
yuzuki joins in like halfway through the whole manga and is super irrelevant. he's the school hearthrob and a student athlete who's also a closet otaku. his sister is a doujinshi/manga author that got him into nerdy things and had him work on her manga for her, so he loves drawing. but he gets like 2 seconds of screentime total and has very little impact on the manga in general. it sucks, because again if kurita wasn't the main character i'm sure there could have been some good gags if he was there longer.
overall/enjoyment 4/10
its not very funny. there just arent many good jokes. i smiled a couple times seeing references to popular anime and i found a couple chapters that were dedicated to momoyama's life outside of school kind of entertaining, but it wasn't like i was at the edge of my seat or cracking up. some things are relatable but since its not really in the point of view of momoyama it loses its impact. the characters aren't all that great. its not anything id say you have to read, you're not missing out on anything. its a decent premise that completely wastes its potential.
